CharacterPalooza Characters

Sub-question: Does CharacterPalooza typically run on time? The day I'm wanting to go is listed at 6:10 so I was planning to be there by 5:45...just in case it's early. But if they tend to run later, I would like to be able to fit another ride/show in as we are leaving after. CharacterPalooza for the day. Thanks y'all.
 
It won't occur earlier. Plan to get there by 6:00. If it's a 10:30 Fant (2nd show), the earliest time would be between 6:00-6:10.

Oh my gosh, this is literally my exact point of view. I really want to experience Characterpalooza but I'm AWFUL at keeping track of time in Disney World. Pixie dust to you- I'm sure you'll catch it!! :)
 


Check kennythepirate's site. The crowd calendars have the schedule. Only happens when Fant is scheduled.

The day we saw it it was supposed to occur around 5:45. BTW, since I don't think I've seen it mentioned, it's currently inside the gate by the TOT exit, not Animation building or streets of america. Cast member peeked outside a side door right around 5:45 on the dot, but I don't think they actually opened the gates until about 5:50. I would not chance getting there late though, as they close the gate again once everyone who was waiting is inside. I love that they do it this way, as it means that the meet doesn't end up getting swamped by people who just happened to notice the mass of characters. We got to meet pretty much all of them. However, DH got shut out, as he was too late in coming back from riding RnRC - snooze you lose! ;)
 
And if rain is predicted for late afternoon, go to the first Palooza. Yesterday, the 2nd and 3rd Paloozas were rained out.
 
We saw Bolt there year before last, when it was on Streets of America. I don't know if it made any difference, but we were speaking with some cast members at Jedi sign-up and mentioned that we were going to do Characterpalooza...we talked about how much we really wanted to meet Bolt, but knew it was a long shot. When he came out with the other characters that afternoon, I screamed! Maybe they (the cast members) put a little bug in someone's ear...but maybe it was just coincidence!

Bolt is no longer part of Charterpalooza, he was removed from the line up last fall when the sets moved to Tower of Terror (as he doesn't appear in Fantasmic).

However, Bolt is a random character at both Epcot and Studios, so there's still a chance you'd see him elsewhere.

If I understand it takes place once or twice a day with the first around 4 I think I read??
 
We missed this last time, but will definitely be trying to catch it in November! Kenny's the Pirate's info is great!
 
My teenagers are looking forward to characterpalooza as much as anything else on our DHS day. In fact I even changed our ADR time in order not to miss it

Go to Kenny the Pirate's page and check out his character locator calendar for the week that you'll be there. It lists the anticipated time for the Character Palooza set(s). The timing is based off of the number and time of Fantasmic! shows. For example, during my upcoming June trip, Character Palooza is at 6:10 pm and is not held during Star Wars Weekend.
 
I wanted to do Characterpalooza when I was there back in February, but I completely lost track of time. I just happened to check the time and we would have only had 5 minutes to get across the park. I know it's so short anyway, that I figured I'd miss out on most of it anyway. I'll be going back in August for a short trip, so hopefully the plans will work out and I can catch it then.
 
Last summer when Characterpalooza was in Streets of America, it lasted probably 10 minutes. When we were there earlier this month at TOT, it lasted at least a half hour. Basically everyone who was there got to meet every character. The CM running the show said Streets of America just became a mob scene so that's why they were so short and eventually moved. He said now at TOT, there are much fewer people and thus they stay out longer.
