Least expensive cab fare from ASM to get groceries

What s the best transportation option to get groceries from ASM? How does that work when you want to get back - how do you arrange for a cab back?

We don't have cabs where we live - so I am not sure how this works.

You have a couple of options. There is a supermarket called Goodings in walking distance from Downtown Disney, but it is extremely expensive. I think you may end up cheaper taking a cab to Winn Dixie. I imagine it would be about $ 25 one way for the fare including tips. If you just want a few small things, using your resort store for water, soda etc might be cheaper.

Taking a cab to Winn Dixie would be about $35 each way. The Publix at Orange Lake Town Center is much closer and would be around $25. You can either call a second cab to come and get you when you're done or have the original cab wait, but keep in mind that you have to pay 60 cents per minute while it's waiting.

You could rent a car for less than what a cab will cost you.

Or you could save time and money by having your groceries delivered. Check out gardengrocer.com or wegoshop.com

The Publix @ Water Tower Shoppes in Celebration is a little bit closer than Orange Lake. It might cut a buck or 2 off the cab fare. It also has particularly glowing reviews on Yelp.

Another option is to take Disney Transport to Downtown Disney and get a cab from there to Walmart on Vineland Ave. It's around $20 with tip. It will cost nearer $30 to get back if you go straight to Allstars via Osceola Parkway from Walmart. Make sure you take your wallet however! After filling a cart with groceries I realised I only had my magic band and my wallet was sitting in the hotel room safe at Coronado Springs! I had just paid the taxi the fare with cash I had in my pants pocket - ended up being a rather expensive double trip!

we use a town car service from the airport to the resort...they give you a thirty minute store stop....so for a 135 dollar round trip or 145 for a van ..thirty minute stop...and they pick you up at the bottom of the escalator at Orlando airport, and then deliver you ...and pick you up at the allotted time...it is worth a little bit more..

I second using garden grocer.com. It is a bit more expensive than shopping at home, but I think the total would be less than the round trip taxi fare. They will deliver to Bell Services before you arrive, if you want and Bell Services can refrigerate items as necessary. I have been very pleased with their service.

Have used Garden Grocer twice and plan on using them again in Nov. Very easy to use.
