Found out the height restriction is only to go on the small slide, there is a bigger slide too. Play area is otherwise open to any child! Here right now!
Thank you so much. I was going over the previous replies with my sister on Friday so she could prepare her girls. She was so disappointed. She and my niece will be so excited to hear there is a slide available for the taller kids!

I remember playing a Tron game there in the mid-80's. Very addictive game.
As another poster mentioned, they no longer have an arcade.

I would suggest riding the monorail to CR. They have a very good arcade there. Get off the monorail and take the escalator downstairs. Start walking toward the shops, arcade is on the left (before the shops).

Thanks dizfan! We will check out the the arcade at the CR! As you said, it's a short monorail ride away.

Just got back from our stay. Sadly, we didn't have a very good experience as far as customer service and deluxe quality are concerned. :( We prob won't be back. *sniff* Just doesn't feel like the Poly we stayed at almost two years ago. CM's appear stressed and unhappy. I guess a bit war weary from the remodel. Disney should be doing a better job of lifting these CM's up. Our room was late being ready and was dirty. I could write a book. But whateves. We went over to the Grand Floridian at the end of our trip and had a wonderful stay. They greatly pixie dusted us to make up for our rough start. But even without that the CMs are really amazing there and I can't express my gratitude enough for all the hard work they all do and what a great time we had there.

But, as far as Poly construction. They do a very good job of hiding it. I only heard noise one time. The resort and the changes are lovely. Love the smaller fountain and the Tiki in the lobby. So so cute. Love the pool area. Really great changes. The Bungalows, eh, they are like elephants on the beach. Trader Sams traffic was in our way as we went back and forth to our room in Aotearoa. But it was only slightly annoying. All and all though, I think they vastly improved the aesthetics.

Does anyone know how long it took to do the pathways outside of Samoa facing the East pool? We are staying GV CL in June and I'm wondering if the same work is being done there and if it will maybe look a little better when we are there. I know there will be ongoing construction however the landscaping being all torn up right outside your door is a real eye sore.

So sorry to hear that your trip to the Poly was not very magical. Grumpy CM's and dirty rooms are not what you expect at a deluxe resort! I wondered if the Trader Sam's traffic could be annoying, and your post confirms my suspicions. Your experience must have been terrible for you to have to move to the Grand Floridian. :worried:
So happy that your trip turned out to be wonderful after a rocky start.
Glad to hear the grounds look good and the construction is not a nuisance.
Thanks for your honest report!

Did you have to pay to switch to GF? I was hoping we could move there is poly was not what we expected or if we had issues.

Normally, yes, you would. But because of our issues we were pixie dusted.
Honestly, I don't think they'll let it stand that way. I'm sure they'll get on it right away. My husband bumped into another less than thrilled guest. A complaint or two is all it should take to get some blood back in the veins over there. I hope.

There are some not-so-good DVC studio reviews on Tikiman's FB page - sound like they're working the kinks out & that's to be expected - BUT - there are several reports that the rooms are too warm, and that the thermostat can not be set below 68, which isn't even cooling the room below 75 on warm days. Can anyone here that stayed in a studio comment on this? I have a studio booked for the 1st week of July & need it to be downright chilly in my room. It will be a deal breaker for me if the room won't cool below 75.

My in laws just returned and said they couldn't set their thermostat below 68 either. My Father In Law was not happy and will never stay at Poly again.

That's exactly what my husband suggested tonight...that if it doesn't turn out well maybe theyd put us in the GF. I think he was spoiled last year at the GF! You see, he is not one who you'd think would visit a place that seems... Hmmm.... ....pretentious??? But it was not!!! We had a lovely time and hope the Poly will be as much so.

I'm going to be optimistic about our August stay! Dirty room can happen at any resort. Shouldn't, but does. Last year at another resort we checked into a dirty room. Mouse keeper mistake, and didn't understand room was being turned over, so just did the clean for returning guest. I was given another room. Duty manager was awesome.

You're right, I'm going to try and be positive. I'm sure I'll have a great time. :-)

I must be the only one looking for a better experience than the GF. We stayed there last year and had a terrible experience. Rude CM's, dirty rooms, very late room cleanings (5pm one day). We wished we had stayed at the WL again. Just not a good time. I'll take the construction!

We've chosen the Poly for our upcoming family trip Sept. 2016. Now I just have to figure out how to go about booking it and when I'll be allowed to! This will only be our 2nd family trip across the country ever, and I'm so eager to get it underway! :)

Depending on your dates they may have another magical deal next year.

@mi*vida*loca (cute name :D ) I'm so sorry to be daft but is "Magical Deal" the name of a deal that you can get online or through a travel agent? I will have to book a room as early as possible as I need an accessible room for my chair and they have 26 I believe. Have a lovely day! :D

Packages are normally released in July for the following calendar year. But room-only reservations can be made 499 days in advance, so depending on what day in September you are looking to arrive, you may be able to book now! (September 1, 2016 is only 492 days away!) :flower1:
