"Does she not know this is the happiest place on earth!?" March 2015 Girls Trip! UPDATE 4/11!

I have yet to eat at Prime Time. I love the pictures you got of the waiting area. Serious time warp going on there.

Awww, when I saw the picture with the phone out at the table I was certain that was going to get a great bit of sass. Bummer.

I like the idea of sharing meals, especially for lunch.

OK, so basically you're saying that Mom's Meatloaf is better than Mom's Meatloaf. :thumbsup2

I didn't go to the preview but I am looking forward to seeing Cinderlla. I've heard it was good.

WOW, that is one long line to get a picture with an inanimate object like the Carriage. Thank goodness her Castle doesn't require that long wait.

That's where I sat the last time I saw Beauty and the Beast. At least the wait for the show was low by that point.

One Man's Dream!!! I always love hearing when people go in there.

I love 50's Prime Time - I've not gotten a meal full of sass either, but I certainly love the food! Pot roast for me, all the way! :thumbsup2

CARROT CAKE COOKIE!!! That is my favorite snack in all of Disney World. :worship:

I hate meatloaf. Like really hate it. I despise it. Probably because when we were younger, my mom would make it pretty often. Except she often overcooked things, so it would come out like a brick with ketchup on top. Love ya mom, but that meatloaf left me forever hating it.
:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Overall, this was a delicious meal. Since counter service meals at DHS are lacking (in my opinion!) I didn’t mind taking an hour break and getting something good to eat. I definitely think Justin and I will have to come back on our next trip.
I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch there! I think your plan to split meals and try a little bit of everything was a good idea.

My cousin is clearly a better creeper than I am, because she snagged this beauty:
That's impressive! How much cropping did it take to get a picture with nobody in it?

I may have split this 60/40.. oops! ;)
It was your idea... only fair!

On my bucket list that I didn’t include for this one, not knowing how long we’d spend at DHS and knowing a Carrot Cake Cookie was my top priority, is a chocolate peanut butter cupcake. Yum. Ok, next time.
I'm not a big carrot cake fan to begin with. I like it, but it isn't something that I just really love. After having one of those cupcakes, I could care less about any carrot cake cookie.

I really really really wanted one of the awesome Cinderella popcorn buckets I'd seen floating around on the internet. On our way out of the park, I stopped at a popcorn stand to ask about them. Unfortunately, they weren't coming out until FRIDAY when the movie came out.. they said they knew the buckets were in Florida somewhere but they had no idea where.. and it was TUESDAY. Seriously, I missed one by a few days!
That stinks. So close...

K wanted to ride RNR one last time before leaving, so she darted over to do Single Rider and was only gone for like 15 minutes. :thumbsup2
Bonus rides on RNRC are always great! I'm sure she appreciated you all waiting for her to ride again.

DHS, in my opinion, is a really hard park to plan. If you want to see shows, you can’t just hop from place to place and say ‘Oh lets do this now’ since you kind of have to run on their schedule.
::yes::

I wish we could’ve done the Frozen Sing-A-Long, but I really don’t know what the audience would have thought if I would have busted out my best rendition of my favorite Frozen song, Love is an Open Door.
You would have fit in fine! That's the point of it being a sing along. Most people in there are doing the same thing.

Please come back and continue! I have loved reading your thread. You make me wish I was a foodie but give me grilled cheese and I am pretty much good to go. I should really start to make a list of all the awesome things you ate and drank. I think my DH would love to try the beer you had in Epcot. Looking forward to hearing more.

Awww, when I saw the picture with the phone out at the table I was certain that was going to get a great bit of sass. Bummer.

I totally thought we'd be in for it too for that. I wonder if she just wasn't a funny waitress or if she didn't think we'd want to play along.. Otherwise a great meal, just missing that little spark I'd been hoping for!

OK, so basically you're saying that Mom's Meatloaf is better than Mom's Meatloaf. :thumbsup2

YEP! Hahaha. My mom agreed thankfully!

I didn't go to the preview but I am looking forward to seeing Cinderlla. I've heard it was good.

