Best Price For Bonnett Creek

I know this resort is discussed often here and there's a lot of information to search through so I apologize if this question has been answered before.

I've read a lot of rave reviews about this resort and so many people have said they've gotten reasonable deals on their stay. I was just curious how everyone is getting the best price for the resort. I checked through their website and I doubt that's the price everyone is so excited about. :)

Thanks!

We've paid as little as $554 for the last week of August to $750 for Easter week in a 2 bedroom on eBay.

I check eBay constantly for Bonnet Creek listings around our vacation timeframe. The August trip was booked about 3.5 weeks out. The Easter trip was booked in mid-September and I was surprised to get it for such a great rate TBH.

I always make a cancelable backup that we're ok staying at if nothing better comes through -- it's usually the Embassy Suites on Kyngs Heath Road. Then I stalk eBay and hope for the best. (We've also gotten Sheraton Vistana and Grand Beach Resort through eBay and they were great too). Luckily, I haven't had any issues booking through eBay. I remember back in the Fall, several people were scammed on WBC rentals through eBay and VRBO, so I always hold my breath and check 7 days before check-in to make sure our reservation is in the system, and so far it has been.

Two trips, both December week before Xmas week.
- One bedroom $320 for the week. TOTAL $46 per night.
- Two bedroom $620 for the week. TOTAL $88 per night.

Both times I used SkyAuction.
The one bedroom stay I did an auction. Won for $1 plus $299 standard resort fee charge plus $20 SkyAuction admin fee.
The two bedroom stay I did a buy it now option. Offer was $599 with resort fees included plus $20 SkyAuction admin fee.

SkyAuction is great but always read all the fine print. Auction vs Buy it Now. Added on Resort fees (for week at condo usually $299, hotels it varies and is per night) or if an offer with them included. UPCHARGES which are usually particular more popular dates, bigger space than advertised. Mostly non-refundable. SCROLL and read all the way.

I currently have a week in May booked at Vistana Resort Villas, 2 bedroom for $67 per night. This time I did a fee for ability to cancel.

I am always more than happy to get a Wyndham resort for less than $50 per room per night. This goes for our Wyndham Glacier Canyon in Wisconsin Dells, WI too. I think it is quite a steal to get a 4 bdrm for less than $200 (or a 3 bdrm less than $150, etc), and you get access to the pools, amenities, and you get a large living room area, kitchen and laundry. I love the Wyndham resorts and have a hard time lately getting less than $70/night at a 'normal' hotel without the kitchen, living room, laundry.

The key to a deal is to shop around. There is no one-stop place.
You can often find deals at tugbbs.com
Also, redweek.com is another place to look

I always book through Ken and Denise Price at vacationupgrades.com

They are awesome!
Can you tell me more about this? I've only ever booked regular hotels through their website so I am way out of my league here. Is there any fine print or risk to renting this way?

Who did you book through to get such a great price?

No risk other than you can't cancel less than 30 days prior to your trip and get a refund. Ken and Denise are highly recommended if you search through the Bonnet Creek forums - I was tipped off to them by other members of the forum. We just got back yesterday from 6 days at WBC and we booked through Ken and Denise at vacationupgrades.com. It was great - WBC is a great facility and Ken and Denise were super easy and responsive to work through.

Hi!
I would look at their site and send them an email to get all the details. It's not like booking through a hotel where you can cancel with no penalty up until the day before. However, they are super nice people and have an excellent reputation here on the Dis. I've booked through them a few times, and I've referred 4 different friends. We all had great experiences each time. I know plenty of people get even better deals through ebay and, sometimes, Vacation Strategy, but Ken and Denise have been booking WBC for a very long time and I trust them completely. Enjoy if you end up going!

I'll definitely look into this. I'd much prefer getting a discount through a more reputable place than getting a better discount on a gamble. Just one more quick question and then I'll talk with them...do you have to pay upfront at the time of booking or do you pay shortly before the trip?

If I'm remembering correctly, you pay 50% up front and then the remainder 30 days prior to arrival. But don't quote me! LOL. For my first trip, they only took checks and I was very nervous, despite their awesome reputation. By the time I took my next trip they accepted PayPal. However, I trusted them completely and just paid by check.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure they have a generous cancellation policy. I just didn't want you thinking it was like a hotel that could be cancelled up until the last minute.

I booked ours for this July via VRBO.com. $675 for 4 nights for a 2-bedroom. Not the cheapest, but less than $200/night, and it was through a travel agency.

I bought a 2 bedroom for 7 nights in June on ebay for $900. I contacted Ken Price but he had nothing available for my dates.
