Roll call......December 19th-January 2nd. The kids and I are getting away to our happy place during the first anniversary of my husband's passing. Our first time at CBR. Looking forward to it.

What is the likelihood of getting a room with the extra bed if we are only a party of 4? It would save a lot of fighting at night if I can separate the kids.

Enjoy your trip!

Please add us to the roll call! Miracles do happen... managed to land a standard room that sleeps 5 for our stay December 18-27st with FD this morning around 3:45! We honeymooned here in 1999... excited to finally be able to show it to the kids. Happy dancing!!:rainbow:

Please remove us from the Beach Bum Roll Call since we had to change resorts to get FD. Our dates were 9/30-10/10. Thank you!

I'm scared!!!!! LOL!! In a good way...this Deluxe only mama snagged a standard room for Nov 10-19...before we move to GF for a couple of nights. Please tell me we will like it!!! It saved us over $4000 (even after upgrading to deluxe dining), so I couldn't justify our other stay. My kiddies are 6 and 9. We walk ALOT here at home, so I don't think we will find it too much.

How does everyone find the buses? Are they busy? If we called a cab, does it come to our country or the custom house? Same for parking if we rented a car? This is our first moderate stay, and honestly, we are excited!!!

I have not stayed a deluxe before but love CBR. The resort is beautiful and the pool is really nice. The walks are not bad and we have even stayed at Trinidad North (pirate rooms) which are the farthest away and it was still an easy walk to the pool and OPR. We did not have any problems with the buses during our stay and even though there are a couple of villages that the busses go to within the resort once they have picked up then they head straight to the parks. Congrats on saving $4000 and I hope you love CBR!
Also the cabs will pick you up outside of your village.

My daughter and I just returned from a great stay at CBR. It is definitely my favorite moderate resort now. The new queen beds were so comfortable, and the decor was lovely. I must say we were pixie dusted with the standard room we got, it was Martinique 2320, ground floor. The room was steps from the bus stop, and a very close walk to OPR. The bus service was outstanding! We never waited more than 5 minutes at either the parks or the resort for any bus. I wish we were still there!

Just returned yesterday from our first stay at CBR. Overall, enjoyed the resort but the only other Disney resort I have to compare it to is 2 stays at AKL. We stayed 6 nights in Jamaica building 43. Fairly good location and about a 7 minute walk to OPR and less than 5 minute walk to bus stop.

Pros: Beautiful resort. I liked the décor (the dark wood reminded me of AKL). Housekeeping was for the most part good (twice did not leave enough towels so we had to call and get more). Bus transportation was great! The entire trip we waited less than 5 minutes for buses. Only on one occasion did we wait more than 5 minutes and that was one evening going to DTD. Only once did we have to stand; however, Jamaica did seem to be the first pick-up area. My dd loved the pools.

Cons: The food court! Having to order from multiple stations when different family members want different things is crazy. By the time you wait in line 3 different times for 3 different meals and pay, the food from the first 2 stations is cold. If I ever stayed here again, I would make sure to not have to eat any meals here. Our room happened to be facing a smoking area. This was not a problem at all. However, in order to walk to OPR we had to walk right through the smoking section. I just wish they could find somewhere else to put the smoking section (not that I am against people smoking my dd just has terrible allergies!). There were some Cheerleader groups arriving later this week. I am interested to see how this weekend went for people staying there now. While at the quiet pool on Thursday, I had to keep my daughter to a certain side of the pool away from them due to their language and talking about sex. Their coach/mom was sitting right by them and did nothing. It was just irritating that little ears were there and they were so disrespectful. Also, one of them was sitting by the pool (not in the smoking section) smoking away. These groups would probably make me want to go back to staying Deluxe!

our room was facing a courtyard, 2320 in martinique. At first I thought "How Lovely". Then a woman came out in her Pajamas and sat down and smoked!! I thought it was not smoking, but then I realized that the flowerpot planters with black sand near the benches were ashtrays! Yuck. I'm sorry, but I just can't believe that the entire courtyard was set aside for smokers! IMHO, not fair. There are just too many smoking areas in Disney in general. I hate it.

Please add us to the roll call. There will be 13 of us in 3 rooms from 10/26 - 11/7. Another 3 will join us 10/31 - 11/7.

My two sons that are in the Army will be going! I'm so excited to see them. It's been far too long - they are both stationed on the opposite side of the country.

I'm also very excited to stay at CBR as we usually stay at POR. This thread helped me decide to make the change!

We snagged free dining at CBR Dec. 15-22! Never stayed there before. Have stayed at POR and POP before. We are a family of 5 and booked in a standard room. Where are most of the rooms for 5 located at?

From what I've read they are scattered throughout the resort except, I believe, there aren't currently pirate rooms that sleep 5. We have a few days of overlap! Maybe we will see you there. :)

Oh how wonderful and special. Thank you to your sons for their service and I hope this time together is everything you dreamed of. :thumbsup2

Wanted to let you all know that I was just saw a post on Facebook from another site. He went to the CBR and asked about the pirate room refurbs. He was told that it is just a soft refurb...replacing mattresses, touch-ups, etc. Will keep you posted when or if I see anything else.

Does anyone know if you can request to be away from smoking areas? My DDs and myself are all extremely allergic to smoke and would like to avoid them, and definitely have our room far away from them.

Just like at any resort, or park, there can be issues. But in general, we have not had any issues with the buses during our stays at CBR.

If we called a cab, does it come to our country or the custom house?

It will come pick you up at the circular drive of your village.

Same for parking if we rented a car?

There is parking near every village.

Is there a map of CBR sort of like this one of Pop that shows where most preferred/water view/standard rooms are in general?

We upgraded from Pop to CBR last week & now with free dining upgraded rooms from standard to water view so Id like a general idea of where rooms are located so I can figure out my requests

I found a few when I googled Caribbean Beach Resort Map (but the images keep giving me an error if I try to post).

Hello Heidi from Canada, from a fellow Canuck :clown: I have the same issue with smoke allergies. I called and had them add to my reservation that i would like our room to be as far away from a smoking section as possible and to have it noted as a medical request. I also if they could please put down that i would like our room to get a thorough cleaning (forget the actual term they used) I was told this would be taken care of and we were extremely pleased with our room location. We did have to wait for our room to be ready but it was more than worth it.

There's a map in post #1. All the rooms inTrinidad North and all roons in Martinique 24, 25 and 26 are preferred.

There's water view rooms in every building. They will be in the areas facing the lake or a quiet pool.
