Do many members just take a loss on their holding points?

So we are back from our "holding point" trip for F&G. It was awesome. I think booking inside 60 days was part of the magic -- it was a perfect lead time for my level of patience and anticipation for a rare 'vacation' visit to WDW!

We have met several families who don't use their points each year, don't bank and just lets them expire.

OMG! I have been a DVC member since late 1991 ( before OKW was built ) and I have 400 points. I have never lost even one point in all these years. I make sure to use them all every year. If I don't think I can go anywhere, I rent them. Had holding points twice and used them for last minute trips, and once for Concierge collection. They are so valuable, I would feel bad letting them go to waste!!
