Bibbidi-Bobbidi-DEUX our own kind of marathon ~ A Nov '14 TR ~ Updated 11/2 ~ THE END

We checked in for our 12:15 ADR at The Wave!

We were seated quickly and started looking over the menu. I was starving, so everything sounded SO good!

I started off with a Odwalla All-Natural Lemonade topped with wildberry foam

Yum!

For my entrée, I picked the Short Rib Sammy- with Black Diamond Cheddar, Pero Farms Giardiniera, and Locally-sourced Arugula on a Parker House Roll

Delicious!

Joe ordered the Classic Reuben Sandwich- served with roasted potato wedges

We ordered 3 kids meals that we split between the four kids.

A cheeseburger, a grilled cheese on rainbow bread (so cool!) and pasta with red sauce (which wasn’t on the menu but they had no problem at all accommodating our request)

So what did we think of The Wave? A+ We will definitely be going back. The food was fresh & delicious, and the service was outstanding. It was a nice, relaxing getaway from the parks (but definitely not too far from the MK to make it there and back quickly.)

Our next matter of business was very important…. we stopped at the Contemporary desk to check into our 1 bedroom Lake-view villa at Bay Lake Tower!!! Eeeeek! BLT does have it’s own check-in desk, but the nice CM at the Contemporary desk was able to check us in since it was right there next to The Wave. Our room wasn’t ready, but we were told that we’d get a text when it was. Next, we stopped at bell services to pick up the double stroller that we had rented. (Yes we are crazy! We brought our own double City mini, and a single City Elite. I was afraid that we would need two doubles by the second half of our trip, so we rented one from Apple Strollers since we had such a good experience with them last trip… and they are the cheapest stroller rental.)

So we hopped on the monorail…. from right INSIDE the resort :woohoo: whoo hoo! And we headed back to MK.

Why Hello there monorail! Oh how we’ve missed you so!

Love the updates! Joe will definitely have to try a Schofferhofer when you guys go next! Best drink in the World Showcase, in my opinion. ;)

I am seriously in awe of the Snow White/7 Dwarfs outfits and the Tiana dresses.. ok and everything else you make.. you are awesome!

The pictures from the Tiana meet are adorable. We met her last time, she is so fun!

4 days in Disney done and we had yet to see the castle

Wow, that just seems... wrong.

I have to hand it to you. That is a gutsy call to change resorts on the same day as a Magic Kingdom morning. Impressive.

Ah the Welcome Show. I will argue until I'm dead (and let's be real, long after that as well) that there is no better way to start any day.

I like your thinking Rachel. Caffeine = priority. I do the exact same thing.

YAY Mine Train. It sure does look like everyone had a ball.

I swear, all the characters must go absolutely nuts with excitement when they see you all coming.

After a quick walk through the queue, we set off on the happiest cruise that ever sailed. Don’t we all look happy?!

Yeah... Happy. And yet I'm terrified just from the photos. :scared1:

You always have so many great photos, but I appreciate this one so very much. Love for Roy just makes me smile. :goodvibes

I absolutely love your outfits and trip report. What special memories you will have to cherish for the rest of your lives.

What a great family pic! The Welcome Show is so magical, glad you all got to see it!!

AWWWW that pic of Bronwyn seeing the castle, SO great!

Great pics with Tiana, I love the outfit change!

Woah at that rainbow grilled cheese!

I am loving your review! I just booked a BLT 1-bedroom villa for our first WDW trip next February. I can't wait to see your pictures and hear about your stay there. We will definitely eat at The Wave!

Somehow I am not getting the email notifications, but glad I found you have updated your TR!
I think seeing the pure joy on little kid's face is the best thing at Disney... those photos are so cute and precious!
Princess Tiana seems so happy to see the kids... again great outfits! BTW, how was the weather? I see Tiana in her winter cape, but you seem to be fine in summer clothes.

You got such great pictures in the morning at MK! Definitely worth getting there a little early!

The welcome show is just the best. No better way to start your MK day! Makes me tear up EVERY time.

That picture of Bronwyn pointing at the castle is PRECIOUS!

Looks like you are having an awesome Disney day :)

Can't wait to hear about BLT!!

as usual the outfits are AMAZING! I loved the twirling pictures and the pointing at the castle. So adorable.
Looks like you had a great meet with Tiana.
I just love seeing the new outfits. Each time I'm wondering what we will see next. They are so beautiful!

So many great updates!! Isn't it just an incredible experience to see the MK gates soooo empty and then get to enjoy the amazing opening show? My favorite part of any MK day, for sure.

