I'm reading thru the forums doing research for our trip. What is special about the BOG meals? It seems that reservations are hard to get and I'm wondering what makes it worth it. Thanks.

The theming has the power to reduce first timers to tears.

The food at lunch has to be the best QS in any of the parks.

Dinner is full of extra little touches that add to the experience.

Reports are breakfast is quite good plus you get the advantage of being able to beat the rope drop crowd to A&E or SDMT.

It's the best themed dining outside of the castle I've ever seen.

Would it be appropriate for 9 year old boys, or would they not "get it"?

There's nothing to get. It's just a really cool venue, with some really cool effects you won't see in any other restaurant. Even if you haven't seen the movie, I think anyone could appreciate the artwork, the fact that it "snows" year round in Florida, and that they can make thunder and lightening happen inside. Of course, my kids' favorite thing about BOG is the dessert cart--that is likely what a 9 year old boy is going to take the most interest in!

In addition to the venue, I think the food is a step above other TS restaurants. We're finally doing both lunch and breakfast on our next trip in June, and I'm looking forward to having some new choices in the CS realm.

I think it would be lovely for 9 year old boys. It is quiet gender neutral I think with the Beast and Belle. The Castle is just lovely. All kids would appreciate that. I know I did as an adult!

I thought that the food at dinner was great! My husband said that it was the best steak that he has ever had and it was nice to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with our meals in the Magic Kingdom. Also, the restaurant/castle has such a great theme and amazing details. Then at the end of the meal, you can take a picture with the Beast so it has an added character interaction to it. I can't wait to go there again for dinner (hopefully).

Can anyone share an opinion on whether lunch or dinner here is better? I was thinking to make lunch reservations because it seems like one of the better counter service deals (dining plan) but also don't want to miss out on too much "magic" if dinner is significantly more special. Thoughts?

Don't know about dinner, but lunch was great! It was our 1st meal of our trip last year, and it was yum! The castle is pretty cool, and even my husband enjoyed the whole experience.

For lunch it is counter service, and for dinner it's table service. I think it's the only (or at least one of the few?) counter services that accept reservations.

BOG is a counter service for breakfast and lunch, but a table service for dinner. However, all three meals require reservations.

I think part of the draw is that it's still pretty "new". Many people who go every other year or every 3 years haven't had a chance to go yet so it's a must do.

It's beautiful inside, especially if you are a Beauty and the Beast fan. The food was good and our server was amazing. I have food allergies and they had quite a few options for me which was nice. We were so happy to get to do it

It's good. I was there when it opened in 2012 and went again 2013 and twice in 2014 all fro dinner. I am going to attempt the breakfast but HAHAHAHA not going to make or break the trip. It is beautiful inside and really other than CRT its the best TS in MK IMHO

QUESTION - if 1 person in your party has an 8:00am dining reservation, can the rest of the people in the party enter the park with them??

I don't care about the food.. I just want to experience getting to see the inside of it!
Good food helps though :)

From my understanding only the # of people the reservation is for will be allowed in... if the reservation is for 4 people only 4 will be allowed in...

Had lunch there last summer. The food was just okay. Theming is elaborate but the spaces are so large and crowded it was like lunch in a noisy barn. We have no reason to go back. I know a lot of people love it but I think it's highly over rated.
