My Not So Magical Moment from this Past Weekend

It was time for the parade and we went to Frontierland to watch it. We had our three year old granddaughter with us to watch it and she didn't want to stay in her stroller (we didn't have her strapped in because of getting her out frequently for rides and such). It was about ten minutes before the parade so I decided just to sit by her so she wouldn't get up. I was up near the rope and out of the path. I don't take issue with someone nudging me by accident because I know there are a lot of people trying to get by but when someone rams into me with a stroller hard and says, "Sorry, just trying to use the WALKING path here." Really rude like. I take issue with that. I am pretty sure the guy did it on purpose. I mean you are at Disney. Give me a break with the attitude. It hurt too. I have back problems and that so didn't help with trying to walk for the rest of the day. I was just one of a ton of people sitting there so why did he have to take issue with me?

Purposely ramming into someone is inexcusable, and is a crime. It's called battery. That person was a jerk. Hope you're ok.
Thank you, It took a good bit of effort on my part to get up and I hurt the rest of the day but I probably shouldn't have been down there in the first place. I wanted to keep DG in the stroller and happy until the parade started (the things we do for these grandkids!) I guess I just didn't realize I would be assaulted from behind! I don't know if he was having a bad day or what and couldn't get through but if he would have asked me to scoot up I would have. It really hurt!! I don't understand why people do things like that. They can clearly see the area roped off and people sitting there for the parade, it's not like I was sitting there blocking the walking path because I had nothing better to do and I was up near the rope. It was just completely ugly!

Bully types like to pick on people that they perceive as easy targets.
Since you're a female and were with a Grandchild he probably used this to impress his friends with his "macho".
I've dealt with that type of rear end for all of my adult life.
Eventually he'll mess with the wrong person and wake up in an ER, if he's lucky.

You poor thing! I agree with the poster who said that is battery. We don't even bother with the parades anymore because it's always a vicious experience, between pushing and shoving and people jumping in front of your kids as soon as it started, no matter how long you have waited there. I'm sorry you had this experience and hope you realize it wasn't your fault in any way. This story just makes me sick.

There is no excuse. None. In my Pollyanna mind, I usually tend to think like you and assume they are having a really bad day. Maybe its because I've worked retail for 20 yrs but I really appreciate the kind people of the world and try not to let the rude ones upset me. Now when you are knocked over by them, its much more difficult to forgive and move on. One of my retail mentors would tell me "at least I don't have to live with him! Maybe by yelling at us, he'll be nicer to his family tonight." I always liked that perspective. Sorry you had a not-so-magical experience and I hope the rest of your day had plenty of smiles despite your pain.

So sorry this happened to you. What a jerk! When I first started reading your post, I thought you were going to say that someone cut in front of your granddaughter right before the parade started - we've had that happen plenty of times. While I can understand some frustration with trying to get by with a stroller when people ARE blocking the walking path, you said you were NOT blocking it, and even if you were, a simple "Excuse me, can I get by please?" would have sufficed. I hope this was an isolated incident and the rest of your trip was truly magical!

Everyone occasionally encounters rude people. I don't understand the need to start threads like this. It's silly to still be venting about such a small incident.

What may seem like a small incident to you may mean more to the OP.
If you don't think that this is an important thread, just move on. No one asked for your opinion specifically.

OP, so sorry that happened to you, hope you're feeling better!

Angry people...especially men...tend to be one of the hazards of a Disney trip. I always deal with it by thinking, "Thank heaven I only had to deal with that jerk for 20 seconds...I pity his wife for having to live with THAT!"

I would absolutely be in the crowd telling to OP to Taylor Swift it and "shake it off"... except she got injured by the jerk. That's completely unacceptable and would be upsetting to anyone.

I'm so sorry that you had that experience! That is DEFINITELY battery. Glad things didn't escalate too much.
