:crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:Ok this is the first time I have booked DIY and also responsible for another family who have whole heartedly but everything in my hands. So far we have booked our villa great. Next step RPR for 4 nights been waiting patiently for dates to go up....now they have and to scared to book please help.
We are doing 4 nights 29/03/16 in standard room 2 adults 2 children per family cost being quoted for room only $1,696.96
for package with tickets $2,559.56
should we book????? if so which one getting all confused can i get money back through quidco if i book with a third party? Will prices go down it is Easter so will be prime time.
please someone tell me what to do dont want to let anyone down

Is that price direct with Loews? Is that the stay more save more rate?

Won't usually recommend a package. Too many charges for any changes made.

If you book with Loews and rate goes down you can amend it for the cheaper price. However, it is Easter so usually not many bargains around for that time of year.

Yes its the stay more save more rate and I thought that we may not get it much cheaper due to it being high season as its Easter. If I book direct with either Lowes or on the Universal sight can I ammend if a cheaper price comes up what if somewhere like Cheap tickets have a better price at sometime can i change the booking over to them? Dont want to wait to long as I am sure it will book up soon. thanks for your help

I called and they will not honor a rates for third party sites like Cheap Tickets so I ended up booking direct with Cheap Tickets this time since it was a significant savings. You can change your rate with Lowes if a better one come out, we usually start with AAA and then get the passholder rate but this year it just doesn't look like they will release those :( You do have to pay in full on cheap tickets, which is a positive so we have things paid off at least.

ok so i think i should wait until somewhere like Cheap tickets have the dates I want they dont yet do they take bookings from residents in the UK.

it won't be an issue to book the tickets and hotel separately.
book with smsm thru UO and get the discount and room secured early.
if you are going in the easter period, rates can rise closer to that time period and rooms can fill up.

buy your tickets on line thru maple leaf or ut.
there are discounts for the multi day tickets.

i wouldn't worry about having to book it all right now as you have 11 months before your trip begins.
but do book your room as early as you are comfortable with.

if you go with cheap tickets for the room, you do have to pay it all at booking.

smsm rate is good this year, i booked with that for my fall trip.
if you are booked and the rate drops, call and the TM will modify your room rate at your request.
if you book with uo and see cheaptickes have a better price/deal, you can book with them and cancel the UO booking.

Wow Macraven you are brilliant :worship:so have decided to book :yay:now really got nothing to loose i will just feel better securing the two rooms we need and hope the price drops, dont suppose it will as its just after the Easter weekend. I so love the knowledge on these boards. :thanks:

each year i always do a long stay in october for hhn.
i usually book it november 1st for the next year.

the only reason i do that is to guarantee i have the room and the king suite.
i check regularly for rate drops and then the ap rate when it becomes available.
i modify my rate then.
if nothing beats the smsm rate i get when i do book that far out, i'm still good.

my priority is getting the hotel, room type and dates secured, i want that to be etched in stone.

the money is secondary to me on the room.

then in january, i start looking for air fares
i found a direct non stop price i could live with on march 31, so i booked it.

i have the ap for park admission so now my planning is all done.

keep checking over the months for any price drops.
if you can get a super rate from the 3rd party vendors and the same request for rooms, you can always book the trip with them.
then cancel for a refund from the UO booking.
they will cancel room only reservations with a full refund 6 days out from the stay.

MapleLeafTickets.com is the website.
check it out to see if it is better prices for you than UT

i haven't used them but have read many that have.
when i need to buy tickets for other events in orlando, i have used UT.

looks like they do work for those over in the pond.

can i get money back through quidco if i book with a third party?

What is quidco? What 3rd party do you mean?

If I book direct with either Lowes or on the Universal sight can I ammend if a cheaper price comes up

Universal site, I believe, is just packages. No you can't switch rates without a fee.

Loews directly, yes: http://uo.loewshotels.com/en/booking/uo?hotel=UEPBH,UEHRH,UERPR

what if somewhere like Cheap tickets have a better price at sometime can i change the booking over to them?

You can't switch it to Loews, no. Cheaptickets is an online travel agent and they have their own group of rooms to sell. Their room inventory isn't what Loews/Universal has.

can UK residents book through these if so what is or who are ut thanks

UT is undercovertourist.com.

bumber, they can book room only at the universal website.
and switching rates doesn't incur a fee.
i do that regularly when something better comes along.
i call and modify my room rate.

if they book a package, yes you are correct.
there is a $50 charge fee for each and everytime the person makes a change on that reservation package.

i had told this poster previously that she can book thru universal and pay the one nights deposit.

if a better deal comes around, he/she could book with cheap tickets, pay the entire room costs and then cancel the universal reservation that she made perviously.
the one night room deposit is refundable if cancelled 6 days out.
if prices for rooms drop, or a special room rate is released, cheap tickets sometimes does the 15-20% with their code you use for the discount on the lower hotel rates.

quidco, i still haven't figured that one out either.......lol

was hoping you would know and tell me....

mac......quidco is a cash back site. Some people go through that site, and others and you get a certain percentage of cash back on purchases. Never used them so can't answer if you get cash back from booking that, but see a lot of people talk about cash back from these sites. Maybe ask over on the UK boards......they will know I think. Some very helpful posters over there too.

Jakejosh......check UK sites like Florida Escapes and Attraction Tickets Direct for tickets too. They can have good prices for the 14 day unlimited ticket and can be cheaper than the cost of paying for US tickets that have less days on them.

Macraven is right above.......book your rooms direct with Universal and if you get a better deal just cancel and go with the cheaper offer. But you wouldn't be able to amend anything with your third party booking.

Thanks everyone have now booked direct on the Universal site and will now keep eyes open on here and other places for any heads up on discounts etc.
Quidco we use alot they are a site where you get cash back on purchases such as car hire such as Avis they are doing 11% cash back if you book through Quidco at the moment. So far we have earned over £250 cash back on things we would have bought anyway all going into the holiday pot. Sometimes you have to be canny as its not always the best price even Disney are on there.
Thanks I did get eventually that ut was Undercover Tourist.

JJ4. I booked our Universal stay (HRH) through Hotels4U. It was, and has reminded, the cheapest price by quite a bit. I got a Club Level room for what other sites were quoting for a standard room. Only reason I can think why is I booked really early (booked on 22nd June 2014 for August 1st 2015). Got our Universal Tickets and Blue Man Group and Cirque du Soleil) through Attraction Tickets Direct. Their customer service was outstanding. They were within a few pounds of other vendors. I have also booked from the UK.

OK so now that I know what quidco is...if they have a link to a website that is a travel agency, and you do it right, I don't see why you wouldn't get cash back.

We use a cash back site (can't mention the name) and go through hotels.com for all of DH's work travel, and as long as I've done it right we get our credits. (gotta clear cookies, cache, and history before using the link-through, without any shopping around in between) But hotels.com never has a better price on Loews resorts than Loews directly (I book directly through Loews, I don't go through Universal and don't see the point, which is why I didn't know that you could do room-only through them) AND we wouldn't get the YouFirst credit, so we just go direct.
