Canadian Dollar is looking better

I think we would agree that we want the dollar to continue to go up! I have some time to wait as my trip isn't until August!

Hubby is praying that it doesn't gain too much in the next little bit ... he's waiting (not too patiently i might add) for a cheque from an American company! Depending on the exchange we could be looking at close to $700.00 difference!! I keep telling him that if it keeps going up we can see Pluto that much sooner.

Just leave in US funds and then your set for your next trip

If only that wasn't his actual pay that's ear marked for such trivial things like mortgage & food

To say nothing of our daughter's wedding which is now less than 2 months away

Must admit i like your style though

Ahh why pay your mortgage when you can pay the Mouse's, plus he has great cheese and wine.:drinking1

Holding off paying for our August cruise. We have until May 15th to pay it off but we are watching the rates almost everyday. The difference in last week alone would save us $400!!

There have been many articles out that basically say things have stabilized. We may see improvements of a cent or two here and there but the prediction is that this is it.

I just bought $5,000 US yesterday and paid 125 it is better than the 127/130 it has been -- I don't think it'll improve hugely and I didn't want it risking falling again! It cost $1285 for $5,000 it hurt but better than paying 130 per $!

I read today that is was at or just above 82

which we are going in Nov so it has plenty of time to get back up there

And this is why I've booked my family's next cruise on Norweigan rather than Disney. The fantastic, but ridiculously overpriced, Disney cruise would have cost me another 30% on top of the posted fare, whereas Noreweigan allows Canadians to book directly (not through a TA or the website - you have to call) and their current exchange is only 11%, plus you pay in Cdn dollars.

We're being more judicious on our U.S. spending. Still doing WDW in the summer, but I will be cancelling the March Break cruise i booked on the Fantasy.

I got a great deal by booking on opening day, but even at that the cruise is $1,000 U.S. more than the same cruise on the Magic we took this year. (It's far more now.) The Fantasy is terrific, but it's not worth that much more. Once you toss in the exchange rate, and the airfare, it's a pricey sum.

As a result we're looking at a pretty nice land vacation somewhere -- maybe on one of those Caribbean islands -- for far less than the cruise would end up costing.
