October 2015... are we there yet??

Hi everyone!

I'm from Australia and my husband and I will be visiting WDW for the first time in early October 2015! We are staying 4 nights at Pop Century.

I would love to attend the Halloween Party, does anyone know when the dates are released?

Also I'm a bit confused about booking Dining Reservations and Fast passes. Is it 180 days from the trip for booking both these? So Should my strategy be to book dining first then the fast passes around the corresponding parks? Or the other way around? If that makes sense! And if it's 180 days out does that mean I can only book for one day of my trip at a time, not the whole trip at once unless I wait 176 days out?

Thanks to anyone who can clarify! And happy new year :yay:

Hello our Australian Friend, I have found that we book one day of our visit each day, 180 days out. Dining First, but that's my priority. I'm not certain that's required but that's just what we've always done. You can search the release dates for most anything you you're looking for. Check the historical release dates for the Halloween Party and watch the calendar.
Be sure to research your visit, mostly your daily schedule and the things you want to do and see. Everything else is secondary. WDW is very, very large and sometimes depending on crowds, it may take some time to get from A to B.
Take your time and enjoy.

Since you are staying at a Disney Resort, you can book all of your dining reservations 180 days before your arrival date. I agree that it is best to make your dining reservations before your fastpasses.

Welcome to Disboards! As mentioned, you will be able to book all of your dining 180 days from check in. This can be done online beginning at 6am EST or by phone at 7am EST. Fastpasses can be booked 60 days from arrival as long as you have tickets linked to your Disney account. For MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) tickets go on sale on or around May 1st. The party is a blast! Pop is our favorite resort. You'll love the atmosphere there. So fun! Happy planning! :)

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

Actually, I think you can book dining reservations at 180 days + 10 since you're staying at a Disney Resort. :flower:

Welcome to the boards! We are planning our trip for Sept 27-Oct 3 and we are also looking forward to going to MNSSHP! Looks like a great time to be there!

How do we go about making the reseverations? The calendar will only show 180 days out and we are 188?

If staying onsite, you can begin booking your reservations 180 days from your check in date for your check in date + the following 10 days of your stay. If offsite, you must make them 180 days from each date you want to dine.

Ah, we're at Pop so that's a cool thing for us, Thank you for the quick response (love your costumes).

WELCOME!! I think everyone has answered your questions about ADRs. The dates for MSSHP have been released. I believe there is a thread somewhere on the board. I'm going the first night of the party. It is always a lot of fun! Have a magical time!!
