BC Disers?? Tell us about your trip plans!

Heading down for free dining Aug 31st for 8 nights. My daughter is graduating this year and not going to college until January, so we can finally take advantage of free dining and low crowds! Staying at CBR preferred. Never stayed there (done pop, ASSp, POFQ, POR, AKL, BWV). So another resort to cross off the list! Just starting to look at flights. Im tempted to go with one I found right out of YVR for $500 Canadian - SEA is sitting at $350 cdn - so I figure the quick shuttle return (I never drive down because I am always too tired to drive home) is about 150 anyway!

Alaska airlines card is the way to go. Flying out of Victoria Oct 23rd and using miles, sweet deal. 45$ and 25000 miles for return ticket. I use the card for everything.

Staying at POP with free dining. Can't wait.

Bumping this thread :)

Taking a cruise on the Wonder from Canada Place to San Diego (by way of Victoria as well). We leave September 27. After we dock in San Diego on Oct 1st we are taking Amtrak up to Anaheim, staying at Castle Inn (not my first choice but DH got an excellent deal through his work) and going to DL/DCA for 3 days before flying home.

We are hoping to do a road trip from Kamloops to DL near the end of August, driving to see some sights and save a few bucks. Our other trios we have flown allegiant out of Bellingham as its so reasonable.
Bcwife, don't worry too much about the castle in,we stayed there pre-rents a couple of years ago and it wasn't too bad. I have actually looked at that cruise also :)

Flying out of Victoria to DLR the first week of October. Staying at PPH CL and celebrating my kids' birthdays while we're there! So excited!!

We're in the middle of planning a December WDW trip from Victoria. My dad and step mom snowbird in FL and they have been bugging us to go an visit them so after 8 DL trips we are finally heading East! I've rented DVC points and we are staying at AKV Dec 9-16 and then driving to their condo a couple of hours away for the rest of our trip.

I'm finding flights pricey, at least for the flight times I want and the amount of planning needed for WDW compared to DL is a tiny bit overwhelming. But, I've got 9 months to get everything done and I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations!

Heading to WDW in less than 2 weeks, staying offsite at Reunion Resort in a condo. Everyone is getting very excited!!

bumping thread to see what other BCers are planning

It turns out that in addition to WDW in December, I have somehow managed to talk DH into another DL trip this year! We're heading down in August, flying into BUR and doing one day at Universal then heading to Anaheim for 4 days at DL, flying back via SNA. I managed to find some really decent flights, although it is sad that flying YYJ-BUR and SNA-YYJ costs less than 50% of what it cost for me to fly to Ottawa and back in July! :worried:

As much as I would love to stay at the GCH like we did in Feb, there is no way I can justify $600+/:crazy2:night in August!

We got back in February from a 2 week trip to WDW staying off site in an awesome house 10 mins from mk. We got great flight out of Vancouver to mco via Dallas for 1300 for 4 of us .

As for the next trip I am doing the Star Wars half marathon in January so that is the next trip.

We have a cruise at the end of August then BLT in a 1br Lake View for just over a week.... after that we have nothing booked yet but I'm planning Aulani for 2016 ((I hope!))

We are in the middle of planning out next big family trip down to WDW. There are 9 of us going (4 adults 4 kids and 1 infant) and I am doing all the planning

We are going for 10 days in Nov. Nov. 9 –Nov 19. Everything is book except for flights because I am waiting to see is FD is coming during out stay if not we are just going to keep our plans the way they are. We always get the dinning package so I am hoping that we can get the FD to help save money since the dollar is not good these days. For us if we get the FD we will save around $2400 for everyone on my reservation.

We are more than likely flying out of Seattle like we always do. We just find it easier because we don’t have to transfer in Toronto (last time we did we missed out connecting flight, because we had to go through customs) and for this trip we are going to take advantage od Disney baggage service so when we get to Orlando we can just get right on the bus without collecting our bags, and with this amount of kids will be nice not to have to worry about.

We are planning to head to WDW in November (7-15), 2015 from Victoria BC. We are booked (& paid for) at Art of Animation Resort Little Mermaid room!
Just looking at getting our flights squared away then we are all set. DH wants to fly from Victoria to Orlando, and honestly I think it will be easier especially with the kid. If it was just the 2 of us I would most like go from Vancouver or Bellingham. I have 7 day base passes from Air Miles for park admission.

Confirmed for DISapalooza, but I'm not sure yet how long I'll be going down for, and where I'm staying. Torn between renting points for a studio @ AKL or staying @ Cabana Bay. I stayed @ CB last December and loved it. Any thoughts? Would like to hear from anyone who has rented DVC. This will be my first time.

I usually use Air Canada miles for my flights, so I'm really appreciating all this airline talk. Keep it coming.

I am just in the initial stage of researching but I hope to got to WDW sometime next Spring. We went to Aulani at the end of August, Disneyland the year before and on a Disney Cruise to Alaska in 2011 so it makes sense to go to WDW next. :) Unlike the others, planning WDW seems very overwhelming to me.

Those who live in Victoria or on the island, how do you get to WDW? We are flying but where do you fly from? Victoria, Vancouver, Bellingham, Seattle? DH wants to fly from Victoria but it seems to be most expensive option. But I suppose it's the convenience of not having the ferry to deal with.

We're in the planning stages for our first trip to WDW so I'm not sure yet which route we will take but we've done DL 7 times with an 8th trip in a few months.

We've flown from Victoria, taken the Clipper to Seattle and the BC Ferry to Vancouver and driven to Seattle. Each time I have looked at the cost and figured out the best cost vs time way to go. Taking the BC ferry costs around $100 each way for the three of us, so $200 plus gas to get to Seattle. The Clipper is a bit more, around $315 US$ return for the 3 of us. Then there are other extra costs to take into account when flying from somewhere other than Victoria. Because of the Clipper sailing times, we have to stay overnight both directions plus there is the cost of the taxi from the Clipper terminal to the hotel and then back. The taxi both ways adds at least $120 US$ and the hotel is around $100 a night each way. Driving via Tsawwassen means a hotel at least on the way down plus parking for the car. Last time we did that it was $180 US$ for the hotel and parking. I have looked at YVR but the flights from there are not much less than from YYJ especially when you add in the ferry so we have never gone via there.

Then there is one more thing, time. Driving to SEA or taking the Clipper takes time and for us, time is often more valuable than money.

So, all that is to say this, look at the all-in cost to fly from all your options.

I actually did an excel spreadsheet once. It was really helpful to see all the options and all the costs added together.

I am taking my daughter and her stepsister to DL July 26 - Aug 2. Staying at the HoJo, five days at DL and one day at Universal. This will be my daughter's twelfth trip, but her stepsister has never been. We are so excited to take a noob! We usually go in May, but for the 60th anniversary it worked better to go in July. Plus my daughter is getting older and I am more reluctant to take her out of school.

We live in Victoria and always fly Victoria to SNA. I suck up the cost for the airport of my choice, because I usually only have to cover the flights for two people (me and DD) and trying to get to another airport just adds more stress and anxiety. Which to me is worth the cost of a few hundred dollars. We are not dedicated to staying in a resort hotel (but have done so) so we save money that way.

We're going in November from Vanderhoof. (Prince George area). 3 of 6 of us are going. Myself, my oldest daughter and my youngest daughter. Everyone else opted not to come...I can't imagine opting OUT of a Disney trip!!! We're staying at POP. It's our second trip to WDW, first time staying on Disney property.

Planning a trip to WDW in August 2015, trying to decide where to fly from. We flew out of Seattle last summer, but are considering flying out of yyj this time, what kind of prices are people finding these days?
