~~ They're leaving the nest, sew it's time for a trip - or two - or three...~~ D~'s bag ~9/22 ~~

He is not teasing the cat.....he is just saying hello :) Oh I can't wait to see pics of MM and Cooper together!!!

they are really cute puppies.. I want a puppy..

I know - they are so adorable!!! I iam getting super nervous now though...

Ok so it has taken me forever to get back to the boards here. Then I had to find your NEW PTR. And I've been scrolling through it quickly, mostly looking at the puppy photos. Cooper is ADORABLE! Can't wait to see him together with his new family...I guess that will be in about 10 days or so? Congrats!

Hopefully I haven't missed too many trip updates. Sounds like your November trip is most likely still on and then you don't have decisions for the trips with the girls yet. I would definitely do a SOG stay but I know you are leaving the planning to them. Can't wait to hear about it.

We are almost to our 60 day countdown here until our next trip, spending our first July 4th with Mickey. I can't believe next week we will be making FP+ reservations. That will be tough since this next trip really is just gonna be heavily focused on pools and waterparks. I don't know if we should attempt ADRs in just the late afternoon/evening hours or maybe late mornings. It's the first time where I truly don't have any real designated park days so maybe I should look into it.

Looking forward to hanging around her a little more again...I hope!

Well hello there!!! It's great to see you back on the Dis!!!

Yes, Cooper will be coming home a week from tomorrow... GULP!!! Super nervous now!!!

All of my big trip updates are up to date on the first page... So, no you haven't missed too much. ::yes:: Still trying to figure out what we are doing for Alli's trip... Whether we are staying on Disney property or at SoG? We are not sure yet.

Super excited for your 4th of July trip to Disney - that's cool! YOu'll have lots of fun! We have so much fun at the water parks in the summer. ::yes::

Looking forward to having you here again!

Your arms look terrific! Careful with the guns, as my hubby would say.

Glad your having productive work days. Yesterday was my first full day working in my scrap room, as i have not been able to work....for almost 3 months with my severe anemia. Feeling better and put in 10 hours yesterday! I always have to remember to get up and stretch though or I'll get horrible leg cramps from sitting. But I have so much work to do and orders to fill.... yikes! Can't complain as working at home doing what we love and making $$ is the biggest blessing, don't cha think?
Have a terrific day!

Hahaha... Thanks! Not really sure they are considered "guns" yet... Maybe bb guns? LOL

Yes, I've been having good days - not as productive as I was a few weeks ago, but I am still getting a lot done. I am glad you are geting a lot done too... Yes, we are so lucky to be able to stay home and be here for our families. :lovestruc

Hi D~! Working my way around the DIS today getting caught up. So glad you got the needle problem figured out! I can imagine how frustrating that was.

Oh and happy belated birthday to Allison!

Hi Ariana! Welcome back!

Yes, me too... it was so frustrating - but very glad I really have it figured out this time. LOL

Thanks - I will pass that along to her. :lovestruc

Your arms look great.
I hope you have a great day in your sewing room.
The puppies are so cute

Here the sun is shining today. And it's still 50,72ºF outside at 7pm

Thanks Lillian!

I did have a pretty good day... I finished that bag - so I was happy about that.

I know - but yikes! I am getting so nervous all of a sudden about having a puppy here... :scratchin

Yay for better weather! I hope you have a great day! :hug;

your arms are looking awesome. I hate that it takes so long to tone ar\ms. \Cooper is too cute. Sami is helping me type.

Thanks! Yes... It does take so long... Everything takes forever. LOL But I would rather it take a long time and have it be a true change, than to do it quickly and lose it all in a matter of months. ::yes::

Hi Sami!

He is not teasing the cat.....he is just saying hello Oh I can't wait to see pics of MM and Cooper together!!!

I am super excited too. I am suddenly very nervous about this though... A puppy!!!

***********************************************************************

So, I had a nice update for you all - and the Dis ate it. At least it didn't eat my replies. :scratchin

Sadly I don't feel like writing them all again... So, I am just going to leave you all with fresh Cooper pictures to start you weekend off with some cuteness. :lovestruc

Hi D!! Your arms are looking great! Keep up the great work!

