Hmm. DH would what to upgrade to the larger room especially staying that many nights and he loves to eat. I am willing to stay in a studio and that do an expensive activity or rent a cabana for the day. There are four of us all adult prices, chef mickey is now over $200 for us. I know I am paying for the experience and the characters, been there done that. So I would probably pick an activity.

Hi Phil :)

Stay with original plan and pocket the $500 Have fun I LOVE POP especially the 50's section
Hey can you bring down some NJ bagels and bialys PLEASE ??

I would stay at POP, upgrade the dining, and NOT add an extra night, as you are going to need to factor in tip money for table service!...I would hate to make a different suggestion, and have your budget be blown.

For the length of your stay, I would go with the moderate just for a little more comfort but...9 days of counter service might be a bit much. The upgrade to the regular dining plan and some TS meals would probably make for a nicer trip.

This~ :thumbsup2!!!

My first thought was if you can still get your bounce back offer if you switch to a moderate? I would make sure you could and someone on the DIS can probably answer that.

If you can keep the bounce back offer then switching to the mods is a great idea. You will be getting 9 days with queen-sized beds rather than doubles and the added benefit of table service meals. My family enjoys table service because eating all counter service made us feel like we were eating fast food the entire vacation. Whereas with TS you can get a great steak, seafood, pasta and many other options.

Depends... you don't mention if you're traveling with kids or as a couple which might change my mind, nor how much you'll be in the room. Personally (we are two adults) we'd stay at POP and use some of the extra money for a couple nice meals and pocket the rest. 9 vs 10 days wouldn't stop my presses unless we were aching to add something off site as well where the time would really help - I'd need to have already had a desire and plan for that day before I'd spring for it.

Are you factoring in the additional cost of tips with the upgrade in the dining plans? Tips can really eat into a budget. Personally, I'd keep the plan as is and use the $500 to do some fun stuff that I might not normally do. Why not add something different into the plan like horseback riding, archery, a tour, a TS meal that isn't on the dining plan like Shula's or Bluezoo, Pirates League, rent a pontoon boat, or have afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian.

How many table service meals would you want to do if you stay of the plan your on? DH and I went in Feb (POR) and did the DDP, what we found was it was a lot of food and the tips really ate into our budget.
We are All Star Music people at heart, so if it was us, I would stay at the value with the counter serve and pay out of pocket for the 2 or 3 dinners we might do.
If you would enjoy a sit down, or character meal every day them upgrading might be worth it. Just don't forget about those Tip's.I'm not sure if I helped you at all.

I would just use that $500.00 as pocket money, and don't budget anything for it, and use it as you please! The mouse will find a way to grab it!

I would do the stay at Pop and take the extra day. I only ever get to stay five fulls days, so it sounds like heaven to me.

SO.... I don't know if anyone remembers this question??? Its been a while and I was just going to do the extra day... well today I just rolled the dice and called WDW!!!

SOOOO
I am staying the extra day, AND upgraded to Port Orleans French Qtr (garden view) & GETTING the DDP. all for an extra $700...I know $200 more then I wanted BUT I think it was worth it, I booked a few extra photography jobs... so I wont go hungry lol. Im supper happy today!
