BCV: where to shower on check out day?!

We are staying at the BCV next month. We have a late flight home. We planned to stay at the pool for the day, clean up, have an early dinner and head to the airport.
I am now reading that you can no longer use the gym to take a shower. Does anyone know if there are showers near the BCV quiet pool? Any suggestions? o_O

Really? Can't use the gym? That's a common area - ie, the gym is for use by people staying there and AFAIK at all resorts that means during the day of check out too. I've looked at the restrooms by the pool and am thinking they did not have showers but can't recall 100%.

There have been posts saying you can't use the fitness facilities any longer for showering. It's been posted here within the 6-8 months a few times. Or maybe on the Resorts board.

There is a shower in the bathroom at the BCV pool but it's always been a single room (so toilet, sink and shower) and last time I was in there there was no shower curtain. It didn't seem very appealing or practical unless you were going to just rinse off while wearing your swimsuit.

Thanks so much for the reply! Hoping the BCV pool bathroom will work out. I do think it's crazy that a deluxe resort cannot offer an area to shower!

I would highly recommend contacting BCV directly to confirm if you can or cannot use the shower at the gym on check-out day. We have used them in the past but not for several years.

Do you recall reading the reasoning for this? I can't quite understand how they could restrict it - it's not like SSR or VGF where it's a paid spa. It's part of the resort workout room and everything has always been you had access to resort facilities both on check in and check out days.

I agree. The only thing I can think of is if there is an age restriction for use of the fitness center and they are stopping people from bringing toddlers in to use the shower. The other issue might be if people were walking through the fitness center dripping wet and they didn't allow them in for that reason.

ETA: Just checked Disney's website and there is a minimum age of 14 for use of the facilities and guests 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. It's listed under "Know Before You Go": https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/spas/beach-club-resort/ship-shape-health-club/

Ah yes, perhaps its the age restriction. That would make sense.

We like to stay at SSR for our last night if we have a late flight because we have been able to use some very nice showers that I think are near the Spa, but I don't think they are part of it. We don't pass a check in desk or anything. There are towels too.

There's a spa there. My understanding is that they want the showers just for people using the spa, not for people using the pool. There may have been issues about whose job it was to clean the shower area. This has been discussed on the Yacht & Beach Club board for a long time.

Yes this BAN has been in effect for some time. I would inquire with a resort manager while there and follow up with an email when you return. Only way they will change/

I guess one way to get around this would be to pool hop if you have time. If all else fails, I'm pretty darn sure that the pool bathrooms at Pop Century and the All-Stars have showers. You could slum it a little bit, hehe.

The bathrooms at stormalong bay have showers. We have used them several times.

There used to be a hot tub inside but some guy fell, sued disney and now the hot tub is gone. Once the remodel was done, disney cut off use of the showers to pool guests.i haven't tried since. Best option is the showers at boardwalk. It's a shame, I loved that hot tub and showering there. Some idiot falls down and we all suffer. Sure hope he wasn't hurt badly but certainly won something in the suit for disney to take out this area to limit further use/exposure.
