I was wondering if I can get some input on touring Universal.

The Date is June 14 - 9am -8pm

Group My wife and me and 6 kids - ages 12, 12 10, 10, 8 and 2

After deciding which rides we wanted to experience with the kids my wife and I came to the game plan below.

1) Jurassic park - Wife will be skipping and waiting with the baby and I will be riding with all the kids

2) Shrek 4D - Wife will be skipping and waiting with the baby and I will be riding with all the kids

3) The minions ride - Wife will be skipping and waiting with the baby and I will be riding with all the kids

4) The Mummy- I will be skipping and waiting with the baby and wife will be riding with all the kids

5) The Simpsons - I will be skipping and waiting with the baby and wife will be riding with all the kids

6) Transformers - will be split girls on one ride boys on another

7) Studio Tour - Also will be split between girls and boys the group waiting could possibly eat.

In no way is that the order we were thinking but was wondering if someone can give insight on how to do this. We plan on being and eating breakfast at Dennys around 7am and getting to the park at 8:30am with preferred parking.

Also forgot to mention that if there is anytime at the end we will try to do rides that someone may have missed through the first run

When I do ride swap lets say on Transformers can only one person wait or can we choose for three of us to wait with the baby while three others from our party are on the ride?

Sorry, don't know about rider swap, but you'll have more than enough time to get all the rides done with repeats, if you get there at rope-drop and stay late.

Get to the park early. I recommend heading straight to Despicable Me, then Simpsons. Then head to the lower lot and do Transformers and the Mummy. You can then check if you want to watch any shows (Animal Actors or Special Effects should be around that time). If there are shows, you can head up and watch them. Then you could probably head to Shrek 4D.

Studio Tour is typically empty around 3-5pm. Be sure to check what time the last tram leaves though.

Jurassic Park you can do pretty much whenever you want. The lines go by really quick and the wait shouldn't be more than 20 minutes on the peak times. It's just a matter of when you feel like getting wet, or when you want to make the trek back down to the Lower Lot. You could do this right after the Mummy, then watch some shows, if time permits.

Be sure to plan some time to watch Water World too!

Any particular reason why you're splitting up the girls and boys on Transformers and the Studio Tour? There are more than enough seats for the whole family to ride in one bus (sans one of you and the baby for Transformers).

I forgot about water world thank you! The reason for the split is that all the kids are first timers and my daughter wants to ride the rides with me because we have been talking about them all winter and of course one of my nieces wants to ride with my daughter so we just decided to do a split. We feel the baby wont handle the studio tour well.

Hah, yeah good point on the baby. Kong and the earthquake might be a little too shaky. Good idea to split so one person isn't alone with the baby for an hour+.

Transformers sits 2 rows of 4, so you and your niece could technically both sit with your daughter, unless everyone specifically wants the front row? Just trying to save you more time ;). But either way, split or no split, you should have plenty of time throughout the day.
USH could really just be a half-day park.

Getting between the lower and upper lots with a stroller was a pain. Avoid during nap time! It's a series of LONG escalators, or elevator plus shuttle!

For what it's worth, DD was 2 and 9 months when we went, she was fine with both the Studio Tour and Shrek 4D.

Not sure if this is known, but Shrek 4D is a show, and not a ride. I believe everyone could sit in on it. They have stationary chairs for young children/elderly.

Was king Kong already added? My fear is the king kong 3d will be to much for her and

Yes, King Kong was added to the Studio Tour. There are YouTube videos of the ride, that might give you a better idea. My 2 year old was fine with it, but then she doesn't tend to get scared and every child is different.

By the way, there is a play ground next to the Minions ride and also a water play area that your 2 year old might enjoy.