SO GOOD.. I am going to see it again this weekend. I think Disney did an awesome job. The stepsisters were hilarious!

That's where I sat the last time I saw Beauty and the Beast. At least the wait for the show was low by that point.

Other than the fact that we were directly in the sun, it was perfect since we didn't have to wait long. Without having kids with us, I couldn't justify getting there a half hour early and missing out on other attractions.

I love 50's Prime Time - I've not gotten a meal full of sass either, but I certainly love the food! Pot roast for me, all the way! :thumbsup2

CARROT CAKE COOKIE!!! That is my favorite snack in all of Disney World. :worship:

That pot roast was deeeeelicious! And that carrot cake cookie... oh boy. I made some at home this weekend as a test run for Easter, and they turned out pretty darn close.

I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch there! I think your plan to split meals and try a little bit of everything was a good idea.

Definitely - we got a great sampling of everything!

That's impressive! How much cropping did it take to get a picture with nobody in it?

I think she waited and snagged one in between people, which was a good idea. Maybe we'll photoshop ourselves in there, haha.

I'm not a big carrot cake fan to begin with. I like it, but it isn't something that I just really love. After having one of those cupcakes, I could care less about any carrot cake cookie.

I need that cupcake!!

Of course! I have a lot of the updates written I just need to insert the pictures. :) Before our trip, I read lots of dining reports and gathered ideas for a "must eat" list. It was a fun idea and I loved getting to try new things. The Schofferhofer beer in Epcot is to die for!!

Hi There :wave2:

I found your report because I also just got back from a March 2015 trip. Then I saw you are also a cheer coach, and were on the March Facebook group! So I'm hooked! I'll be following along. I have only read the first few posts so I'm going back to catch up..

Hey! Thanks so much for reading :) I'll definitely catch up on your TR too. Hope you had an awesome trip!

Hey Ashley! I'm late, but I'm here :goodvibes I've really enjoyed catching up on your trip report. There's probably too much to comment on, but I have to say, I am LOVING all the food pictures :thumbsup2 Disney food is my weakness. I'm excited to hear more :goodvibes

Ashley, I'm sorry I got so far behind. Work was a pain before I went to Phoenix and a bigger pain when I got back. I may miss some things so please forgive me.

What a fun-filled day at the MK. You girls got a lot done. And some really awesome photopass pictures and character interactions. You got a good amount of rides in as well.

I'm glad you all enjoyed Ohanas again for dinner. Mark wants to go to Kona for dinner because they'll sometimes go and get the banana pudding dessert from Ohana and bring it over and that is the only thing he really enjoyed at Ohana.

the Studios still makes it as a 1/2 day park for us. I'm thinking once they start adding the Star Wars stuff, etc., that it will be a longer day as my hubby is a huge Star Wars fan. You got a lot done there too and so glad you had a great lunch, but sorry it was lacking in the sass (that was the only thing we liked about our lunch...the sass). I'm with you...I'm not a meatloaf lover...my mom made it too much and then I did for my kids. Oops!

I can't wait to hear all about Raglan Road.

Thanks!! I am obsessed with Disney food too - I swear I think about/plan around that more than I do the actual attractions, haha. :)

Hi, Kathy! I am so behind too - I still need to catch up on your PTR. We really did get a lot accomplished on our MK day. My mom wants to see/do everything and moves quickly so I actually had to keep up with her, haha!

I'll have to remember that about Kona. We are going to try there for breakfast on our next trip, but I do love the banana bread pudding!

I'm thinking it will be 1/2 day for Justin and I on our next trip. Honestly I was surprised we made it until 5 or 6 pm that day. We did sit down for lunch, but still we stayed longer than I thought. My cousin said it was her favorite park! I don't think I can agree there, haha.

Hey everyone... remember me!? Haha.. I have been MIA for too long - sorry about that! Lots of craziness at work, we're implementing a big project at the end of the month so things have been hectic.

I hope you all had a fantastic Easter! So when I left off, we had just left Hollywood Studios on the fourth day of our trip. We had an ADR for 8 pm that night at Raglan Road.

