Has anyone done this? I was thinking of signing my kiddos up for it the day we go to that park.

Thanks!

Here is some standard info regarding JTA and it applies if you are not going on a SWW day:

If you are staying at an onsite resort, plan on going to DHS on an EMH morning and as soon as the gates open, head directly to JTA sign-ups with your child. Signing up during EMH is a hidden perk for onsite resort guests!

If you aren't staying onsite, go on a non-EMH morning and get to the gates at least 45 minutes before park opening.

Sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Sound Studio building. The CM will ask your child some questions and will assign him a session which fits into your FP and Dining schedule. Your child will need to report back approximately 30 minutes before his session.

Try to sign up for a morning session. Because of the weather, JTA is often canceled in the afternoons. If the session does get canceled, a brief meet and greet with Vader and Stormtroopers will take place.

20-minute shows
9:20, 10:10, 11:00 & 11:50am, 12:35, 1:05, 1:50, 2:40, 3:25, 4:10, 4:40, 5:30, 6:20, 7:10* & 8:00pm*
*Sunday & Saturday only
Space is limited, and participants (ages 4-12) must be present to register. Please see a Cast Member at the ABC Sound Studio early in the day to make same-day reservations.

Thanks! We are staying at YC, but our arrival day is the only day with EMH's and they are PM hours. This will be in Oct.

Has your kids seemed to enjoy it? Mine are B12,G9,B6.

JTA ia very, very popular with kids and their families.

My DD is a JTA performer and many of the kids and their parents enjoy the show.

If your kids are Star Wars fans, they will enjoy the session. You can always show them a YouTube video of JTA to make sure it is something they want to do. It's best to know they want to do it, otherwise, leave the slots for kids who feel JTA is a high priority.

the other thing to remember is that the child must be present for the sign-up. They will not allow an adult to sign up for a child who isn't actually there.

It depends on the age of the kids. If they are younger they will LOVE it, well worth the effort. Kids towards the older end of the age range will think it is a bit lame. When we did it, they had open spots for perhaps the first hour after rope drop, but that wasn't during prime time and I wouldn't take the chance.

Now to the real problem, the bins of very overpriced build your own light saber parts draw kids like magic.

Is the sign up still in the Sounds Dangerous building? I was thinking I read awhile back that it had moved.

It's still there. The location changes for SWW but for regular park days, it's in the Sounds Dangerous/ABC Studios.

If you're coming from the YC, consider walking (or taking a cab) to HS. We stayed at BC last year and did JTA on our HS day. We were out the door and at the boat dock by 7:30am, but found out there were no boats until 8. No buses either until 8. We ended up walking, which was fine and took about 20 minutes, but I wish I had done my research about what time the boats started running! You really need to be at the tapstiles by 8 or 8:15. JTA is a great experience and my daughters loved it. They want to do it again this summer.

I have done it before and it is very fun - if you are into Star Wars! If you want to get more options for the times you will want to get there earlier. And you have to bring the child with you so if it is just the adult, they will not allow them to sign up. Hope this helped!

I don't know if it's always the case, but the show I watched and the show my kids were in skewed toward the young side, even though I think it goes to age 12. My tall 9.5 year old was among the biggest on stage - not a problem if your child loves Star Wars or being on stage, but they may not like being the biggest otherwise.

Sign ups are very popular and it may be challenging to get all 3 into the same show. You'll have to be fairly flexible with your idea of the day's plans and take what you can at sign-ups in the morning. Even though itinkso's advice is awesome, if you can't go on a morning EMH day, just be sure you get there before opening on a regular day, walk quickly (many people run) directly to sign ups and make sure all 3 go with you to sign up.

It was definitely a trip highlight for my kids (9.5 & 7) and our whole family watching - bring a video camera and consider purchasing memory maker (the Photopass Photographer takes LOTS of pictures of each child during the show)

Wow 2 years ago, in july, both of my kids were able to sign up for JTA mid day. 2 different times. We get rained out 2nd time.. so we got the meet and greet with Vader which was cool..lol
