EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Congrats on the new car! It's always a bummer to have to spend money on something that you didn't plan to spend it on, but getting a new car is fun at least! What's worse is having to spend it on stuff like fixing drainage issues in your yard or putting new windows in your house - ugh! Super expensive and nobody will know you've done a thing. At least people will see you driving in that pretty new car:) Just be careful about your kids sneaking a drive in it. I got a new car for Christmas (my other was 11 years old), and my sixteen year old took her sister to the mall last weekend in my car...she has her own car! And she went to the mall that is 30 minutes from here rather than the other two malls that are 10 minutes away. At least she was smart enough to know that she should wait a few months before sneaking away in it. The funny thing is, as my husband and I left to go shopping in the other car, I asked my husband," you don't think she will take my car, do you?" I knew she was taking her sister shopping...but not in my car, and it was supposed to be at the mall in our town! Fortunately, she didn't wreck my car. I was just warning you....but maybe your kids would never do that.

Luckily my oldest is still 15 so no driving for him yet! :) But I'm sure next year he'll be trying to grab my keys! ;)

Should I move my GF stay to the first week of August right before school starts, or to October and go over fall break? Last August was soooo brutal and hot. I literally thought we were going to burn alive. I'm leaning towards October and F&W! I guess I better check and see if I can even find availability to change it! :scared: I really really want to stay there.

October! I love the fall decorations and F&W. We go in August so the kids don't miss school, but given the choice, October hands down!

They get a 4-day weekend for fall break. So they'd probably need to miss a couple of days of school to make the trip long enough. I really don't like going down less than 6 or 7 nights. Hmmmmm.... Or I could move it to December when the gingerbread house is up! But that seems way too far off!

I'm already wanting to book December, I have to make use of the AP. Airfare for the 7 of us is just nuts....so it may have to wait for Spring. Tough choices right? Ahhhh the GF, RPC is on my list to try, unfortunately my crew have other plans. I am very excited to read all the BC CL love here :), come on summer

Hey gang!!! :)
I have some bad news, some good news, and some bad news. LOL
I was having issues with my Tahoe, took it to 3 different mechanics, and all of them said it needs an engine overhaul :crazy2: and that would cost about 4 grand. :( So I dipped into my vacation budget and bought myself a new car!!!!! :car:

View attachment 89108

It's a 2015 Traverse , and I got AWD so it's still good for driving in the snow and ice like my Tahoe was. :cloud9: I love it!!! And it's the first time I've bought a car all by myself!!! I was a nervous wreck the whole time. I don't know a thing about making deals or checking out engines, so hopefully I didn't get taken for a fool.

The second bad news is I might have to postpone our June trip for a few months until my wallet recovers. But I told the boys this new car was more important and sometimes things happen that are unexpected and you have to sacrifice something in order to do what is best. They were actually cool with it and then proceeded to argue all night about who would sit in the front seat. :rotfl2:

Congrats on the car! It looks great. Sorry about the trip but at least you know you will be there soon!

Nothing available at the GF RPC late July, early August, fall break, or Christmas break. Maybe I need to rethink changing our plans. Hmmmmm... :scratchin

The only thing I could get was a king room RPC. It has a king and a daybed. How would that work with the kids???

Erika...Congrats on the new car! :goodvibes Sorry that it impacted the vacation budget...

The deluxe king turret rooms in RPC are very large. ..and could easily accommodate a roll away..and there is a sofa/day bed....so between the king bed, day bed and a roll away everyone could have their own sleep space. ...

Did you call for availability. .or just check on line?? Because while the deluxe kings show up online...for some reason the deluxe queens do not...so you would have to call to check availability for those. ..

Sorry that you have to move your trip...I think ours would have over lapped. ..and we could have said Hi in the lounge...Hope you are able to get a room in RPC for your new dates! :thumbsup2

Hi pas ! :flower3:

After a wonderful tutorial from Trish on how to post pics I tried to upload some deluxe room pics for you Erika... but I keep getting an error message!??? :crazy2:....If you want to see them just pm me your email...I will send them to you...:goodvibes

Hi pas ! :flower3:

I called right before they closed at 10. I was thinking maybe change to a split stay. We could do 4 nights at the GF and 3 nights move to something else cheaper. But now that I think more about that king room maybe it would work! Plus my oldest son turns 16 in August so that would be special. :D

The rooms in RPC book up really fast, although I have to admit, I thought it was more the Deluxe rooms since there aren't that many. We've already booked our February 2016 RPC room! I was actually thinking the same thing as Blueskies on the Deluxe King room. I wish my kids could stay in that room (we can't all fit). There is plenty of room for a rollaway by the desk, against the window. You should be able to see it in one of the pictures I posted from our king Turret room a couple of months ago. I hope you get to go! Was that for October? I love going then because of the Halloween Party!! We went the first week of August once and said never again! It was too hot and too crowded, plus no MNSSHP!

Actually the king rpc room is showing for August and October now. I love going during Halloween and MNSSHP but the kids missing school is a huge issue. They only have a 4-day fall break. Plus Connor is starting high school and taking 3 honors classes, I worry missing even a couple of days could really stress him out. Also Nic almost always ends up having marching band commitments around that time. Fall is crazy around here. Maybe I should just sell my old Tahoe to fund the trip! :scratchin

I posted this to the Wilderness Lodge thread, but may be better answered here....

We have been to the WL 9 times over the past 18 years (with a few stays in between at the Poly and POR) and we are bringing our daughter down in august to move down for the disney college program for the fall. Her dream started with her first stay at 16 months old on her first trip at the WL and of course she wants to stay there before she moves in. We are staying there for 3 nights before her move in day and she is aware we are. I want to surprise her with a club level stay as we've never done one and I know she would love it.

My question is we do not eat meat or shell fish. Do they ever put out any vegetarian hot dishes like a pasta? Or is it a fixed setting each night? I guess we could get by with the salads in the evening, and I know we would be going to dinner anyway, but I wondered if there was ever a chance to talk to a cm about vegetarian choices.

Thanks

The main hot appetizer usually has meat. But they always have some sort of salad along with crudites, bread, etc. When we were there in December they put out a huge spread, but I've heard they recently downsized their evening offerings. Honestly I wouldn't let this be a deciding factor, I say go for it and enjoy! :)

Just wanted to add my opinion on doing 9 days at Poly CL... We are fans of split stays and usually like to spend around 4-5 days in each resort. We once stayed 7 nts CL at the Poly (it was during the pay for 4 get 7 days deal, so we altered our split to save the money). My whole family felt like we were there too long (we were tired of the food, esp. the breakfast and snack since there was no variation day to day). It just felt too long for us, but I know plenty of people who would happily spend a week or more over there. For 9 nights, if it were my trip, I'd split it with an Epcot resort or just any resort that you've been wanting to try.
Thank you for the advice. I finally changed our reservation yesterday. We are now staying 4 nights at BC CL and 5 nigh Poly CL. While I would be fine staying 9 nights at one resort I think we would be sick of the same CL for 9 nights. We are really looking forward to it being split between Epcot resorts and monorail. Makes life so much easier.
