Totally! It costs us the same, if not slightly more, to fly to Orlando than Hawaii.

I agree although it is still about 125 per ticket more to fly to Oahu than to Florida from Denver. But, I am trying to price what we need to have available to fly to Barcelona in 2016 to take a Disney Cruise, and I was in sticker shock at around 1200 to 1300 per person. I wonder if it is much cheaper to fly to Europe from the east coast

BOOK EARLY!

Traveled end of May last yr nonstop United Newark-Honolulu!
Amazing, snagged Roundtrip United for $756 I believe, lowest fare of the summer! Most roundtrips starting in June were as high as 1,050! Really LUCKED OUT!

Airfare to Hawaii is INSANE! BEST OF LUCK!

We booked airfare before the villa. This made me nervous, but it worked out perfectly. Rate was ~800 pp from NYC nonstop on Hawaiian Air.

We are going to Aulani right after my daughter's high school graduation in May. We normally fly from Nashville. We are traveling with a family that lives in Georgia. My friend found airfare from Atlanta to Honolulu on United for $572.60 each! So our family of 4 is flying to Hawaii, from Atlanta with one stop in DC, for $2290.40. We are going to Georgia the day before and staying with our friends. We were surprised to find fares that low. And we haven't seen them that low again since the day we booked.

We booked a few months ago for 11 days in Oahu at the end of October. For 5 of us from Oakland, CA to HNL was $1754 total. $351 pp RT. I am super excited. We will stay in Waikiki for 7 nights and finish our vacation in two 2br villas for 3 nights. I can't wait!

We (me, DH, DS - 3 yrs old)are going to Hawaii in two weeks. We booked our tickets late last year. Cincinnati to Salt Lake City to Honolulu. On the way back it's Maui to L.A. to Cincinnati. Almost $1,200 each after all the fees and seat upgrades (economy comfort). Ouch.

We could've had them for a couple hundred cheaper had we flown through Chicago, but we wanted to break up the trip a little more.

I booked in February for our August trip, flying NYC to Honolulu on a Monday night into Tuesday morning, $854 rt - flight out has a connection in Vegas, flight home is direct. We're flying Hawaiian Airlines. Since then the price has fluctuated down but not hugely and the last time I checked, our $434 flight from NYC to HNL was $900 each! I got concerned that as a family of four I wanted to make sure we all sat together so I didn't want to wait and hope for a much lower fare. My goal had been to get airfare for under $1000 per person so I'm content with that.

My sis-in-law just flew from NYC to FL for the same fare for Spring Break!
