BCV Refurb - Change in studio occupancy?

It all just depends on the size of the nightstands. Since they are doing all these refurbs they could reduce the width from the existing and fit one on each side but a small shelf is also a good idea. And I still think there were options for adding an additional sleep option into the existing 1BR's, they just didn't work very hard at it and went for cramming into studios and removing storage there.

They could put the sleeper chair in the bedroom. People frequently post asking if they could move it from the living room to the bedroom. No rule that you have to use it, it could be an option for some families/groups. We used a twin blowup in the bedroom once.

GREAT NEWS that it seems both BCV and BWV will be renovated!:thumbsup2:cheer2: HOPING that it will be complete by mid October!:Pinkbounc

Call me cynical but I don't think they are adding additional beds in response to requests from existing members. I think they are doing it to expand the pool of potential buyers to include those who cannot afford, or choose not to buy, enough points for anything other than a studio. The price per point has skyrocketed and I suspect they want to be able to show prospective buyers that even with a family of five (or four but the two kids are different gender), there are lots of places to stay for very few points per night. As we know, even with current members who paid much less for their points, the 1BRs are often the last rooms to sell out

As for adding a sleeper chair to the master bedroom, in resorts such as BWV I think the bed would have to open parallel to the sliding doors making it difficult for someone sleeping on that side of the king bed to get out of bed while the sleeper chair was open. It would also block the sliding door, posing a hazard if the only safe way out of the room during an emergency was via the balcony. For similar reasons, I don't think they can remove the dresser, storage bench and chair to put in a dropdown bed. When opened, I think it would make it difficult for both the occupant of that bed and the person on the slider side of the master bed to get out of the room quickly.

What they probably could do, space-wise but maybe not legally, is get rid of the king bed and put two sets of bunk beds in the "master" bedroom and change the sales pitch to say that Mom and Dad sleep on the queen sized sleeper sofa in the living area while the four kids have their own room, complete with bunk beds! That increases the occupancy to six.

We have a few nights at BC over Thankgiving week. Hope to get a renovated room.

When studios at OKW getting a sleeper chair?

There have been no reports of increased occupancy in OKW studios. They are a totally different configuration, I don't think a pull down bed would work. It seems that they are expanding the studio occupancy in resorts that do not have the sleeper chair in the 1 bedroom. OKW has the sleeper chair in the 1 bedroom.

Well, they could take out the table and chairs and replace with a sleeper chair. Then change the TV stand to one with a little teeny tiny drop down table that you could bring in the patio chairs to sit at. :rolleyes1

Yes, I'm JK.

I really need a studio to sleep 5 by December 18 :(

I agree with you on the DVC reasons, I also think that Disney wants the revenue from the additional guest.
