DIS Unplugged Show Feedback and Suggestions

I've been listening weekly for over 3 years and look forward to them each week. I love the 7x7....amazing. I would love to hear the feedback of the non-regulars on these a bit more. I love hearing from you guys but I would also love to hear the opinions from those who may only get to visit once a year or even less frequently.

I am a newbie listener having found you in the last year so I have no frame of reference. I do prefer the pre-recorded shows versus the live shows. I would love to see more videos of the cast in the parks doing whatever they enjoy. I really enjoyed the Epcot Drinking Around the World video and how everyone interacted with each other. I saw a different side of your personalities.

Here is something that I have been wondering: Why do your resort reviews have to take place 7 in a row in 7 days? Many of you commented while you were doing the review that you were absolutely exhausted when you were done and also that a one night stay does not tell you everything that you need to know about the resort. Why not one resort a week? Or one a month for seven months? Why are you all exhausting yourselves like that? Also, I am not sure that it really is the best review when you are only there for a night and a day.

I get this format when you are in DL, because you don't live there and have only a week to look around and evaluate the resorts, but you all live in Orlando.

Over the years, the show has changed and that's ok with me. I love the interaction of the whole team and I feel that they work well together. I too would like to see more restaurant reviews...I love how John and Kevin do that. One other thing I would like to see, is another "get to know the team" podcast...there was one years ago, but as Dustin stated, the players have changed and it would be interesting to know what drew the newer members to the team. Keep up the great work !!

This is a great idea. One of the most common conversations I hear at the DIS meets is people asking the podcast members how they came to work for the DIS. We had a couple of those conversations this past weekend in Richmond. I think it would make a great segment to give everyone's back story.

I don't often post but just wanted to thank you all for an amazing show. I can't imagine the time and energy each of you puts into the shows and the website. We started listening to your show before our first trip in 2010 and have since listened to all the old episodes. Tuesday nights are a cheap date night for me and hubby as we listen to the taped show. Really enjoyed the free form Friday's (was home to watch them live - very cool). Thanks for all the great info, reviews, humour and fun.

I have been a lurker on the disboards for over 10 years now. I've finally gained the confidence to begin to post. So please bear with me.
I have to say like most everyone else who has posted I absolutely love the show. I have been listening since the very beginning and love how the show has evolved as well as all of you.
I would love to hear more about some of the obstacles families face when going into the park. Such as making dining reservations for a family of 6 Or how do you keep your 2 year old entertained when you're in a queue. Obviously I'm speaking from a family's point of view but there is so many of us out there lol. I'm a brand new parent and have so many questions now. Even just the logistics of going in and out of a park, what to pack, how to handle all the Sun and heat, as well as maybe what the best color is to bring in to the park considering size and space. I'd like to get a better perspective of what it's like to bring a two year old and four year old into the park. Just to get a better understanding of some of the things that may happen and how I can avoid or turn them into a better experience.
I hope this all made sense. Thanks guys for everything you do!

I'm really loving the shows that give tips/recommendations! Also, I would love a favorite disney memories/life-defining disney moments show! Maybe I'm cheesy but I really love how sentimental Disney is for so many people and I think it is a major reason people keep going back! Also, are you able to do podcasts or videos of the crew at Disney? THAT would be cool!

Also, shout out to Kathy! You are so awesome, i just want to meet you and give you a hug. Earlier this month I was at epcot and I thought of you the whole time I was riding Figment!

I have to say, I have always been a Kevin fan. When he is on the show I know I'm going to laugh more. His honesty and personality cracks me up. I love John, Pete, and the gang. I like the shows to be little less scripted like the old days. Its hilarious when Pete has to say, "lets get back on topic people."
I love the LIVE shows. I know Pete hates them but its like we are there with you guys. I can understand however, being in your seat, it can be nervous being live. I'm sure its easier recording and the recording makes you more relaxed.
You guys , ALL of you , even Craig has become apart of my family.
My wife works nights so I don't always get to see the "LIVE" shows so I watch them at night. You have become my friends that I can laugh and cry with. You have gotten me through some lonely nights due to the fact my wife works 12 hr night shifts in the NICU. My kids go to bed at 8:30 and "I talk with you guys!" Yes, this 260 lb, X football player, 37 yr old dad has a heart. LOL
I just wanted to add that, and I love the rants. Seems real , down to earth. You guys are awesome.
Geaux cart cam!!! If you need help with Geaux, Cory will explain!