Love Jorie's magic shot & Bronwyn's face at seeing the castle...priceless! As are all the kids' faces on 7DMT! We are so excited to finally get to ride it next trip. Fingers crossed for a FP+! When Joe went to use the Rider swap, did he also have to have a FP+? Just curious. We haven't experience rider swatch yet since FP+ took effect. With paper FP, you didn't also have to have a FP to experience using the rider swap pass. Just wondering if that has changed.

I can only imagine how excited Tiana was to see the girls coming in those adorable Tiana dresses!! It looks like she spent quite a bit of time with them. How sweet!

Hi Everyone! I will get back to updating and replying to your comments soon.... for now I wanted to stop in and say that I'll be back home in 3 DAYS!!!! I can't believe our trip is already almost here! I'm so excited to share some details about this trip.

Who? Just Joe and me!!!! .... and for a couple who averages one date night every two years (literally, I'm not exaggerating here) this is a pretty huge deal! We are leaving the kids home (Eeeeeek!) I'm super excited about this, yet completely freaking out at the same time. This will be our first time leaving the kids.... like ever. The grandparents will be taking turns watching them, so I know they will be in good hand... but still.....ahhhhhh!

What? A long weekend Anniversary, Flower & Garden Festival & Expedition Everest Challenge Get-Away!

Where?
1-night at The Villlas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!!! OMG, OMG!!!! (*spoiler alert.... this is our DVC home resort.... so we just HAD to stay here and check out the amazingness! More on that to come later on in the TR)

2-nights at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas

and 1-night at Disney's Saratoga Springs

When? Thursday, April 30th - Monday, May 4th

Why? Joe and I celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary back in October.... so we thought that was good enough reason to get away... just the two of us!

And the beginning of May seemed like the perfect time ...well because
1. Our Southwest credit had to be used by the middle of May lol
2. Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival would still be taking place
3. The final RunDisney Expedition Everest Challenge!!

Doesn't a 5-K Obstacle Course and Scavenger Hunt through Animal Kingdom Park(....at night!!!) sound pretty freakin awesome?! I think so! and Joe did too!

And of course our adventure wouldn't be complete without custom running outfits.... What do you think?

Will we make a good Russel & Kevin? If anyone is at the race and "runs" into us, please stop and say HI!!

I'm going to try my best to post some pics on Instagram... so if you want to check out what we're up to while we are there... you can follow me @TruLovesKiss

Yay for an adult only getaway!!! We arrive on May 2! I am sad that this is the last Everest Challenge, we wanted to try it one year. :sad1:

I LOVE your running outfits!!

Love the updates! Joe will definitely have to try a Schofferhofer when you guys go next! Best drink in the World Showcase, in my opinion. ;)

The pictures from the Tiana meet are adorable. We met her last time, she is so fun!

*spoiler alert* Joe did not get to try a Schofferhofer and he was super bummed about it. But it definitely gives us reason to get back to Epcot sooner rather than later, right?!

Aww, thanks! I wish that I could take credit for making the girls' dresses, but I can't. I wish that I was that talented with a sewing machine. I'll just take credit for planning them hehe. We loved meeting Tiana too! She sent so much time with the kids. She said that we were her first family of "Tianas" that she has ever met. princess:

Wow, that just seems... wrong.

Tell me about it! 4 days was way too long not to have stepped foot in MK! But the second half of our trip we were within walking distance (whoo hoo!) so it only made sense to plan all of our MK days for then.

I have to hand it to you. That is a gutsy call to change resorts on the same day as a Magic Kingdom morning. Impressive.

For a family who ALWAYS runs late, it was very impressive! And to make it in time for the Welcome Show..... SO worth the early morning alarm clock!!!

Ah the Welcome Show. I will argue until I'm dead (and let's be real, long after that as well) that there is no better way to start any day.

Yes the characters tend to go nuts when the see us. It makes it so much fun!

I absolutely love your outfits and trip report. What special memories you will have to cherish for the rest of your lives.

Aww, thanks SO much!

What a great family pic! The Welcome Show is so magical, glad you all got to see it!!

AWWWW that pic of Bronwyn seeing the castle, SO great!

Great pics with Tiana, I love the outfit change!

Woah at that rainbow grilled cheese!

LOVED the Welcome Show! It was such a great way to start the day. And when Bronwyn spotted the castle, seeing the magic in her eyes gave me such a great feeling. That is why I love Disney so much.

Yeah that rainbow bread was cool, wasn't it? :cool2:

I am loving your review! I just booked a BLT 1-bedroom villa for our first WDW trip next February. I can't wait to see your pictures and hear about your stay there. We will definitely eat at The Wave!

You are going to absolutely LOVE BLT!! Oh just wait... the lobby smell, the speedy elevators (I swear they are the fastest elevators that I've ever been on) the monorail, the views. And the 1-bedroom villa is SO nice! It's amazing!!

