Heading down to US and staying at PBH at the end of July (Thursday to Thursday). Planning on going to IOA, U.S., Seaworld and Discovery Cove.

Which day of the week would be the best (slowest) to visit each park?

each park is open everyday in July from 8 am to 10 pm

don't know which day would be the slowest.

hotel guest are allowed in an hour earlier than the official park time.

saturday can be quite crowded....

So, I should avoid universal on Saturday. Maybe go to sea world or discovery cove that day? I was hoping to save DC for mid week. Would SeaWorld be a good choice for Saturday?

i don't do sea world so i can't answer if they will be busy or not.
but, staying on site at pbh there is a free shuttle that will run from the deluxe hotels so SW round trip each day.
going to SW is great but many have posted they take a taxi back to the hotel when done with SW.
shuttles are very busy and crowded when SW closes.

saturdays can be crowed due to the weekend.
quite a few people start their vacations on a saturday and head to the parks.
locals come if the weather is not horrid.

July is prime vacation period so that also pushes up crowds for saturdays.

i hope others that usually go to the darkside in July can post here to help you more with your question.

whatever happens, i know you will have fun on your trip!

I think my main issue is that I'm terrified of traveling to Orlando during peak, summer vacation season.
As you can all see from my sig, I'm more of an off-peak kinda girl. I want to learn as much as I can now, so we can have a smooth trip once we get there. But macraven is right - we'll have fun no matter what.

you do have some things in your favor for your july trip.
you are staying on site and should use the early entry for hotel guests each morning at 7:00 am.
yes, the park will have some crowds in it but nothing like how it will be later in the day.

get to the entrance line at 6:45 each morning.
we don't know yet which park or if both parks will have the early hotel guest entry.
you can get a lot of potter done in that first hour.

use the HE to travel to the other park when the official opening time happens.
many will be rushing for the studios side to start their day at 9:00 am.

stay in the parks and use the express lines only.
you will have made the photo express passes at pbh when you checked in.

eat lunch at an off time.
11:30 to 1:00 pm will be crowded at many of the park eateries.

or hop to city walk for lunch and then back to pbh for relaxation.
sit around the pool, sit in the shade, take a nap in your ac room.
sit in the hotel lobby, which by the way is lovely.

rest up and return to the parks around 5:30/6:30.
some of the day trippers will be worn out from the heat and crowds and leave around dinner hour.

hit the rides and shows and street entertainment until the park closes at 10 pm.

if you have a week stay, sleep in one morning, do a late breakfast or brunc at the hotel restaurant of your chosing.
shop in city walk, see a movie, play a round of mini golf is not too hot, etc

go to the parks late afternoon and do the fun things there until park closing.
kind of mix up your days if you can.

i tried to look at some of the trip reports of last year to see if anyone did SW on the saturdays during their vacation.
i still do not have any idea of how crowded they have been in the past years.
but, like i said before, maybe another poster will be able to guide you with their experiences of SW on saturdays

I found a site recommended on here called "The Dibb." It was pretty interesting. Very "Tour Guide Mike" like in terms of recommending certain parks on certain days. I wish there was an Easy WDW for the rest of the Orlando parks.

Seems to me that if you're staying on site and have express pass, you should do the Universal parks on the busiest days (which could very well be the weekends) and the parks where you do not have front of the line access on the slower days.

Discovery Cove and to an extent Sea World will be more relaxing days than the Universal days. So, I'd consider going to Discovery Cove in the middle of your trip. Also, with your Discovery cove ticket you can also goto Aquatica. You may want to think about a 1/2 day there.

I booked DC for Monday because we will be there Thursday - Thursday and I had the same thought at johde - go to DC in the middle of the week.
