Sorry that happened to you. At work, we've given out about 40 Galaxy S4's over the past year or so and only a couple have been broken. The Otterbox case for it is quite good and since they're up to the Galaxy S6 now, genuine Otterbox cases for the S4 should be fairly inexpensive at
Amazon or EBay. (Careful on eBay...make sure its really an Otterbox...some like to use that as a generic term). It is true that if something happens to the Otterbox case, they will replace it, but keep your original packaging and receipt. Otterbox is quite picky about documentation.
Also, do not assume that your phone is unbreakable in an Otterbox. It isn't.
A few comments on above posts:
- The $25 for a new glass cover is probably just that...a replacement for the Gorilla glass cover that protects the screen. That repair would work for a badly scratched screen or one where the glass cracked, but the LED screen underneath is functional.
- When a phone is dropped and the screen breaks, usually (but not always), the phone itself is still functional. If part of the screen is visible, that suggests to me the phone is working. But before getting a new screen and glass installed, look for damage on buttons, the battery compartment, etc. Does the back still snap on and off ok? If there is body damage, it may not be worth fixing.
- Since the phone is so new and you've presumably invested quite a bit in it, I would probably try to get it fixed. If the repair is done properly, your phone should be good as new for considerably less than the cost of a new phone.
