AP questions! I need your expert advise :)

Hello everyone!
Our family of four has purchased deluxe APs and will be activating them during our trip this June. We are driving down from Northern California on June 27th and will get to DLR around 3:00 pm. That Saturday is a blockout day.

Here are my questions:
Will we be able to enter the park that day even though it is a blockout day? Does it just depend on what CM you get at the gate whether or not you get in? Normally we wouldn't worry about it, but it is both my daughter's birthday (turning 5), and mine. It would be fun to celebrate it with dinner in the parks and ride a few rides.

We are planning on on doing a trip next June as well. If we activate on June 27th this year, will our last day be June 27th of 2016, or can we get in on June 28th of 2016?

Thanks!

We activated our pass on a blockout day last June. We took our papers straight to the gate in the morning. They let us in and gave us a temporary ticket that we had to take to the ticket booth later; they recommended that we go in the middle of the day when lines are shorter. We also had to get photos taken at the photo shop. After we went to the ticket booth they gave us our new AP cards and a "blockout" pass that was good for the day. To get into the parks we were supposed to show both the AP and the pass. It was not difficult at all, and it is allowed, certainly not a CM by CM decision.

If you activate on June 27, 2015, then the last valid day of your pass will be June 27, 2016.

True, but Saturday, June 26 will be a blockout date for them anyway. So they'd just need to go at least a week before and end the trip no later than June 25, 2016.

It's a leap year, Saturday will be the 25th. They could always renew at the ticket booths on Saturday or make Saturday a non-park day. But generally planning a trip around a weekend or holiday when a certain level of AP wasn't blocked one year can be a gamble. People have been surprised when blockout dates were released that a weekend that was unblocked one year is blocked the next either for some new event or promotion or because Disney makes an adjustment. Planning to end the trip on the 24th the following year is less riskier than going for the 26th and 27th when the Sunday might be blocked.

So they always let you in the first day you activate your pass even if it is a blockout day? Does the fact that they got rid of the blockout passes you can purchase affect that?

The elimination of blockout day tickets that you could purchase has had no effect on blockout day tickets that are issued with first day of use, upgrades, or in person renewals.