We are dog sitting my parents dog for the week and last night Sken turned to me and said "I think we should have two dogs!" I was like "YES!" but then he said it was that or get engaged so I said the puppy can wait. However your little Cooper is the cutest little thing I have ever seen (aside from Tessie puppy pictures LOL). So happy for your new little furry addition to your family!

Awww, Cooper is so adorable! I don't envy you the potty training though. Poor Eddie is struggling right now because he is on two different antibiotics which makes him drink and pee more. I was up four times with him last night!

Hi D~! Oooh, that Cooper is a real cutie! I would be a bit nervous about a new puppy too, but it's good timing since the weather is getting better and you can spend time with him outdoors and let him burn off some of that puppy energy. Won't be long now…

We had a wonderful Disney trip and Miles just loved it! He was so much fun. This is our third trip with a grandchild and each trip we feel like we do a better job. Of course the only rule is that there are no rules and they can have and do anything they want, so what's not to like? We went to Tom Sawyer's Island for the first time ever and had a blast there! It really is pretty cool.

You birthday girls are going to have such a great time together! What fun! So glad you were able to score a good price on your tickets. That is getting to be quite rare these days! I've never been to Maine, but my girls have and they just loved it.

Dan and I have been talking about where to go when he does his early retirement and I thought North Carolina, but he said, why not South Carolina so we'll be closer to Disney. What? Sounds good to me! I just don't want to be too far from the grandkids.

I think the idea of a blanket for Gus is a good one, but as a Christmas gift gets my vote. An iTunes gift card or Starbucks or other fast food Gift card would probably be quite welcome for him as a grad/going away gift. I've done up sewing kits/first aid kits for grads before as well as for all my kids when they went away to college. You never know when they'll need a safety pin or to sew a button back on. He will really leave a hole in your family when he goes. I hope he and Allison are able to make it work.

I wanted to let you know that our condo sold (the one we rehabbed) while we were in Disney! We signed the papers electronically. It sold in just 6 days! That is such a great feeling. There were actually two offers, so we were in a great situation. I told Dan I didn't want to buy another property until he retires in a year and a half, but I know we probably will if the right one comes along.

The nice thing about making a bonehead mistake in the sewing room is that you usually will never do that particular thing again. I'm on a sewing forum where people post needles going into their fingers and cuts they've gotten while using their cutters that make me want to puke. I've never done those things and since seeing the pics, am extremely careful. I mean, exactly how DO you get a machine needle all the way through your finger??? Yikes! I loved your latest bag…great job!

Have a wonderful weekend and lots of fun and sun!

I just can't handle all the puppies. So sweet. :lovestruc I think this PTR is officially dangerous for me, I think it's triggering puppy fever. We are trying to wait until Jonah is old enough to enjoy having a puppy.

Your arms look fantastic!

I hadn't been on Dis since April 1st, so lots of catching up. Your arms are looking good. Funny now about the needles, but that can be so frustrating while you are in the middle of it.

Have a great weekend.

Hehehe... Yes - I'd take the engagement over a puppy too... but it would be hard - They are much the same thing. LOL Big babies. Hehehehe. :lovestruc So, does this mean congratulations are in order????

Thanks

How big Cooper is now. He is still cute

I hope you have a great weekend

Welll, Becky had him to the vet yesterday... He was 15lbs!!! His brother was 14.3, and his sisters were 12 & 13 lbs respectively. So, he's the big guy of the bunch. :lovestruc But yes, he is getting big! One more week!

Thank you - you too!

Awww, Cooper is so adorable! I don't envy you the potty training though. Poor Eddie is struggling right now because he is on two different antibiotics which makes him drink and pee more. I was up four times with him last night!

Yes - I am nervous about potty training too... MM was pretty smooth once I buckled down and concentrated on it - it took me a little while to figure out I needed to do that though. LOL

Awww... Poor Eddie... I sure hope he is doing better soon.

