Memory Maker

I have just bought a Memory Maker pass. I've used the Photopass Plus before but not the Memory Maker and I am a tad confused. Previously I've had the Photopass card for the photographers to scan. This time I don't seem to have anything. It is linked to my ticket, so does this mean that the photographers scan my WDW ticket? We are staying off site so won't be having magic bands. Also I read that you needed a magic band for some photos. Can anyone tell me what they are? Thanks. I ordered the Photopass plus for Disneyland at the same time. Much easier to know what to do.

You can buy magic bands while you are there or online before you go. there is the app, my magic plus and you can book all your fastpasses 60 days before you go to Disneyworld and reserveations 180 day. I guess if you bought a magic band when you got there they could link all your fastpasses and dinner reservations on it.The photos you would need the band for are the ride photos. When you have a magic band and have bought the memory maker package, when you exit the ride the photos are automatically put onto you magic band so you don't have to go up to the counter and tell them the number and get it put on your card. Each time you see a photographer you can just use your magic band to scan instead of finding a card. Does that make sense?

Hi! We went last November. We stayed offsite and didn't bother getting a magic band. WDW sent us a memory maker card - like the photopass card - in the mail. We just handed that card over to the photographers same as with a photopass card. I know we couldn't get our photos linked from the 7 Dwarves ride but we were able to get the photo from Tower of Terror. From memory, we spoke to a CM at the MM info place - near the Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell Meet and Greet - and I think the 7DMT was the only ride we could not get the photos from without a magicband.

Each night I would log onto My Disney Experience and check that our photos from that day were uploaded. We didn't have any problems. Hope this helps!

If you're staying offsite, you can book Fast Passes at 30 days out, not 60.

I was there in April 2014, and they were still able to hand you a card at each meet and greet (or you get one and then continue to use that for your trip)
I'm not sure if that's still relevant?

Either way, maybe just get obe MB for your group if all you're going to use it for is ride photos?

Thanks for your replies everyone. I didn't really want to buy 9 MagicBands as all we can really use them for is our tickets and fastpasses. I'm happy to use the tickets for that, no big deal. I am wondering about getting 1 MagicBand just for myself to use for photos. I emailed WDW last night. They told me that the only thing I needed a MB for was rides with videos. Obviously that's 7 Dwarves and I'm not sure what else. However they also told me just to use the photopass cards the photographers use. I would have thought I'd need something else, especially for the ride photos as well. I did see this morning another email saying that a parcel was shipped from WDW to me overnight. Not sure what it is, but wondering if it is a Memory Maker card.
Does anyone know what other rides give you a video?

It should be your memory maker card that is being shipped to you. You can then link this to your MDE account along with your tickets. You just scan the card at the rides and with any photographers in the park at WDW.
For members of your group who happen to have photos taken by photographers when they are not with you, they just get a card from them and at the end of the day you can have all these cards added to your account.

I'm not aware of any other videos, but used the memory maker for all the ride photos, it was great. We did WDW in October with no magic bands at all, had no issues anywhere with the photos or ride entry when used for FP+.

Crazy Cat Lady, did the 7 Dwarfs work for you? Does it have photo as well as video? If you didn't get a video, did you get a photo? Or did you get both? We haven't done that ride so not sure what to expect in terms of photography.
My tickets and Memory Maker are all linked to my MDE account. I'm thinking it has to be a card being shipped as I haven't bought anything else. The email just said it would all be electronic which is why I wasn't sure. I just want to make sure we're not missing out on anything without a MagicBand. I won't be buying them for everyone, but wasn't sure if we need just 1.

::yes:: You are right, it's the card that's being sent to you... in a little DL envelope, sat inside a big A4 cardboard envelope, sent super fast shipping lol.

(Amazing what they'll send expedited shipping, when they won't send so many other things even snail speed ha ha! :eeyore:)

We didn't get a photo or a video from memory - I don't even remember seeing where we could get either. Ah, just did a bit of Googling (what did we do before?!) and found this extract from a press release posted on September 18th, 2014 by Kelly Glassburn, Manager of Marketing & Communications, Disney’s PhotoPass Service....

"Just released today, we are excited to add a photo and video memento at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Now, when you ride the attraction with a MagicBand and a linked Memory Maker entitlement you will have your photo and video automatically associated to your My Disney Experience account. - See more at: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...de-at-walt-disney-world/#sthash.yMMbyLHc.dpuf"

Well, that explains that, only linked to MB and we didn't have them. Not to matter, I was just pleased that we were only in line for 15 minutes to ride it! LOL. Rope drop it if you cant get FP+.... wait was up to 50 minutes when we got off at 9.15 am!

Its automatic (no stand or kiosk to visit) Just ride 7DMT and your magic band takes care of the rest.

We did not have memory maker (but had magic bands) for our stay this past January...the photos and videos from all rides were still added to our MDX account - and you can buy them as you wish.
memory maker is just pre paying for all photos and video

but don't worry if you did not buy memory maker...as you can still buy them at a per photo/video price (ala cart) more expensive if you end up buying a few

long story short...don't know if it will still work without a magic band.

I received an email back from WDW today, saying that 7DMT & TOT both need a MagicBand. They did say that I only needed 1 MB though to get the photos / videos for the group. So think I might get 1 MB.

Yes. Just get one MB. I think that was what we were going to do, but decided not to as we had already ridden 7DMT and weren't keen on waiting over an hour to get back on it to get the photo lol! That'sn interesting about TOT. We definitely got a photo from that without a MB.

Just a question about MB's. So I buy one for myself and wear it. All good. If at some point, I decide to stay off and look after my youngest DS who is too small to ride, and send my Mum and my DH & other kids, could I take the MB off and give it to either Mum or DH to wear so we get the video of them?
