So who wants to talk about some Disney food and look at Disney food porn? I KNOW I SURE DO! :lmao:

I just returned from a whirlwind weekend of OM NOM NOMing it up at WDW, and now I'm here to share my experiences with you fine folks! I hope you enjoy it! :goodvibes

About Me:

Me: Billie ::MinnieMo (34), Travel Agent & Full-Time Princess

I have been to WDW quite a few times, I love it with all my heart. This was my second SOLO trip, and I had a blast. It was probably the quickest trip I've ever taken, and I was determined to stuff it full of good times... and GOOD EATS! (And as you can see from my photo... I likes to eat. )

Where?

In this report, I'll be recapping my experiences at the following lounges, eateries and restaurants:

Boma
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory (x2)
Be Our Guest
Sunshine Tree Terrace
Storybook Treats
Kusafiri Bakery and Coffee Shop
Sunshine Seasons
Flower & Garden Festival Outdoor Kitchens
Yorkshire County Fish Shoppe
Ohana

Hope you enjoy reading about my experiences as much as I enjoyed having them! :cutie:

Dinner

My drive in from South Carolina was wildly delayed by traffic, and I didn't arrive for my 9:00pm ADR until 9:20pm... just 10 scant minutes before they stop seating for the night. Eek! :scared: I called Disney Dining while I was stuck on I-4, and they called the restaurant to let them know what was up, and they assured me they would still seat me as long as I checked in before 9:30pm. And barely made it, and probably wouldn't have if I hadn't sprung for valet parking!

Anyhow, I tell this story so you'll understand how very much I deserved this...

African Rum Runner: Pink Pigeon African Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Creme de Banana, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice, and Grenadine.

It was exactly what I needed to sooth my nerves and get my vacation started finally!

Yum yum yum!

And then it was on to the noms! I took photos of the "pods" but none of them turned out well, so you're stuck with my three deliciously carnivorous plates:

Let's see if I can remember and name all of this...

I know it was a Carved Beef Flank Steak in the center. It was flavored well, but a little too cooked for me, as my preference is medium rare.

Then clockwise from the top is a Mediterranean-style salmon that I LOVED. :lovestruc I'm not normally a big salmon person, but the seasonings that they used for cooking this were outstanding, and it had olives and capers and tomatoes with it and it was really QUITE surprisingly delicious.

Next is the Durban-Style Roasted Chicken, which was also absolutely amazing.

After that is the Pork Shoulder, which was cooked to perfection.

Then the Beef Bobotie, which is always a hit.

And finally, Fufu. Just because I like the name. And it's tasty, too. Win/Win!

So, of course, I had to go back for Round 2...

More chicken, pork, and salmon. Because I'm relatively certain that in my previous life, I was a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

And finally... Desserts!

Clockwise from Top:

Cassava Cake: This was weird. Not weird bad, just weird weird. And it also tasted vaguely familiar at the same time, and never could put my finger on why. Glad I tried it, but not something I would get again.

Guava Panna Cotta: This was lovely, and every bit as smooth and light as a panna cotta should be.

Zebra Dome: Classic and scrumptious as usual.

Kenyan Coffee Tart: Now THIS was amazing. I think something may have finally surpassed the ubiquitous Zebra Dome as my most favorite dessert at Boma! I was actually thinking of going back up for a few more, but then looked around and realized I was the only customer left in the place... and just asked for my check instead.

Key Lime Cheesecake: I love key lime, and I love cheesecake... but this was a disappointment. Sigh.

That drink sounds wonderful and spot on after the drive!

What is fufu? It sounds fun whatever it is!

I have yet to try a zebra dome, but I hear they are delicious!

I'm here to read about all the deliciousness!! Too bad that lime cheesecake was disspointing...it sure "looked" good..sigh. But everything else sounds pretty amazing. I've been debating about whether or not to take my DD (age 9) there next time we go...but I'm not sure...