I know - I am soooo nervous about having a puppy... We are in such a nice routine - I keep smacking my forehead and asking myself what I was thinking? LOL Praying we have an easy transition.

I am so excited that you had such a great trip with Miles! I hope that I am able to do that too when we have grands - you've given me something to live up to. LOL So, when is your next trip - and when is your next trip with a grand baby?

I am super excited to go to Maine! It's going to be much needed! I cannot wait!

SC sounds like a good place to settle - still driving distance to Disney and warm... If I could - I would, for sure!

Yes, I think I've settled on doing it for Christmas... I just have too much going on right now - and I think I'd work myself into a frenzy if I tried to do it now. ::yes:: I am glad you all talked some sense into me. LOL Thanks!

Eeeep!!! So glad your condo sold!!! How awesome to be in Disney and get that news! Congrats!

Yes - Hopefully I will never make that mistake again. LOL

It's so nice to have you home again Lois! I am so glad you had a great trip with Miles!

I just can't handle all the puppies. So sweet. I think this PTR is officially dangerous for me, I think it's triggering puppy fever. We are trying to wait until Jonah is old enough to enjoy having a puppy.

Hahaha... I know - he is just too darn cute... but I remember (all too well) how naughty MM was... So I am a bit nervous!

Thanks! I've been working hard on them lately! :thumbsup2

Have a great weekend.

Hi Shannon!!! It's great to have you back!

I know- I was so frustrated, just glad I have it figured out now. :thumbsup2

Thank you - the same to you!!! I hope dd feels better soon too.

Cooper is getting so big and cute.

I know - I cannot wait to pick him up and squish him! :lovestruc

**********************************************************************************

Ok - not too big of an update here from yesterday...

I worked in my sewing room all morning... Working on my last side bag... I love it! It makes me want to do another - and I might if I have the time.

Then I packed up and went to town to run some errands before I had to pick the girls up from school... I purchsed a few things for the puppy... Some toys & his food bin... I plan to go to the vet either today or Monday to get his food. We still need to buy him a bed and a gate. We also need to get MM's puppy crate up from the basement and set it up. I am pretty sure MM will go crazy once he sees that - but I'd like to get it up this weekend, so he has time to get used to it being there before we bring Mini-Cooper home. :lovestruc

I brought A to work and V came home with me.

V made a wonderful dinner - confetti spaghetti wth chicken... She pulled my portion out before she added the noodles to the rest - it was very good!

Disney update:

After dinner, I was sitting on my tablet... And on a whim - I decided to check the Shades of Green website to see if they had put up their specials for January yet, and they had!!!!!!!! :woohoo: So, it's official - I booked Allison's graduation trip last night! Because of the discount (as of now) we are doing 8 nights at Shades of Green... January 16-24, 2016. This discount saved me approx $250, and that's WITH adding 2 extra nights! WHOOT!

I am still a bit nervous to be staying at Shades... There are a few variables that make it easier and a few more that make it harder... But I am excited to be staying there again - and I am excited I was able to book for such a nice long trip and stay with in our budget. It will be difficult to do our FPs for only 30 days out - but we really aren't planning to do anything really difficult to get... No Anna & Elsa for us this trip... And ADRs will have to be done daily - which is annoying, but again, we aren't trying to get anything that's too hard to get. So, hopefully we will be fine? Then, of course - there's no transportation from the airport to our resort - so I will have to book transportation... Which is good and bad... I don't have to worry about ME getting us to the airport late on our return flight home. ::yes::

Despite all of that - we are VERY excited to be booked! And so happy to get a discount for that!

So... I have a new photo for you all - it's me - with my new glasses... I just LOVE them! They are so fun and so cute!

I also did a comparison photo last night... I happened upon my 11 grade school photo while I was looking through old photos - and I couldn't believe that I was looking the same direction and everything... So, I had to post it. It kind of creeps me out, because the only change I really see is that my face is thinner now and less red - which could just be the difference in lighting and the age of the first photo? But still... It's weird! ::yes:: Quite honestly - I think I look better now, and healthier now, than I did when I was 16!

