So, DD just won an auctionpixiedust: for a trip to Disneyland and we're gonna go for the Nov 5th Epilepsy Awareness Day. This is our 1st trip to DL, we have been to WDW several wonderful times. We are already learning how different it is and would love some DIS vets advice.

Here's the basic info...
The trip includes air, 3 nights at Hotel Indigo, 4, 1 day hopper pass and luxury shuttle here in Denver to and from our house to airport. We will spend most of Wednesday at the Epilepsy Expo
We have no idea what that is like, does anyone else?
Also my daughter had a service dog, anyone have experience with that?

I am planning to add 1 night and at least 1 more day to the pass.
Should we add 1 or 2 days to the passes for the world?
Is it worth it to move on site for 1 night? Any real benefits?
Best way to get to hotel from Airport, John Wayne I believe?
Is there a local shuttle in the motel area around DL to the park?
What is a fun place to eat at?

What else do I need to know?

Thanks, YO

Unless you purchase the Premier Annual Pass, Disneyland and Walt Disney World tickets are not interchangeable anymore. So you cannot add days to a Disneyland ticket in hopes of using them in Disney World. With only one or two days in the parks, you'll need to figure out which rides are the highest priority for you and your family. Given the timing of your trip, the parks will probably be operating on shorter hours, but with hopefully lower to moderate crowds.

I recommend checking out HydroGuy's DLR Guide for WDW Vets to help get a sense of the similarities and differences between DLR and WDW.

The main benefit to staying onsite is access to Extra Magic Hour.

Check out the Disneyland Dining Thread for lots of photos and reviews.

It looks like you're going to be at DLR after HalloweenTime ends, but before the Holidays get started. It's worth noting that fireworks, F!, and Mad T Party are generally only presented on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the non-peak season. WoC is usually presented nightly. We do not yet know what the schedule will be for Paint the Night (the nighttime parade).

Thanks figment, I didn't mean WDW when I said the world I just kinda space it out. I have 1 day pass to DL and was wondering about adding to it 1 day for sure and maybe 2 if we are going to have much time.

Thanks for the HydrosGuys link, I'll check it out.

It will depend on the hoppers if they can be upgraded. If they say on the back that they're promotional or convention rate then they can't be upgraded. You may have to buy a second set of tickets. If you do have to buy a new set of tickets you can always get non-hoppers, then just hop on the one free day. You may also be able to buy convention rate tickets if they're offered through the expo.
