First Time Water Park Tips

Please tell me what I need to know and what I need to take into the park? Thanks - this is our first time into the water park side and I'm a little unsure.

Waterproof sunscreen - Coppertone Sport Spray (in the blue can) really stays on in the water.

Water shoes - the pavement can get really hot.

You can rent a locker for your valuables - that's a really good idea. Then you can just keep your sunscreen, etc. at your chair.

You can also rent towels, which is what I do - then you don't have to bring wet towels back to your hotel room.

Bottled water, too - you can get really hot sitting in the sun!

Have fun!

Take a couple of quart or gallon ziplock bags to store your electronics/phones.

Water shoes! I never wear them anywhere else, but like ZoZo says, the pavement at Disney water parks can get really hot. We were frantically running from puddle to puddle to cool our feet the first time we went.

We put everything we bring into a rental locker and don't even bother with chairs. We just go from one ride/pool/lazy river/snack bar to the next until it's time to leave!

Is there a place to change/shower off, or do you have to wear your wet clothes back to the hotel to change there?

We have our car, so we might drive, but was wondering about the wet suits, etc.. We were there 15 years ago, but I do not remember what was there for drying off.

There are changing rooms near the locker area and rinse off stations through out each park. You didn't say what park you were going to but if it's Blizzard Beach, do the big slides early. The lines can get very long. If it's Typhoon Lagoon, the wave pool can get very crowded. I recommend looking at the park maps in advance and trying to find a place you think you'd like to "park" for the day and stake a claim early. Getting premium space like in shade can be a challenge.
You can bring snacks with you too in this park and I'd recommend it. There is no sit down option in the parks only quick service.

Thanks! Great news. We are going to be there for 7 days, so are planning on doing both of the water parks. My wife loves them, I can take or leave them. :)

learn the maps before you go. get a locker rental. dont miss the snorkel lagoon in Typhoon Lagoon. We missed it on our first trip b/c we didnt know about it and it was hidden so we missed it. get the 'garbage pail' ice cream it is awesome and huge!

Saw a you tube video of that.. Is there an upside down ship there as well? My girls were watching it and thought it looked cool.

I like the lazy river innertube things myself. Slow, and steady is my preference. :)