Today... Well, I have to bring Allison to work this morning...

Then I plan to come home and work on puppy proofing... At some point - Josh and I need to go out and get a new gate. I was going to do that yesterday, then I forgot.

I do need to work in my sewing room for a little while to finish up that side project.

Then I hope to be lazy the rest of the day. ::yes::

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend! Prayers and Pixie Dust go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Sounds like a good idea to get the puppy stuff out now so MM can get used to it before the puppy arrives. It's going to be a lot of things that is new to MM when the puppy comes home.
How great that you booked Shades of Green and got a good discount as well :woohoo:
Thanks for sharing the photos of you from 1991 and 2015. You look great.

Today I'm going in my aunt's 50 birthday party. We will be 100 people. I'm NOT looking forward to it. Most of the people I don't know. Luckily I can leave the party when ever I like.

I think you look younger in the 2015 picture too! Your skin is better, your chin and neck are more defined. Beautiful in both :)

Yay for booking!!! One more step closer to our trip ;) Kidding....well kinda. But I'm glad you got such a great deal for Allison's trip.

I wonder if Sara will still be down there next January.....she could pick up and drop off at the airport for free. Just not sure where she will be. I know she is done this second round of the CP in August, but I think she was planning on staying down there. Going to school around that area. Time will tell.

Hi Dee - I am finally caught up on your PTR after having returned from our Disney trip and gone back to work. :upsidedow happy Belated birthday to Alison. It looks like it was a nice party. I'm glad you solved the mystery of the missed stitches. :)

Congratulations! That's a great time to go to Disney because of low room rates and low crowds. Discounts for the Disney resorts are usually released in early October and we've gotten some good discounts for January trips. SoG looks like a great place to stay, especially for the price. :)

Yes, I think so too... We were able to get a lot done yesterday, but not everything I wanted to. I know - it's going to be a big adjustment for MM, for sure! I sure hope he loves being a Big Brother though! :lovestruc

You're welcome-I thought it was a fun comparison.

I hope you have a good time at your Aunt's party, but I am glad you can leave when you want to - sometimes you just need to do that. ::yes::

I know - I am so excited that we are booked - with a great discount! It sure makes it more real!

Thanks Suzi... I was kind of thinking I look better now too... It's a little bit creepy to me. LOL But I will take what I can get. ::yes::

I know - it's true... Now that I have this booked, I can start paying it off in earnest. :thumbsup2

That would be awesome! BUt I would never ask that of her... We are totally fine renting a town car - it will be kind of magical and fun anyways. If I can afford it - I am hoping to rent us a limo... But that would be a surprise for Allison, and only if it's something I can afford. ::yes::

Hi Sue!!! Welcome back! How was your trip? Thanks for taking the time to catch up here. And thank you for the birthday wishes for Allison. :lovestruc

I am super excited to go in January... My only big concern about going during this time is the weather here - if we get a bad blizzard/snow storm - they do shut down the airport... Normally, not for long - but I will still be nervous about it. Hopefully we fly out and back in, in a timely manner. ::yes:: But I will try not to worry about that until the trip gets closer. It will be nice, just the same to have a nice break from winter for a while. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************************************************

I had a really nice day yesterday...

Although - Allison made a comment... I was showing her the stuff I'd purchased for Cooper on Friday, and she looked at Josh, rolled her eyes and said "Dad, she's nesting..." Hahaha... ::yes:: I think she may be right?

I took Allison to work yesterday, then I came home to get ready... Josh and I were going out to shop for the puppy. Victoria decided to go with us. We were on a mission... We needed a puppy bed (but I wanted it for cheap, because it will likely be ripped to shreds in a matter of time), a gate for between the livingroom and dining/kitchen area, and a few more toys. Thankfullly, we found a nice/cheap bed and a bunch of toys at the first store we went to - and all of them were cheap! :woohoo: We purchased the bed, plus 5 or 6 nice new toys for $23... I was impressed - and incredibly happy! :lovestruc

We ran a few other errands, including getting mine and V's glasses adjusted - they now don't sit crooked on my face. ::yes:: What a relief - because I love them a lot!