Thought I'd provide feedback on the recent shows.

They are amazing.

Sorry. Wish I could provide more specific details and constructive criticisms but that's all I got.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks :)

Another suggestion... Have Lee Cockerell on as a special guest. He has a past relationship with the DIS (was on a Podcast cruise and gave a presentation) and may have been at another event. He has a new book out (Time Management Magic) and is doing some promotion.

I remember back in the day that he even offered to do some event to help benefit Give Kids The World but nothing ever happened with that.

Is it possible to reposition either the microphones or the cameras so that people's faces aren't blocked by the microphones? I'm watching right now. You can totally see Pete but Kevin's face is obscured by the microphone. What about using headsets like at the DIS meet shows? That would solve the problem.

So this isn't about the podcast but about the Park Bench videos. I love these videos. I think the idea behind them is great. They are a glimpse of Disney. That being said, I wish they were in a "map" format on the website. So for those who are not as familiar with the lay out of the parks you could click on a camera icon on the park map and watch the video from that location. I know nothing of how this would be set up other than some sort of hyperlink.
Just an idea. Love the show and enjoy the honesty from the team when Disney has not met our expectations. Thank you all for your work.

LOVE the map idea! I like watching the Park Bench videos when I know I won't be getting to the parks any time soon. It's a bit like a visit anyway.

I absolutely love the show. One of my favorite things, as another poster here said, is that the team does NOT always agree! I also like how there are many different perspectives at the table: young singles, families with young children, single mothers, grandparents, couples with no kids. Disney has something for everyone and I love how that's represented on the show.

As a bicoastal Disney nerd, I'd love to see Tom Bell pop in on the show more often.

Okay, this is a crazy idea that will probably make people groan, but how about a segment where the team splits up and does a Disney race - each person starts at a different Disney hotel and they have to get to a certain theme park and they time the results? I'm thinking it could be both informative (we'd learn about the transportation options from each resort) and hilarious (video footage of the podcasters' own version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles).

Honestly, whatever you guys do will be awesome as long as you continue to bring your love of Disney to the show. I'm hooked.

I LOVE THIS! That would be such a cool thing to see. Like a DIS Unplugged Amazing Race!

For me the show(s) are what get me through the week and I am so glad they are always working on something for us. Such a dedicated crew, some things I would like to see more of is:

-More Kathy/Tess (possibly JL) segments. They are like Thelma and Louise and are absolutely hilarious.
-More in the parks, (the food and wine video comes to mind) and maybe interviewing people on the street. That would make for good video for sure, LOL!
-Less Dustin hosting, Dustin is great at his job as producer however I do not think he is a solid member of the roundtable as he doesn't really let go of the reigns when he hosts. Many of the comments that I read on this thread said things like the conversation not flowing and healthy debate not occurring. I feel like that is because Dustin kind of stops any excess conversation as he may see it as bad content. The off-topic and healthy debate is what makes the show great.
-More John and Kevin is always welcomed as well.
-Pete, you have an excellent story and often when I tell people about you and the show they venture out to watch an episode. You and John are absolute geniuses when it comes to your business.
-I also think show crossover's would be cool. For instance, other Disney youtubers and bloggers would be so cool to be on the show adding to the conversation (seeyareelsoon for example)

Overall, you guys create AWESOME shows and AWESOME content that I have been unable to find anywhere else.

Disneyland podcast suggestion!

Tom why do you talk when the intro music is being played? Pete waits till the music gets softer then says his intro about what podcast ect

I can barely hear you when you do that!

What about segments on the history of the attractions? Any backstory, who designed it, when did it open, how has it changed over the years...stuff like that. I recall in one 7 in 7 episode, Michael saying that WDW was never supposed to get Pirates, it was supposed to be some sort of Western themed attraction. I find the history really interesting. I know there is more interest in the history of DL vs WDW, but you could figure out a way to make it interesting. It would probably take some digging, but might be good for once a month or something like that.