We had to pack this night before we left for dinner. So sad.. we had only been there for 4 days and we were already packing! But, we still had a dinner and shopping adventure that night, and a whole day tomorrow to look forward to. We were all glad that we added that extra day – I love that Southwest allows you to change your flight for free. We even got a refund because our new flight was cheaper.

We drank some of our nearly-contraband wine as we packed our suitcases for the next day’s departure.

My cousin decided that this was the perfect opportunity to bust out the speakers and have a ‘Let it Go’ jam session.

Which was all fine and good until right before the chorus I turn around and see my aunt, with no pants, left hand full of baby powder ready to go, and right hand with an empty toilet paper roll, singing right into it.

Sweet Jesus, I almost lost it laughing. Sorry for the visual.

We left the room about 6:40, having not spent too much time in there, and headed for a boat. I was so excited to take the boat to DTD on the river!

We passed this guy on the way to the boat dock.. he was beautiful!

DD4B4B63-746A-4981-895A-0836EA160647_zpseg77nido.jpg

We waited for a little since the first boat was full.

Mom was all about the selfies!

We passed the treehouse villas..

E5C16E93-B476-4696-AA11-623C950C8397_zpsgxflebsk.jpg

As we were pulling in, it was starting to get dark..

1AA12F06-07EA-4617-9E2D-708D7726397E_zps2xddjnli.jpg

We arrived fairly quickly. It was probably 30 minutes between leaving the room, waiting for the boat, and arriving at DTD. It took us awhile to park this thing, so we didn’t get off for a few more minutes.

The Christmas Shop was first. Justin and I got an ornament there last year so we decided that each trip we take together, we’ll commemorate by getting a new ornament for our tree.

5322902F-209F-4FAF-A597-0328B5AC36A1_zpsiola9qqw.jpg

My ornament-obsessed mom and aunt spent literally 30 minutes trying to decide which ornaments to get. My mom has 3 trees she decorates every year. THREE. My mom had it narrowed down to 3 ornaments. My aunt had it narrowed down to 2. Then they’d see the price tag, put it down, and pick up a different one in its place. A yi yi. Finally they decided and we could head towards our dinner destination..

Raglan Road!

I have been wanting to try Raglan Road for a while now. Everyone raves about it, especially on a Facebook group I’m in, Disney Foodies. So I was really excited to eat here.

Since it was dark and there were construction walls everywhere, I had positively zero idea where I was going. Thanks to the trusty My Disney Experience app, K and I navigated our way there using the map.

Our reservation was for 8 PM, and we checked in at 7:55.

I always, always, always see openings for this place. It was fairly simple to change times if needed. But when we walked up, the crowds were massive! It’s close to St. Patty’s day, but on a Tuesday? This place was packed. I wonder if it’s because locals like to go to DTD, since there’s no park admission required? Whatever it is, it was really busy that night.

We looked around in the gift shop but our buzzer went off within 10 minutes and we were seated.. right in front of the stage! Awesome.

Sorry this is blurry, but they move so fast!

0B5485B9-C31F-4F4D-840F-CD42F29F6329_zpsi9rrwyej.jpg

I sat next to the secondary stage. It was right behind me.

Within a few minutes of sitting down, a male dancer had gotten up onto the small stage in the middle. I nearly fell off my chair when he started his routine. Seriously, I thought it was a gunshot or something. BOOM BOOM BOOM right into my right ear, haha!

AEFB5292-EFCE-40B2-8329-5A8438BC8201_zpshrv8sqzs.jpg

He was amazing though – I have no clue how he did it. He was awesome and very talented.

Our waiter, Kevin, arrived to take our drink orders. K ordered a beer flight (I know Harp and Guinness were involved, I have no idea what the other two were).

I ordered a Magner’s Pear Cider. My aunt had a soda and my mom had water. I think I've had Magner's before, but it was even more delicious than I recall.

It took him what felt like forever to come back to our table to bring us bread and drinks. 10-15 minutes, at least. Then it took him awhile to get back to take our orders.

In the meantime, what would I order? I don’t typically eat pork, ham, or beef (except on vacation.. and well, I was on vacation), and none of the Irish dishes were really intriguing me.

God awful menu pics, incase anyone's interested.

Things that jumped out at me: the Burger R Way, It’s Not Bleedin Chowder, Fish and Chips, and the Schnitzel (do not ask why, I thought it sounded interesting).

Immediately I ruled out the burger – I felt like I could get that anywhere, although I have seen a few reviews saying it was great.

The ‘It’s not Bleedin Chowder’ sounded good as well.. It's the Freshest cuts of seafood and potatoes in a white wine infused cream broth. But it's not chowder, Ok? $26.00

When it came time to order, my cousin went first. She would have the Bangers and Booz, something she’s had before from other places, that seemed like a traditional Irish dish.

My aunt ordered the salmon. Not really too Irish, it seemed, but that’s what she was in the mood for.

My mom was stumped like me. She went for the Fish & Chips, because Kevin said they were known for them.

Then it came down to me. Mom had ordered the fish and chips, so I didn’t want to get the same. The chowder sounded good, but what was a schnitzel, anyways?! I’m nearly ¾ German, so why I didn’t know already was beyond me.

“What exactly is a schnitzel!?” I asked Kevin.

“A schnitzel is typically pork, but we use ham. It is pounded flat, breaded and fried, and topped with arugula and a fried egg.”

FRIED EGG – SIGN ME UP FOR THE SCHNITZEL!

“It’s topped with baked beans with bacon, and there are chips on the side.”

“Ooh, I’ll take the schnitzel,” I said. “With the baked beans on the side.” (I don’t like baked beans).

We enjoyed the bread and Guinness reduction dipping sauce as we waited. (Sorry, again a blurry picture - it was dark - and no clue why I didn't snag one of the bread, but if you want to use your imagination, it was dark brown ;) )

62215B5C-BBEF-4577-BD8A-CB74DE6BEF48_zpsvxkq5tpk.jpg

The table near us had ordered the Scallop Forest appetizer, and I was salivating. Gosh, why didn’t I just get that instead?! Silly me.

The bread was good. A little heavy, so only one piece was enough for me. The reduction that accompanied it was delicious.

Soon after, our food arrived.

When mine arrived, I kind of just stared at it. My mom asked why I hadn’t yet eaten.. What the heck did I even order!? I asked.

This is what I had ordered:

B6239683-8591-4E5F-9391-802763D5C9D0_zpskloaofh5.jpg

And the baked beans and chips that accompanied it..

Schnitzel Savvy - breaded pan-seared ham schnitzel with smoked bacon baked beans, a fried egg and chips $22.00

I have no idea what I expected, or ordered, like you know when the waiter comes and you’re between a few choices, and you blurt out “I’ll have ____” and that’s not what you meant? Yep, that’s what I did.

I don’t even like ham.

I maybe ate 1/3 of this just for the sake of eating it. It’s not that it was bad. I’m sure many people eat it and love it. But it wasn’t good to me. I like to try things outside of my “usual” eating habits so I thought this would be a good choice.. Well, it wasn’t!

And for the rest of the night, my family teased me about my “What exactly is a schnitzel!?” question.. It never got old, haha!

I ate most of my ‘chips’, tasted the beans a little, ate a fried egg, and a few bites of ham schnitzel.

My cousin really enjoyed her entree:

B299F307-D161-4AF3-8F2F-FC7DC1AC815A_zpsd8aj7sea.jpg

Bangers and Booz - Guinness and onion bangers on mash, topped with caramelized onions and beef stew $20.00

I tasted a bit of the stew and mashed potatoes and they were good.

My aunt liked hers, but thought maybe she could have ordered differently. Excuse this picture, as it's downright awful. I basically just stood up over the table and grabbed a picture really quickly, haha. It was pretty dark in there.