It was about 2pm, and we hadn't had lunch yet (and I'd forgotten to eat breakfast too...) - so I was starving and starting to get cranky... Josh wanted to go to Cracker Barrel... I've never eaten there before. I think there are only 2 of them here in MN? One in the south metro and one in the north metro... Well, I will happily eat there again... Our service was excellent, our food was excellent, it took us a while to be seated - but our food came very quickly. I think we were in and out in about 30 minutes! :lovestruc So, CB goes on my list of approved restaurants to eat at. At the moment - this is a very small list, so I was happy to add to it. LOL

We came home... Josh and I took a nap. Gus picked Allison up from work - they went out for lunch, then they came here and traded cars to take my car to the mall... Gus has been putting a lot of miles on his new car, so I've been trying to help out with that when I can, and let them take my car, as long as they put gas in it.

Josh and I made home made Chiptole for dinner last night... Josh found a Chipotle rice hack recipe online and he made it last week - it was very good, but he messed it up by turning it to mush... So, I made it yesterday and it turned out perfectly... So, I think I am on permanent rice duty from now on. ::yes:: But the whole meal was fabulous! Definitely going into menu rotation (not that I have a menu... Sigh).

After dinner, the kids came home and we watched UP! That was fun - it's been several years since I'd seen it, it's Allison's favorite movie and Gus had never seen it before. So, it was a good movie to watch last night.

So, that's about all for yesterday...

Today... Someone has to take Alli to work.

I will be working most of the morning... I want to finish this bag, for sure. I am still hoping to start another one.

Then I will be picking Allison up from work and taking her shopping for her birthday. I am looking forward to it - it should be a lot of fun! ::yes::

Another puppy picture for you all - All of the puppies with Momma... Cooper is getting so big!!! He is the one with the red collar on the far left. :lovestruc

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Congrats on booking your trip. I know if you stay at a Disney Resort you get free parking at the parks. Check if shades of green has something like that. It might be economical to rent a car and would eliminate the bus issue. Especially that is a low crowd time.

Cooper is getting so big.

We are going 8th grade prom dress shopping today this should be an experience because we will have Sami and Jimmy but I need her to try on dresses in case we decide to order online. Also she is so picky about dresses.

Have a fun day.

Congrats on booking your trip! I realized some of the post I've missed I've seen on FB:) So wasn't feeling totally out of the loop. The dogs photos just keep getting better and better, I think you chose the best one! Oh we love CB, tons of them here in Iowa. I heard about the whole Target release online and then silly me forgot to even check our store when I was there yesterday. Oh well I promised myself not to buy clothes until this post hysterectomy weight is gone...gone...gone. Still trying to get to WDW but at least our summer Vegas road trip and the final month of our school are keeping me preoccupied for the moment! Enjoy your Sunday and birthday shopping!

I always worry about weather delays with the winter trips, too, but so far we have been really lucky. The majority of trips in December, January and February have had no weather delays, and the ones that have were only a few hours of delay. We've had good luck with Southwest. There is a flight around 6am that originates out of Chicago-Midway that we usually take. Even if it is snowing, that flight takes off. The delays usually happen when the flight is coming from an area with bad weather. Our March 1st flight home was delayed taking off because of bad weather on the east coast. If you can get a flight out of MN that originates there then you would have a good chance of getting out even if it is snowing. :)

The picture of mom and the puppies is cute. Did she only have four puppies?

How great that you found the things for the puppy so cheap :woohoo:
YAY for finding a new restaurant to put on your approved list :woohoo:
I hope you and Alli have a great time birthday shopping.
How nice to see the puppies outside with their mother.

The party last night was ok. Me and my brother left as soon as the official program was over around 11.30pm. My parents made me drive their car so all 4 of us (my parents, my brother and I) could fit in one car. Their car is automatic transmission, it was nice to drive automatic and not manual transmission. I'm really looking forward to get a new car (when ever that will be) that's automatic transmission.

