Hi

I asked the moms panel a question about upgrading a NE 5 day ticket to a annual pass, they came back with I can do that no problem just turn it in at the park.

How reliable is this advice, if its wrong and I got proof I was told this do you thing Disney will help me out at the ticket booth?

Has the ticket been used at all? More than 14 days ago?

And no, I don't think bringing proof of what they said will help. The website clearly states they are independent contractors and do not represent the opinion of Disney.

If you have not used it yet, then I would use it once then upgrade within 14 days of first use, but before the last day is used up. The reason to use it first is that they should be able to bridge the price so that you get the current value of the tickets to apply.

If it has already been used once, and it is now more than 14 days since the first use, I do not think you will be able to upgrade.

1.How reliable is this advice,

2. if its wrong and I got proof I was told this do you thing Disney will help me out at the ticket booth?

1. That depends. Has the ticket been used? Where did you buy the ticket? If you bought it from Disney, was it part of a package.

2. Nope.

Package doesn't matter or whether it was purchased from disney. As long as it hasnt been used more than 14 days ago and has a day left, you can 'bridge' the pricing.

The bolded is incorrect.

It doesn't matter as far as whether or not it's upgradable, but it does matter when it comes to knowing how much it should cost to upgrade. Disney does not bridge tickets that were bought directly from them unless they are part of a package.

Except... that's exactly what just happened when I got my AP. So, in essence OP, your mileage may vary.

If yours was bought at a gate or online, but not with a package, then what you got was the benefit of an error. Never expect that to happen.

OP, I trust the mom's panel as far as I can throw them. But in this case they might be right; we just don't know enough specifics to tell you yes or no or how. And if they didn't ask the questions people have asked of you here, then they were in the wrong, even if the answer ends up being right.

Nobody here has posted an experience of trying to upgrade an NE ticket since they discontinued selling them a couple months ago. At least not that I've seen. This is uncharted territory at the moment.

I agree.

I also agree that we don't know what will happen with the non-expiring tickets. I've read no reports from visitors who had this relatively new situation. The best place to answer your specific questions is right here on the DisBoards. There are many devoted folks here who know WDW inside and out, and keep up on the changes. The Moms Panel lends itself to vague, easy questions and their answers can be equally hazy.

Was it was before June 2013? If not, the CM screwed up.
1. Full price tickets (Also called Gate Price)

These are sold only at WDW ticketing locations. They are sold at all Park ticket windows and Guest Relations Offices/Windows. This includes the Theme Parks, Water Parks, TTC, and DTD. They are sold online and by phone, but only as a ticket purchase and not as part of a package. If purchased at a Disney Resort Lobby Concierge, and not as part of a package, they are full price. Likewise they may be purchased at a Disney operated gift shop in one of the Downtown Disney Resorts or the Swolphin.

These tickets will not be price-bridged. If they are upgraded during the current pricing period they do not need bridging. However, if there is a general price increase after they are purchased their value will remain the original purchase price for upgrade purposes.

CM screwed up. But the original ticket was purchased in 2012. Maybe that was it? :confused3

I would not presume to know the minds of mice, men, or disney employees.

And (as SHOULD be the case, regardless) nobody with any inside Disney knowledge EDITS or CORRECTS
the sometimes very bad info presented by the "Moms."

Since Disney presents them, Disney should check their information.
Otherwise, what's the point?

I couldn't agree more. But, considering the fact that disney refuses to change the incorrect information liberally sprinkled throughout it's website, I don't think it will ever happen.

The ticket was purchased from undercover Tourist in 2014, its totally unused. I wish I could get a proper answer out of disney, their ticketing dept said I will be able to upgrade it with no issues, but I am not convinced. - How will they get a price to bridge it from if its no longer sold - unless I upgrade before using it, in which case I will loose out on the price.
