Has anyone heard or want to speculate whether Paint the Night will run nightly in the fall? We will be in the parks from Sunday, Sept. 20th-Wed, Sept. 23rd. I'm hoping to catch the new parade on a weeknight, since we're already planning for F! on our only weekend night.

At this point, there is really no way to know if they'll run the parade daily in the fall. If I had to guess, I would say "maybe, leaning towards yes" for this year, at least, because it's new for the 60th anniversary. That being said, I would tentatively try to make a plan that would let you see both the parade and F! on Sunday.

I would hope they'd run the parade every day since it's their BIG anniversary thing. The fireworks might be a bigger deal since they have to work that out with the city, but the parade they could run if they chose to. I think they should as the fall is still a very busy time for the parks, it's not like February and late April where the parks really have a down time.

Thank you for your replies! I suppose I'll just have to wait for the schedule....which kills me. I want to plan it all out NOW! I may be even more excited than the kids! :tigger:

I know what you mean. I'd also like to know whats happening with Halloween too, so much planning, so little time :cheer2:

In September, I think they would only run the parade on weekend days when the park closes at midnight because like fireworks, Paint the Night needs complete darkness to be enjoyed. In mid-late September at Anaheim, Astronomical Twilight (complete darkness) starts around 8:15 p.m. and historically, the park closes early on weekdays in September, either 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. The latest I've seen parades scheduled is one hour prior to closing, so there wouldn't be enough time for the parade if the park closed by 9:00 p.m.

But for the 60th celebration, Disneyland could extend their weekday hours to 10:00 p.m. and accommodate the parade. I am only speculating, but hopefully someone will chime in if that's in the works. :)

It's also worth noting that Paint the Night will probably not run on nights when there is a MHP, if the parties stay in DLR. The park closes at either 6:00 pm (weekdays) or 7:00 pm (weekends) for the parties, so that seems like it would be too early for a nighttime parade to run.

Great points kittyskyfish and figment! I would LOVE if fall hours were extended for the 60th, but I won't hold my breathe. I'm also really hoping MHP does not start early this year. That would certainly impact our park time, since we wouldn't be participating in the party. I guess it's all just a wait and see. ..

I sure hope they do because we are going those same dates and have already designated the fireworks for Sunday, but I'd hate to miss the parade! I know not to count on it, but with two little ones it would be really hard to do multiple shows in one night.

I wonder if PTN will be replaced once the Christmas season sets in. Will they run the normal Christmas parade and then use that as a reason to not bring it back nightly once 2016 begins?

The Christmas parade will not be presented this year based on information in the Christmas SuperThread and the original 60th anniversary media event Q&A.

I would have thought they would run the Christmas parade in the daylight and the 60th parade at night, similar to how they will be doing Soundsational. So, no daytime parade.....

It's extremely unlikely they'll put away PTN for the holiday season to run the Christmas Fantasy parade at night. I can see running PTN in Disneyland and if they wish, run the Christmas parade in the afternoon or move it to DCA. They still need an afternoon parade for families not staying up late.

I'd be surprised if they didn't run Christmas fantasy during the day like they are running soundational before paint the night...