E315E66B-E400-4D99-A181-5F92B6EAF10E_zpsueikyqbj.jpg

Saucy Salmon - Pan roasted Atlantic salmon filet with champ potato, wilted spinach and caper and pea sauce $27.00

And lastly, my mom, who had ordered the fish and chips.

34CFD2D0-F2C5-427F-B656-33B548E34E36_zpsmhbdxlch.jpg

Fish and Chips - Our famous beer battered fish & chips served with our fresh tartar sauce. (tip-sprinkle some vinegar on both -- tasty!) Gluten-free option available $20.00

My mom wasn't thrilled with her choice. We all agreed that the fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop (which I think were $11) in the UK were way better. They also gave you two pieces of fish. The portion, I think, was larger at YC. I think my mom was similar to me here - picked something we thought we'd like, didn't end up loving it, but nothing else on the menu really interested us.

For dessert, we ordered Ger’s Bread and Butter Pudding - Like no other pudding you have ever tried. Believe us $8.50

30984E2C-FFF4-48DB-B5F9-0BD01C96234D_zpswkrspoia.jpg

We all split it and it was plenty. MMMM, was this good! It was the perfect ending to our meal.

I still think I like ‘Ohana’s better.

The Irish dancers were lots of fun to watch!

One complaint, although somewhat trivial, is that there’s a bar inside the restaurant. At least where we were seated, bar patrons were free to kind of roam as they pleased. Which meant they were standing in front of us to watch the Irish dancers, and crowding around our table drinking.

It got to the point where my cousin had absolutely no room and was pretty much elbowing people just to eat. So she politely asked the bar-goers near her if they’d mind moving forward so that she had a little more room.

I guess maybe it’s a poor set up, or maybe it was a bad night because lots of people were just there drinking!

It was 9:45 PM by the time we left. The waiter was pretty slow in getting our checks to us. It was a nearly two hour meal.

Overall, I unfortunately don’t know that I’ll be back any time soon. So many people hyped up this restaurant for me and I was really excited about it. I knew it wasn’t something Justin would be interested in, so I was hoping for success with it on our girls trip. My cousin really enjoyed her meal. My aunt said hers was good, but she wished she’d ordered something else other than salmon. My mom was disappointed in the fish and chips and said the ones in the UK at Epcot are way better. And of course, my schnitzel and I didn’t get along too well.

I know this isn’t a Disney owned restaurant, but I don’t think it had a very ‘Disney-esque’-ness to it, if you know what I mean. I just couldn’t place it, but it was probably the worst meal I had during our trip.

For the rest of the night, we joked that I was going to have to ‘schitzel’ after eating the schnitzel.

Now for some shopping! I knew where I wanted to go...

EE4FF4CF-252E-4127-A938-81EF28CFAB28_zpsuwmng7n4.jpg

I felt as if I needed this guy. Until I realized he was $50. :sad2: Oh heck no.

6411074D-2C8B-47E7-B1FF-F120DBCA0DF7_zpsyfgepmep.jpg

We walked around World of Disney for at least 45 minutes, then went into Goofy’s Candy Kitchen. No one else got anything, but I had to have a chocolate rice krispy treat for Justin and I to “share”. I didn't do the make your own, I just got one with M&Ms out of the case.

764F3CA0-B67C-4239-9A98-90D23A568005_zpsds00xokr.jpg

Let’s be real, I ate the whole thing even after telling him I had brought it home for us to “share”. Whoops!

It was nearing 11 PM, and we had to catch a bus back to Port Orleans French Quarter. I was exhausted by now, we all were. We waited for a while and a boat came. Unfortunately we didn’t fit on that one, so we waited another ten minutes or so for another boat. I’m glad we packed beforehand because once we got home, we were passed out!

Ah gee, a horse drawn carriage. Disney.

One of these days I want to take the boat to DTD. I bet the scenery is beautiful.

Yeah, there is no doubt about it. DTD in the day and at night are totally different beasts. So much busier at night and probably a lot for the reason you mentioned. Plus... food.

Awesome spot by the stage. This is one major reason I want to go there, The stage. Yeah that's it, the stage.

