Just curious-- what are the hardest rooms to get at WDW?

Based on what I've been reading, it seems as if AKV club and GFV studios re the hardest rooms to get even at 11mo.

What rooms types are then the most difficult to get in order of difficulty? BLT std Studios, followed by BWV studio and grand villa? Or does it just depend on the season?

Forgive me if there's a thread on this already.

There's probably quite a few threads on this, but it does vary quite a bit on season. BLT studios can be tough during holidays, as well as GFV. BWV and YC both can be very tough during food and wine first for studio then for others. In general if you're within walking distance of an resort of along the monorail those will be a bit tougher, with studios being the first to go.

Basically the fewer of something there are, the harder they are to get. To me, this is the hardest to get categories in order - and this would apply to whatever room size you would be looking for. (I also included the GFVs for studios because they are extremely hard right now - but I don't think 1- and 2- bedrooms there are as hard.) The other thing that probably should go in there somewhere is the Poly, but how hard that will be long-term is TBD, so I can't go further than that..

AKL Concierge
AKL Value
GFV (Studios mainly)
BLT Standard
BWV Standard
BLT MK View
BWV Boardwalk View

After that - the GCV in DLR is the hardest to get into at 7 months. Then probably after VGF, it's BCV, then BWV, BLT, WL, AKL, OKW, SSR.

Anybody reading this thread who needs a HA room probably knows that they are very limited. At BWV there is only one HA 2 bedroom with a BW view. That can be divided into a studio and a 1 bedroom. So if someone books a HA 2 bedroom there are zero HA studios and zero HA bedrooms. If someone books a BW view HA studio or a 1 bedroom, then there are zero HA BW view 2 bedrooms. I am sure similar other resorts have similar issues with HA rooms. Since we need a HA room we try to always book 11 months out.

I would add to the list Grand Villas at resorts that only have 6 total, like BWV, Vero Beach, etc. One must be ready to strike the moment the inventory is released, as a rule. In the old days where the 11/7 month rules were from check-OUT, folks would call into Members Services one day at a time to try and snag their rez's for GV's.