We have a 2-bedroom villa booked in February! What dates will you be there? :flower1:

Somehow I am not getting the email notifications, but glad I found you have updated your TR!

My email notifications don't seem to be working with this new system either!

The weather was actually cooler than I expected. I always think "hot" when I think of Florida. But most mornings and evenings we needed a light cover-up. Most of the time we took those off for pictures though. During the day it got nice and warm. So definitely layers in November if you're going to be going at the time of year. :sunny:

Oh we did have such a great morning in MK. The Welcome Show was the perfect way to start the day. And seeing Bronwyn's face when she saw the castle, that made me tear up. Just so magical! pixiedust:

Aww, thank you thank you! And believe me, you won't be disappointed, there are a bunch more outfits to see. :D

So many great updates!! Isn't it just an incredible experience to see the MK gates soooo empty and then get to enjoy the amazing opening show? My favorite part of any MK day, for sure.

I had wondered that too...but it looks like it hasn't changed. We found that the second person riding never needed a FP+ when using a Rider swap. :thumbsup2

Have a great time!! Sounds like it will be a super fun trip!! :)

We had the BEST time!!! I hope that you had a great trip as well! I can't believe it's come and gone already! :earsboy: Here's to planning the next trip, right?

Yay for an adult only getaway!!! We arrive on May 2! I am sad that this is the last Everest Challenge, we wanted to try it one year. :sad1:

I LOVE your running outfits!!

It was SO different being there without the kids. We definitely need to do it more often, hehe. :teeth: I hope you had a fabulous trip as well!

Hi everyone, Joe and I are back from our kid-free Disney getaway…. can I just say “AMAZING!!” no words can describe how incredible it was!! It was so exhilarating to have so much freedom. Yet it was so weird at the same time, I would literally come off of a ride and feel like I needed to go in search of our stroller. Haha And our RunDisney race was SO MUCH FUN!!! I am hooked! I can’t wait for my next one. Oh and yes, the post-Disney blues have set in strong. I’m back to the point where our next trip feels so far away…although it’s really not THAT far away. So now it’s time to get this TR rolling again…. and hopefully that will help perk me back up.

When I last left off, we had had a yummy lunch at The Wave and had checked into BLT. Then we headed back to MK for some more fun…. and maybe a swashbuckling adventure or two! Argh!

We stopped for some PP pics on Main Street before heading to Adventureland.

Where were we heading?

To The Pirates League.

The kids (except for Bronwyn) all had appointments for a pirate make-over and they were SO excited! Jorie and Isla actually chose this over doing the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique again. My wallet was thankful for that!

Once the kids were called inside, they were each given a turn to spin the wheel, which chose their official Pirate name.

Jorie’s pirate name was Liz Cannonshot. Isla was now known as Maria Coalflint. And Donovan became Bartholomew Stormwater.

The Cast Members were great and played so well off of each of the kids’ personalities.

The kids all started their make-overs right around the same time but they were seated at three different areas of the room, making it impossible to watch them all at the same time. It would have been nice to have them all in a row. But I did my best to float back and forth between the three. Joe kept Brownyn entertained since she was not a happy camper when she realized that she wasn’t getting to do it too.

Taking the pirate oath

It was later than we had really planned on being in the park, so we made our way to the front gates.

There was a Christmas party that night in MK, which we wouldn’t be attending…. we had something else planned for the evening. Plus we had to go check out our BLT villa!

I had received a text back at 4:18 that our room was ready.

#7811 8th Floor.... so that's where we headed.

Eeeek! I couldn’t wait to see our 1-bedroom Lake-view villa.

The view from our balcony. Nice!

I meant to take some better pics using my fish-eye lens after our bags were brought up, (my lens was in our luggage) but that never happened. Whoops.

Here are some stock photos to give you a better idea of the room size. There's a laundry room and an extra full bathroom that you don't see in the photos too. So awesome!

Modern/Contemporary is definitely not my normal style of decorating but I really LOVED the room. Especially coming from our AKV room being so dark, it felt so bright and clean. The only odd thing was that the two living room lamps were in the middle of the living room floor. Hmm, weird! Upon inspection, the cord on one of the lamps was completely cut in half and the other lamp didn’t work. We called about it right away and was told that someone would be up to replace the lamps. While we waited for that to be taken care of, Joe ran over to the Contemporary’s Contempo Café to pick us up some flatbreads for dinner… which were really tasty.

Once our bags arrived to our room, we quickly changed (again! haha) and headed down to our final destination of the day. Luckily we didn’t have to go too far…. just down to the Convention Center of the Contemporary.
