Perspectives of Grand Floridian's Boca Chica

We are staying at the GF in June with a Lagoon View category room and from the layout of the GF I think I would like to request to stay in the Boca Chica building. Based on the room types summarized on the first page of this thread Boca Chica offers both Lagoon View and Theme Park View room categories (along with courtyard view). When I look at the GF resort map it looks like all of the Boca Chica water facing rooms would be Theme Park view (from the angle of the layout it looks like each of those rooms could see the castle). My question is do the Lagoon View category rooms also have a view the castle (even though not classified as Theme Park View) or am I not looking at the Boca Chica water facing rooms correctly? I am trying to understand what the view of a Lagoon View category room in Boca Chica is really like. Thanks!! :)

We were in Boca Chica last Sept and were upgraded to a lagoon view. We could see the Contemporary and the lagoon but not MK - the dormer was in the way (top floor). Very nice in the morning watching the sunrise over the water. Your may also get a tree obstructing your view as there are a few lining the water.

We stayed GV in Boca Chica and absolutely loved the building location. We would have no hesitation requesting this building again for any view category. Here are some pics I took (in 2008) from the Lagoon side.

Great pics - thanks for posting!

We had a pool view in Boca and lagoon view in Big Pine. Loved both buildings

We just stayed in Boca Chica, Lagoon View, 4th floor in February. I had looked at the room views on Touring Plans prior to our trip and, based on their info, had requested 4th floor, room 8415 and we got it! There was a tree just blocking the castle, otherwise we had a fantastic view of the fireworks and electric water pageant. Great view for a lagoon view!! Highly recommend requesting 4th floor in Boca Chica.

Perfect! Thanks for the information. I just checked out Touring Plans and got some great information as well. I did not realize they showed views by rooms.

You'll love Boca Chica. I think the ground floor and top floor is the best. Mid floors there's always a chance a tree could block your view.

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad room at the GF. That place is the bomb diggity.

We stayed in Boca Chica last year and had a beyond fantastic view. Clear view of the castle with the monorail. We were up high, with one skinny little palm tree off to the side.
