Hi Everyone,

We are looking to book for Aug 16 - me, DH, and DD (14)

Only doing Disney, Universal, Discovery Cove and shopping this time.

Thinking of staying onsite 1st week for free dining but 2nd week, will be doing Universal, Discovery Cove etc - ideally wanted a villa with pool, but are there any areas around their that rent villas - failing that hotel with separate bedroom, and possible kitchenette, but near to restaurants, nightlife etc as DH likes a drink, so doesn't want to drive in the evenings - any ideas anyone.

Trying to do it on a budget...so universal hotels out really... Have stayed at Hard Rock a few times but having to watch the pennies this time.

The designated Sea World hotel was competitively priced last time I looked at it. Have you considered that?
No…to be honest we have only stayed at Hard Rock hotel in that area before - usually stay onsite or Kissimmee if we get a villa- will have a look thank you

I read a trip report where the poster had stayed at the Residence Inn on Westwood Blvd, it is a suite hotel with SeaWorld perks. They stayed in a 1br and gave it a good review. I don't know that you could walk to any restaurants though. We usually stay in Kissimmee too at somewhere like Windsor Hills or Emerald Island. We have also stayed at the Sheraton Vistana, but again none of these places are within walking distance of anywhere although we have enjoyed each one.

Have you found anywhere yet?

No still happily browsing at the moment...I love this part:goodvibes love hearing people's views on places and love booking from good word of mouth reviews than just guessing.
Will wait for hopefully free dining to come out first and book the Disney week but then was hoping for a more relaxed 2nd week - will only do Universal, Discovery Cove and abit of shopping - but still wanted to be near things. :dancer:

We go in July and are staying at CSR for 4 nights and then staying in a condo for 15 nights. I love the extra space you get, and as we are taking our nephew this year and my DD (both teenagers), 3 bedrooms will be great :goodvibes

I know... I must admit we love space too...I know your not really in your accommodation that much- but it is nice if your having a chill day to relax in nice surroundings - where about are you staying in your condo

you have condos at Cypress Point and Grande Villas, these are, on paper anyway, within half a mile of lots of bars and restaurants etc.

We are staying at Windsor Hills

We always stay in a 2 bedroom villa (apartment) at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Situated between Typhoon Lagoon and Caribbean Beach. We love it there. Some great pictures here.

Hi There, this looks great although the link directs to 'Orlando Bonnet Creek' is this the one you mean? Or there is another called 'Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek' - just want to make sure.

I stayed at a great hotel called spring hill suits right nr seaworld, got a fab price and the rooms was large! There is a thing Fridays right on property, however we found it a little more way out then I'd have liked,
I second bonnet creek though, we haven't manged to stay there yet as we keep being lured back to disney hotels, however we have visited and it looks amazing for the price, also close to downtown disney!
There is a great thread about it on the resort page, they also have loads of threads on where to stay etc.

That's great! Thank you - I will have a look - I'm abit confused though, as like I said earlier...there's seems to be 2...has it changed its name now. Could you give me a link to the one you mean and what it's actually called. These are the 2 that keep coming up - just want to get the right one for Downtown Disney.

What/Where is Bonnet Creek?
Bonnet Creek Resort is a 70-acre area located in the southeast corner of Walt Disney World. It is not owned by Disney, but is bordered on three sides by Disney-owned land. The entrance is located just east of the entrance to Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort. The concept was to set up a cluster of luxury hotels. There is currently a Wyndham timeshare resort: Wyndham Bonnet Creek (the focus of this thread), the Waldorf Astoria and Hilton Bonnet Creek complex, and an 18 hole golf course.

How do I make a reservation at Bonnet Creek?
Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a timeshare resort. You can rent units from Wyndham timeshare owners. People on this thread have had luck with rentals from ebay, through Ken Price at www.vacationupgrades.com, through Vacation Strategy www.vacationstrategy.com, Farrell's Vacations, and others.

The best price is available when you book within 60 days of your trip. If you make a reservation through Ken Price atwww.vacationupgrades.com, he will automatically check at the 60-day point if there is still availability and rebook you at the lower rate.

Vacation Strategy has an excellent cancellation policy (which is why I've used them personally).

You can also reserve online through Wyndham, but if you reserve through Wyndham, you will be paying much more than what you would pay renting from an owner.

i'm thinking about windsor hills for our big family trip (6 adults, 2 toddlers)...
i thought of renting one of the 5 bedroom/5 bathroom houses with a pool, but i started wondering how well kept the houses are in terms of cleaning..
how has your experience been with the houses in terms of how clean they were?

We have been lucky and found them very clean and well kept,we have stayed in a Townhome 3 times (but that has changed owners now) and a condo twice (again that has just changed owners!).
