You really think Universal planning is complicated?

I have seen Universal referred to as the Darkside on other sites too........and yes for a long time so it's not a new "made up" term.

I think the Disney side of the boards has plenty of anachronisms too, but never struggled with any of them myself.

Maria, I wouldn't worry at all. Some people just don't like the term darkside because of the people who use it in a derogatory fashion. I listen to the podcast in places that I can't read like in the car and don't really have an opinion on the term myself as I love Universal and Disney the same amount.

BTW - I personally found ab-satch really funny so kudos to you for the inspiration. We call them bum bags in the UK

But... but.... Universal is one day for both parks, with nothing to do for kids AT ALL.Now excuse me while I plan my 3rd day at MK because I just can't see it all.

I was trying to use search on the boards to find an early use of the term. I'm guessing the origins predate the server reboot. But I did find in 2007 an adorable trip report "Mickey's Vacation to the Darkside" http://www.disboards.com/threads/mickeys-vacation-to-the-darkside.1504916/

i know the person that started using darkside/motherland on the boards.
the terms have been around for sometime.

brab's thread is still a hoot to read.
it's a fun read.

Well I love Disney and the Dark Side.
I agree with lauradis, "I'm grown woman. I'll call it whatever I want! "

And more importantly, I will be there in 2 days.
