Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

Looking for some training advice - trying to keep my goals in perspective :)

I just ran the EEC 5k this weekend, and I'm doing a local half marathon on Mother's Day. I'm hoping to save a couple of minutes off my half time for a PR as this will likely be my last race before the DDD PoT cutoff.

My normal workout routine for the past month has been 3-4 high-intensity yoga classes per week, and about 2 short runs per week. I got a little burned out on running last month, so I cut back on the frequency and length of my runs for the past few weeks.

This week, I'm planning on 2 yoga classes, and *maybe* 1 short shakeout run midweek. I normally do best with at least two rest days before a "big" race, so my last workout will be Thursday AM.

Trying to get some perspective on whether this is pushing myself too much if I want to be fresh for a PR on Sunday. I've been working really hard on keeping up with my exercise habits to continue with my fitness and weight loss journey, but I'm concerned I may be pushing myself a touch too much this week to be well rested for Sunday. Maybe just one yoga class and the short shakeout run is better? My late week yoga class tends to be more intense, so I'm considering skipping that one to make sure my legs aren't too fatigued on Sunday.

Obviously you know your comfort and fitness levels best, but if it were me.........I would definitely do the "shakeout" run to keep the rust off, but probably skip the intense yoga workout. You want to be healthy, rested, and CONFIDENT to have a good race. Best of luck!

I'm pretty sure runDisney is tired of me calling and asking at this point. :(

Thank you for contacting RunDisney. Your call is very important to us and someone will be with you in approximately...........whenever we get around to it! :sad2:

"I'm sorry, ma'am. We still don't have an ETA for you."

Every time I see that someone has replied to this thread, I jump in my chair a little bit. Time to chill out!! :rotfl:

While we anxiously wait for the race weekend theme, I would like to know: what exactly are Vinylmations used for? I saw them for the first time this past weekend and the Wikipedia page isn't helping me much. Are they just collectible figurines?

Thanks!

They are really cute. And somewhat small. About 3" tall. Here is ours compared to a bobblehead you get at a baseball game. Go Nationals!
