Loop 100 Cabin

We took a family trip to the Fort this past Oct and camped in the 100 loop. My DH and I were talking about taking an adults only trip to Disney World. We loved the campground, but if it is just two of us we don't want to pull the 30' travel trailer down. So, we love the idea of the cabins and were wondering, other than just requesting it on your reservation, how do you get one of the two cabins on the 100 loop? I guessing it is luck of the draw. I loved staying so close to the boat dock. I really enjoyed going to bed with the music from the water patent and waking up to the sound of the boat horns.

Word is those are VIP cabins. Once for sure maybe twice in the 7 years I been on the Dis I've heard of people just being lucky enough to get one.

I've heard the VIP rumor too, but one trip we had the site right across the road. I talked to the family that was in one and they were normal people :). Dad, mom and 2 kids. They laughed when I mentioned the VIP part.

They may be "special use" and are assigned out normally if there aren't any important people coming in. Not sure.

Yes they are for VIPs but when not being used by them they can and have gotten put into the hopper for assignment to regular folks. The one thing is, though, that they aren't given by request or else they'd stay slap full all the time. So it's strictly luck-of-the-draw. As Denise said, we've had DIS folks in the past get to stay there.

We have stayed in the cabins multiple times and my wife always requested the 100 loop. The only time we got is was when we went down for our 20th wedding anniversary. Guess it pays to keep asking.

When we stayed in the 300 loop about a decade ago, an older couple and their granddaughter were in their 5th wheel next to us. One evening the woman/child came back to the camper and found the man passed away. Disney handled it fabulously, including putting the survivors up in the 100 loop cabin for free for a few nights til everything could be straightened out. I ran into her two days later, and even though she was heartbroken, she said it couldn't have happened at a nicer place, that she had been treated like gold. (Not how I want to get to use that cabin, though ;)....)

I thought I had wanted one of those 2 cabins but then I realized that the entire world would be walking/riding past it all day and all night as they go to the beach or boat launch. It's also not that quiet. While I would love the convenience, and would love to hear the music from wishes,, privacy and quiet is more important so I stopped asking for it.

We decided against the cabins this time. I got a "magical deal" for Yacht Club. Since this will be an adults only trip, it will be nice to walk to Epcot in the evenings.

We have camping reservations in the Fall. So, we will be back to the Fort soon enough.

I still love the thought of staying in one of the loop 100 cabins. Maybe someday……….