So sorry your meal(s) weren't the greatest. I'm not much of a fan of the menu myself.

My mom had it narrowed down to 3 ornaments. My aunt had it narrowed down to 2. Then they’d see the price tag, put it down, and pick up a different one in its place.
Maybe it wouldn't have taken as long to decide if they'd looked at the price tags sooner! :rotfl:

We looked around in the gift shop but our buzzer went off within 10 minutes and we were seated.. right in front of the stage! Awesome.

Sorry this is blurry, but they move so fast!
Wow! Great view of the show!

Ok, I didn't know what it was either. Basically sounds like breaded tenderloin, which is a delicacy in Indiana... with an egg and baked beans. And most importantly bacon. Yeah, I could definitely eat that. :rolleyes1

I have no idea what I expected, or ordered, like you know when the waiter comes and you’re between a few choices, and you blurt out “I’ll have ____” and that’s not what you meant? Yep, that’s what I did.

I don’t even like ham.

Wow... I thought her fish and chips looked good. I'm sorry that neither of you were too impressed by your meals.

The Irish dancers were lots of fun to watch!
I'd imagine so. At least you had that going for you.

One complaint, although somewhat trivial, is that there’s a bar inside the restaurant. At least where we were seated, bar patrons were free to kind of roam as they pleased. Which meant they were standing in front of us to watch the Irish dancers, and crowding around our table drinking.
No. Not trivial at all. That would be extremely frustrating. I always hate being seated at a table where people are standing around hovering near me. Just annoying. And when it comes to the point that you're hitting people with your elbow while eating... :faint:

It was 9:45 PM by the time we left. The waiter was pretty slow in getting our checks to us. It was a nearly two hour meal.
Wow. I don't want to spend 2 hours in any restaurant unless I'm just sitting there having a few drinks and doing it of my own will.

I'm sorry it was a let down for you. I've always seen positive reviews of it as well. I'd like to try it sometime, but it just isn't at the top of the list of places we want to go.

For the rest of the night, we joked that I was going to have to ‘schitzel’ after eating the schnitzel.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Let’s be real, I ate the whole thing even after telling him I had brought it home for us to “share”. Whoops!
I'm impressed that it actually even made it home. Or did it? :confused3 :rotfl:

I was :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: over your Aunt and "Let It Go."

I love horse-drawn carriages.

I'm sorry your meal at Raglan Road was a disappointment. We really love it there. The Schnitzel SHOULD be made with pork and is excellent at German restaurants. I've never had it with the ham so I can't really comment on it. I was not impressed though with the Fish & Chips the last time we were there. And you should have had the Scallops Forest...oh my...to die for (I've had them a number of times with a ceasar salad as my meal and it is perfect). Mark likes going there specifically for the dessert, but he likes the Bangers & Mash.

We've never had the bar people stand in front of us by the stage. That is rather odd.

The Lumiere that you wanted unti you saw the price tag? My son bought that me for my birthday. I love him. But I wouldn't have spent $50 either.

I'm glad you got your Rice Krispie at Goofy's. But you forgot to share. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yeah, there is no doubt about it. DTD in the day and at night are totally different beasts. So much busier at night and probably a lot for the reason you mentioned. Plus... food.

Oh yes! There were people everywhere. I do like it during the day. Some sort of.. calmness to it, I guess.

One of these days I want to take the boat to DTD. I bet the scenery is beautiful.

It was lovely. We passed so many resorts. It did take a while to catch a boat, get there, dock the boat, get off the boat, but I'm sure the bus would've taken equally as long. It was a nice change of pace.

So sorry your meal(s) weren't the greatest. I'm not much of a fan of the menu myself.

Yeah, I think I had hyped it up too much in my head! I think I ordered poorly. Some day I'll go back, for the entertainment and the bread pudding. :)

I'm impressed that it actually even made it home. Or did it? :confused3 :rotfl:

Surprisingly enough, it did not get devoured on the plane. That was what the second bag of Karamell Kuche popcorn was for, hahaha. I brought it home and told my fiance I got it for us to split, a day later he was like "YOU ATE THE KRISPIE TREAT!?" oops....

