Aulani in February?

We are thinking of hitting up Aulani next February during Valentine's day week with our points for a full 7 nights.

Anyone have any experience visiting the resort during that time of year? The points are listed as Adventure Season (which is why we can actually pull this off) but I have been hearing all sorts of issues with crowds regardless and making sure I have all my research in order. So far mixed reviews (resort great when capacity is normal - not so good when over-capacity).

We went the 1st week in Feb.'13 and 2nd week of Sept.'14. We liked Feb. better...we are doing Jan. next year. Never had a problem with crowds either time. Our room was ready when we arrived around 1pm...both times. We don't have kids so we do everything "low" times.

We enjoyed our stay from Feb 7 - 14, 2015, it didn't seem overly crowded to me. So far we've been in Jan, Feb, June, Dec, when we don't have kids with us we avoid the summer months.

Thanks for the helpful info! Our school district gets a February break so we are looking to take the kids along :)

I booked 2 studios for a Valentine's week in 2013. DD was getting married☺️... not at Aulani but a beach north of Honolulu. Had no problems booking 7 months out.

We stayed February 13 - February 21 2015! We needed those dates also because of school vacation time here in MA! We booked rather last minute, 4 months in advance, and got an amazing ocean view studio. The resort ending up being sold out a few of our nights, but never felt crowded. There was even a wedding on our first night there, and we hardly noticed, (except when we were admiring how amazing it must have been to be married there.)

We arrived at 8am on arrival day, and hoped for an early check in, the room was not ready until about 3. The check in desk was very busy, but that didn't stop the cast member checking us in from stopping what she was doing and getting us some Leis. We got our keys and went to the pool.

Cant comment on any kid related activities, because we are kid free (teachers) but do get to the pool on the earlier side for chairs if a certain area is most desired. There are plenty of chairs, and we were able to find some further away from the pool even in the late morning/early afternoon!

We did get a last minute (called 15 minutes before we wanted to head down) reservation to the buffet.

Yes, the resort was busy, but that in no way took away from the excellent level of service! IMHO!

Don't let the reviews scare you, people usually post most when they are not happy, and forget to post when they are. Aulani is a gorgeous resort, and you will most certainly enjoy it, (especially if you are coming from a cold New England winter with tons of snow!) We are considering going back for the exact same week next year, just waiting for Jetblue to release flights for the first leg of our trip!

Hope this helps, let me know if any other questions. Enjoy!
