Curb the Exchange Rate Promotion?

So we are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside in July for a week and decided yesterday to upgrade to a Royal Room at the hotel as well as add on the dining package for the family. The total was supposed to be $983 US for the dining plan and $217 for the room upgrade but because of a "curb the exchange rate promotion" for Canadians it ended up being $664 US for everything! I cant seem to find any info about this. Has anyoen heard of this?

I would love more info on this. You call Disney to make the change and the CM gave you the revised price and mentioned the promo? Did you ask any questions about he details?

If this is anything like what happened to me last year ..... I was in the process of booking a FD package at CBR when i dropped my mouse and my browser closed. I was mid transaction and never got an e-mail confirming ... no reservation number to check ... i was panicking while i was on hold for about 45 minutes. After the CM stopped giggling over how i had "lost my mouse tail" i could hear lots of typing and she said quietly "you're looking for the Canadian Dining Promotion? " Uhm, yeah i guess so" ... long and short?? The price i was quoted and actually paid was close to two THOUSAND less than i had accepted on-line

When i called in later to add a request to be away from the smoking section the CM said "i have no idea what code is attached to this reservation but if I was you i'd pay the balance before Mickey finds out!" So yes, in our case Free Dining was truly FREE!! better than free even.

The travel agent just called it, "curb the exchange rate promotion" like I said. But i didnt see it on the disneyworld website so I was wondering if anyone else had heard of it?

I've never heard of this promo. Sounds great though!! The exchange is so terrible right now.

Wow never heard of this promo. I just booked one night at the WL (going on a 7-day cruise after) and I almost fell off my chair when I saw the exchange rate on my credit card. That one night is almost the same price as my son's 7-day cruise fare.

Hi, I am a travel agent and I am on the phone with Disney right now. The cast member I am talking to does not know about this but is asking if anyone would be willing to give us their reservation number so that he can look at it for the offer code. Once he has an offer code he can key it in and find out what exactly the offer entails particularly what the dates are that it is good for and how it works. Woudl anyone that has the offer be willing to help us figure out the answers?

Or perhaps if you're not comfortable giving out your reservation number, you could call Reservations and ask what the promo code is that was used and share that, so others have a chance to see if the deal helps us as well. I called last week too and the CM I spoke to knew nothing about it as well.

I would love to know as well.....I'm considering booking for either end of August or early Nov.

LoveDisneyMom, is there anyway you'd be willing to phone Disney back and ask what promo code was used for the upgrade and dining plan portion of your reservation? Inquiring minds want to know and would be forever grateful :flower3:

I just called to ask about it. The person I spoke to was not very informative at all though. She did not even know about the 180 day mark for dining. She could find nothing about it. I feel bad for these people that are hired there but don't know half the stuff people asking questions do. Must be very overwhelming.

Hey guys..sorry I just checked this thread now. I dont know if Disney will give me the info since we used a travel agent to book? When I called before they wouldnt give me other info and just told me to call my travel agent. This is so strange that no one seems to know what it is.
