Disney Gift Card Deals

I just got an email from cardpool.com. They have temporarily increased the target gift card discount to 5% off.

Hi, I'm a total newbie at Target redcard and Disney gift card. I plan to get a Redcard just to purchase Disney gift cards. On Target.com, it said that there are 2 types, credit and debit. What are the pros and cons of each? Which type do you prefer? Thanks in advanced
They are the same as far as getting the 5% off and free shipping with no minimum purchase. The credit card is, well, a credit card. If you don't pay it off by the due date, you'll be charged interest. They run a credit check and give you a credit limit. If you don't have a credit history, you can be turned down. (I was denied years ago because I didn't have any credit cards at the time and thought a store card would be easier to get for building credit - but I got turned down for not having any other credit cards yet.)

The debit card is linked to an existing bank account, so unlike the credit card, it just pulls money right from the bank account. This means no worries about remembering to pay the bill or about interest fees.

I went with the credit card because I don't like to carry around cards that link directly to my bank account. I never use my regular debit card, and I didn't want to add a second Target debit card. But I never carry a balance on my credit cards. They are always paid off right away, so I don't ever pay any interest fees.

Disney cards are off of the target site again.
Just got my extra money to pay off my trip and target cards are out of stock!!!:(
Hopefully they will be back in stock soon. Also did I read some where that you can convert ecards that I've purchased on raise to use in the store? if so can I use my red card to pay for part of the purchase and still get the additional 5% off the entire purchase? TIA:thanks:

You can combine the ecards with a physical card, on the mobile site. m.target.com.

When you pay in store, the 5% off is only for the portion charged to the redcard.

Thanks for the response! Well I'll just keep my fingers crossed that they will restock online but if not then I'm still happy with any discount!

FYI, Target.com seems to be having technical difficulties viewing all gift cards unless you search for specific ones in the search bar (at least for me). Disney GC's are still out of stock online though. I hope they are not changing the rules again.

Please note before you can use your Target eGiftCard at a Target store, you'll need to convert it to a Target Mobile GiftCard.
  1. Open m.target.com/giftcards/sign-in on your web-enabled mobile device, and select My Target GiftCards.
  2. Create a Mobile GiftCard account, or sign in to your existing account. Note: a Mobile GiftCard account is separate from any Target.com account you have with us, and is required to save gift cards to your phone. To create a Mobile GiftCard account:
  • Click create account.
  • Enter and confirm your mobile phone number.
  • Enter and confirm your email address.
  • Create a PIN (4–8 characters) and confirm your PIN.
  • Click create account.
  1. Click save GiftCard.
  2. Enter a Target GiftCard name, 15-digit GiftCard number, and an 8-digit access number.
  3. Click save.
Once your Target eGiftCard is saved to your account, you can use it just like any Mobile GiftCard. At checkout, the team member will scan your mobile device to apply the GiftCard balance toward your purchase.

Note: Once the Target GiftCard/eGiftCard is transferred to your mobile phone, be sure to keep the Target eGiftCard email and/or physical Target GiftCard in a secure location for your reference.

To combine gift cards (from Target website):
  1. Pick one card.
  2. Scroll down the screen on your phone.
  3. Click Combine.
  4. Pick another card.
  5. Click Combine.
  6. Follow the prompts until complete. The second card selected will transfer its funds to the first card, and will be force-closed as a result. Only the first card will hold a balance or be able to be reloaded.
Note: Currently unavailable on Apple App due to updates.

I noticed on my Target App Disney GCs are sold out. On Targets full website there is a message that Disney CG's are available in store only. I know they run out from time to time, I hope this is just one of those times.:worried:

You can not use CVS gift cards to buy other gift cards. You can not use Lowes gift cards to buy other gift cards.

Yup, that's what it will say when they are out of stock. It's completely normal.

For those who have Shoprite Grocery Stores, the Bonus coupon in the mailed Flyer is 10.00 off 100.00purchase, I have used this in the past to get a Disney GC

Just found this site and many thanx for all the great ideas. Hope my Target store will start carrying $100's. We have been using RedCard to buy Disney GC's but didn't know about raise or cardpool.
Can anyone tell me which is better? Safer?

Target.com is still having issues with giving the 5% RedCard discount. I bought 4 $100 Southwest GC's, when I didn't get the discount I called right away. Politely explained the problem. Costumer service was great and for my troubles they gave me a bigger discount!! Only charged me $352 and change!! Not sure if this will work for everyone but sure doesn't hurt to try.

I'm thinking it's just a glitch this morning but is anyone not seeing the Disney gift card at Target.com at all now? When I search it says "no results found" which I haven't seen before. Perhaps they are adding the new $100 ones and tweaking things.

Heather

Update: they are now showing what they have lately when they are OOS - "in stores only" so I guess the website was just glitchy this morning so disregard above lol.

I have used both and have not had issues with either. Some will say they've had problems with both sites, but that's just like any other company. No one gets 100% great reviews. I normally just choose which site has the deeper discount when I'm ready to buy.

Just keep in mind when ordering to make sure at least 1 penny of your online order is paid for by your Red Card and it is listed as your "default payment" or you will not be able to stack the discounts. For instance, I normally buy $150 at a time so I just purchased a $142.47 card from Raise (remember that the total you're spending on Target.com is 5% less so in this example I only need $142.50 NOT $150). I pay $142.47 with the gift card, and then $0.03 with my Red Card to get the stacked discount.