I am super excited! One of the reasons we are able to go to Disney is that I don't ever have to drive anywhere while we are there - I sort-of have a fear of driving in places I am not familliar with... So, it might be good for other people to rent a car, but for me - we just do Bus transportation. ::yes::

I know... He isn't so little anymore, and he isn't even home yet! Gulp! When Becky had him to the vet the other day - the vet said that he will be on the large side of a Golden/Lab dog... LOL

How fun!! I hope it went well.

Thanks - you too! :lovestruc

Yes, we are super excited to have it booked - and that it's a long one!

I hope so - I guess we will see how he fits in when we get him home. But we are so excited to add to our family!

Our Target store has nothing left... A few pieces here and there, but nothing exciting or that I'd like to own.

Awesome that you have a trip to keep you busy. Life is good. ::yes:: Thank you - we did!

The picture of mom and the puppies is cute. Did she only have four puppies?

This is good to know - because it's a genuine concern. We like to fly Sun Country - because most of those flights originate here, they fly out of our little airport and they have a flight that leaves here at 8am, which puts us in FL at Noon. ::yes:: So, hopefully the weather Gods cooperate next winter.

Yes, the momma only had a small litter of 4 puppies... Which is one of the reasons Becky's vet seems to think these puppies will be bitter. :scratchin We'll see soon enough. LOL

How great that you found the things for the puppy so cheap
YAY for finding a new restaurant to put on your approved list
I hope you and Alli have a great time birthday shopping.
How nice to see the puppies outside with their mother.

The party last night was ok. Me and my brother left as soon as the official program was over around 11.30pm. My parents made me drive their car so all 4 of us (my parents, my brother and I) could fit in one car. Their car is automatic transmission, it was nice to drive automatic and not manual transmission. I'm really looking forward to get a new car (when ever that will be) that's automatic transmission.

Yes, this did make me so happy! We cannot wait to get him home!

I know - I have such a limited list of places I can eat, believe it or not, most of them are Mexican, because fajitas are easy to build and there's not a lot of weird stuff in them. :)

We had a great time shopping - thank you.

Yes, it is nice to see them playing outside.

Glad you got to drive an automatic transmission car... most cars here are automatics... However, there are quite a few manual cars too... Gus drives a manual. I know how to drive one - I had a manual transmission car in high school, but it's been several years since I've really driven one... Gus let me drive his once last fall - and I was happy to know that I hadn't forgotten. Oh and Josh's Jeep is a manual too - but I've never driven that. ::yes::

I had a nice relaxing day yesterday...

Allison worked most of the day... So, I worked upstairs for a lot of the day too...

When she was done - we went birthday shopping... We had a lot of fun and found lots of fun stuff. She is a happy girl. At the end, we ended up at Ulta - and I purchased a few goodies for her there. And we had dinner at Chipotle... It was a great time and I love spending time with the girls individually!

Josh didn't get any of the stuff done, that I wanted him to, to get ready for Cooper's homecoming... I guess I am going to take it upon myself to do it today. Sigh. He did, however, get the new kennel set up in the back yard - so I am not complaining too much. ::yes::

Today... I will be working out - my neck/shoulder are still really stiff and kinked up... So, I am going to try to take it easy.

Then I will be in my sewing room all day... I have one more side project I want to try to sneak in, and today is the day for that. :thumbsup2

I did get one more picture of Cooper last night... I can't believe how big he is getting! I think he is going to be bigger than MM was when we got him... :scratchin

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday... Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

Congratulations on booking your trip! That's always a relief. Did you see that free dining was released today? I was sorely tempted to book something but with as much as we spent on my poor Eddie this last week or so, it's not really an option. Guess I will just have to keep looking forward to next year or the year after.

Glad you liked Cracker Barrel! It's one of my favorite restaurants. I love the chicken and dumplings. Of course we have them on pretty much every corner down here in Atlanta.
