That is way cheap, can it be done maybe....??????

If I was packing it in - sure I could! To actually eat CS there, I would say you would need $80-$100/day for a family of 4 with splitting meals to manage.

Ran the numbers again based on going during Value season...and the numbers are much closer. They might as well spend the extra $200 then they have the benefits of onsite plus they will get the food overload of QSDP.

***EDIT - adjusting calculations based new dates of Aug 29 - Sep 3***
Onsite at All Star Sports (or Music) with QSDP, 5 nights (Aug 29 - Sep 3)
4 day + WPF&M
Food - free QSDP
Total: $2119.96 (2 nights less + switch to Value Season so $800 cheaper - Yay!)

Offsite at a nearby hotel with free breakfast, 5 nights (Aug 29 - Sep 3): $300
4 day base from UT: $1287.80
Food - Free breakfast + pack own food - $50 x 5 days: $250
Parking - $17 x 4 days: $68
Driving so no car rental needed
TOTAL: $1905.80

Hmmm...thinking about Value season, maybe they don't need to stay onsite at Universal. I'm just throwing out some numbers here and thinking aloud if they stayed at Disney even for the Universal portion of their trip...

All Star Sports, 7 nights (Aug 29 - Sep 5)
Disney tix: 4 day WPF&M
Food: Free QSDP
WDW pkg total: $2350.48
Universal tix: 2 day park-to-park: $771.08
Pack food for Universal: $50 x 2 days: $100
Parking - $17 x 2 days: $34
TOTAL: $3255.56
