Credits for using Amazon No-Rush Shipping if you have Prime

When I check out through amazon now it always offers $1 credit for eBooks, digital music and videos if I choose no-rush shipping instead of the free 2 day shipping.

Has anyone done this? I guess it holds true that it can only be used on those things that are listed? Also, if you have more that one credit, do they stack?

I never buy any of those things, so I don't see that it's worth the $1, but maybe my kids could get a movie or something to watch some night if I built up enough credits.

Just wondered other people's experiences.

I do it all the time. Your credits go into an account and they automatically use them when you buy ebooks, digitally music, or video.

The other day they offered me a $5.99 Amazon pantry credit. I couldn't do it because I actually needed that item right away. I've ordered three times since then and haven't been offered it again. Hope it pops back up because wouldn't mind delaying my shopping for that one.

Yes, I see that all the time. I believe they expire though, not right away, maybe like in two or three months? But they do accumulate.

I choose the no rush anytime I don't need it by a specific day. Right now, I have credits in music and credits in video. It separates it out by category. Amazon will send you an email with the expiration date of the promotional credit. I think I have credits expiring anywhere between 3 months to 12 months from the date of the purchase.

Cool i never noticed this option either. I just chose it for a recent order. Thanks OP!

I use this all the time and delay my shipping. We have rented tons of movies and bought quite a few books. We even bought a season of a tv show the other day for half price with credits (was about $20 before). So, yes, they do stack! It's such a nice option for us Prime members!

I use this feature all the time. It works great. I hope to have enough credits by the end of the to cover the cost of Amazon Prime (or at lease half of it)

Is there someplace on my account that I can see the balance of these credits? I've done it a few times and I'd like to see how much I have on my balance.

It's impossible to find! I have to google it everytime. It shows up as video/music credit, I've never used it for ebooks.

FWIW we pick this option all the time now because the "2day" shipping for us is consistently more than 2 days because they now go through USPS.

Thanks everyone! I ended up just choosing the slower shipping to get the credit. We'll see how long it takes to get here, but I'm sure we can figure some way to use the credit!

I had to order a few phone cases for DH's work today and I noticed that if you choose the $1 credit you only get $1 even though I was ordering 3 items that had free prime shipping. I didn't do this because he needs the cases ASAP, but i would think you could split the order into 3 orders and get $3 in credits for ordering the same things. I don't know if that's cheating or not though??

Thank you. We are pretty lucky, we have only ever had one thing late with prime. And that item was completely lost, never to turn up. I used the long shipping the other day to get the extra credit and it still came within two days. I was pretty impressed.

I am a huge fan of Amazon Prime. I've also used the ship no rush option several times. All the items arrived quickly anyway, 2 or 3 days.

That link is a little misleading, but that is where you can see your balance. Just keep in mind, even though it shows up so much under video credit and the same amount under music credit, those are not really different balances (and you can use them for Kindle books too, even though that doesn't show up as a category). For example, if you see $5 under music and $5 under video, that means you have $5 total that can be used for either digital music, digital video, or Kindle books. Then let's say you buy a song for $1 and a Kindle book for $3, the next time you check your balance you will see $1 under music and $1 under video.

I don't know if it's a glitch or not, but if my order gets split into multiple shipments, I have gotten the credit for each shipment even though it's all the same order.

this has nothing to do with the post or anything. I just love your signature and it made me :)

I use this a lot-the credits are great for when my son wants an app or game on his kindle-the amount we have in credit shows up on his kindle when the purchase screen comes up (his purchasing power is locked-requires parental code to actually get anything-even free). It also then gives me the option to use the credit or not.
I have found that "regular" shipping (vs the 2 day prime) isn't that much slower - maybe 1 or 2 days.

So since this is a thread about Amazon, I thought I'd inquire about something strange that happened in an order I just made. My husband and I just both got the Galaxy S6 so we needed some new cases. We got the same one. It's listed at $29.99 (each) but $9.99 for Prime. I go to the check out and my total is $1.08 for both :scratchin It says SEE ORDER SUMMARY FOR DISCOUNTS APPLIED. There is NO explanation-just $18.98 promotional credit so essentially I paid for the tax. Now, don't get me wrong; this is incredibly cool as my husband nearly purchased ONE at Target for $40 :faint: But, what gives? I'm sure the shipping alone costs more than what I paid!
