***The Official April 2016 Thread!***

jetblue flies out of ORH Worcester, but only 1 flight going and coming. Compare those prices when you look. THe parking was crazy cheap... like 45.00 for 8 days and we were parked right at the airport lot

Interesting...I'll have to keep an eye on them in July. We are considering flying but I haven't made up my mind yet.

I've been hearing from people that they may be upping their flights starting this summer as well so there may be more options than that very soon! I live in the Worcester area so it's been a bit of a big deal.

Hi Jenny! I'm also from MA, considering April vacation. As you've been doing that trip for awhile, how is airfare during that time? Do you have an approach to finding decent fares? My kids will be 7, 4, and 1, so I'm still considering just going first week of May like we did in 2014!

Also, welcome! :)

cool if they add more flights!!! we went with ORH because it was a doable drive and cheaper than BDL in 2014, but for 2015 when I quickly compared prices the minute they were released BDL was cheaper by far. And its closer to home, but its still an option for sure!!!

We have decided to fly. With 3 kids it's just too much to drive so we will pay extra. We will most likely have to rent a car since we will prob be offsite, but we are ok with that too.

Has anyone started planning their park days yet? I noticed undercover tourist is doing buy a 4 day pass, get the fifth day free right now. I'm not sure how long they're doing that so I may purchase soon. We have 2 non expiring tickets that my dd and I used last time-I think they have 3 days each left on them so that will cut down a bit on what we need to buy!

Where do you stay when you stay offisite Molly812? I have a friend that is looking for something for a dec stay.

Last time we stayed off-site we stayed @ Marriott Grande Vista. It was really nice and roomy. Gorgeous good size kitchen. I think it runs around $250 a night. (No clue, it cost us $79 a night because my sister checked us in)

It was a long, long time ago (my very first Disney trip, nearly 20 years ago) but I really enjoyed the Hilton right across the street from Downtown Disney. I don't know the price anymore but the rooms were big and nice, they were comfortable, and you could walk to Downtown Disney easily to get a bus or just spend the evening walking around.

I would recommend NOT staying anywhere near the Celebration Suites in Kissimmee. They're nicely located only about 10 minutes away from Disney but when we stayed a couple of years ago it looked like it had been in dire need of repairs for a while.

thanks for the suggestions! she is going in dec and the week she picked wont have any onsite discounts. I wasnt sure what to tell her, last time I stayed offsite was in march of 91 on my spring break!

I haven't stayed offsite as an adult, so I can't firsthand recommend. We have a timeshare and we are exchanging through rci. I'm looking at Wyndham bonnet creek which is on property but not disney owned. They are only showing dec dates right now so I haven't booked yet....but they have several available in dec if she's interested!

BOnnet creek is where I did suggest to her !! its pretty much on property even though it technically isnt a disney resort. We passed it a ton of times on the bus

I checked out both of your ptr's! Coloredimage-this is so funny. I also live in MA and I'm also a teacher-hence traveling on April break. I teach k and live in western mass. Are you driving or flying?
We are also in MA, about 10 min south of Boston. I'm having the post Disney blues after just returning from DL this last April vacation. So, of course I need to start planning the next trip to get over my post Disney depression. Planning for the 16-23 or 15-22 b/c my DH is a teacher. Hoping to get a decent price on flights...I'll start to look as soon as those dates become available. I love road trips, but I could not do that drive with my 5 and 6 year olds as they start to complain after about an hour in the car. I'll probably fly out of logan b/c it is so close, but I know they seem to jack the prices up around school vaca. I'm trying to decide if we will do a moderate this time or AoA. Happy planning everyone!!!:yay:

Good news for MA April vacation travelers - touring plans list the 16-23 as a crowd level 4 so pretty low!!

Welcome! I'll add your possible dates to the list! And that's wonderful about the crowd levels! I miss low crowds after last year (and I'm sure this year) in the summer

this year was a low crowds according to Easywdw which I follow, but I still say that getting out of the parks between 1-4 is a smart idea. MK the most started to feel pretty crowded at that time. Usually one MK day out of the whole week we stay through that time and we notice for sure heavy congested areas. Also one day we were doing MK and DHS and we decided to grab a snack to eat in Epcot which was a not suggested day and boy can you tell the difference! My guys even said good thing this wasnt our actual Epcot day.. and we quickly exited through the I.G Do any of you plan on starting a FB page for april 2016??

Totally agree... 1-4 is good time for break and the kids like to get in pool time.