I'm sorry it was a let down for you. I've always seen positive reviews of it as well. I'd like to try it sometime, but it just isn't at the top of the list of places we want to go.

I think I'll have to try again, but the schnitzel just wasn't my cup of tea. I do need to go back for the bread pudding!

Wow... I thought her fish and chips looked good. I'm sorry that neither of you were too impressed by your meals.

The fish and chips in the UK were infinitely better, in my opinion - maybe since we'd already had those, we expected these to be even better.

I think I chose poorly. My mom and I agreed that the UK fish was better and maybe that was just so good that we thought this would be better!? I think I'll try eventually sometime, because the Scallops Forest is still on my mind. I do love caesar salad - sounds like a great combo!! :)

The Lumiere that you wanted unti you saw the price tag? My son bought that me for my birthday. I love him. But I wouldn't have spent $50 either.

Awwwww how nice of him!!! It is adorable.

I'm glad you got your Rice Krispie at Goofy's. But you forgot to share. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Lol! I mean I planned on it but he didn't made a move, so I just went for it! ;)

The next morning, we were up and at ‘em at 7 AM. We did the same process as usual. Mom showers, Aunt showers, I shower, K showers. K is quick at getting ready so she was always last.

My mom is a crazy commando tour-er, so she wanted to be out the door by 8 to check out, do our luggage, and get to the parks by 9.

I was hoping this would happen, but I didn’t hold my breath.

Don't get me wrong, I love getting there early as well, but it was our last day, we had to drop our bags off and check out, so I did not anticipate leaving the resort too quickly and was okay with the fact that it was going to take longer. In general, my mom and I move at a very fast pace!

The entire trip, no one argued. Not a single bit. It was great, actually. I figured my mom and I would butt heads at least once, or my aunt and cousin would. But honestly, the snarkiness level was at a minimum, which was more than I could ask for.

We left our room at 8:27. I wasn’t overly excited about being late, but I didn’t gripe about it. We were on vacation. We still had a great full day ahead of us.

My mom and I were ready and we thought they were too, so we opened the door and left.. little did we know, they were 5 minutes behind us. My mom was hustling. My 50 lb suitcase and I were not. My belongings and I moseyed down to the elevator while my mom basically flew down the stairs and into the main building. By the time I made it to the elevator and to the front desk, she had already settled the bill and checked out.

We headed towards the luggage area and saw the others coming our way. It was pretty painless to check our luggage, give them our carryons, and get our claim tags for later. My cousin's luggage was 2 pounds over, so she just took a few things out and put them in her mom's bag.

We took a spin through the food court to fill our water bottles and grab some coffee..

GOOD MORNING!

At 8:45-ish we were at the bus stop for Epcot. It appeared that a bus had recently left, so my mom got all huffy. She started saying “Well this is why you get up early and don’t take your good old time.” So my cousin snapped and said “I got up and got ready as fast as I can. I’m sorry it was not per your schedule.”

Ouch.

Awkward silence for about 10 seconds until my mom says, “Don’t get sassy with me!” (She might have used a choice swear word here in lieu of "sassy", but in order to keep this PG, I'll omit that)..

Awkward silence again. I hate that kind of stuff. I don’t like to cause moments like that so I usually don’t say what I’m thinking if I can’t say it in the nicest way possible without causing a problem.

We waited for probably 15 minutes for a bus. One for DTD had just pulled up and some people were getting on. A large crowd had formed for Epcot.

This is where everyone - literally all 25 people waiting near us for an Epcot bus - freaked out.

The bus for Epcot pulled up behind the DTD bus, opened its doors, and let a ton of people on. The problem? All of these people had JUST walked up, and the ones waiting inside the bus stop area, near where the bus usually picks up, had been there for close to 20 minutes. The ones that had just walked up all hopped on.

A CM was standing in the bus stop area. I’m not sure what her function was, but I think she may have been recording the times that buses come and go. She had a clipboard.

An unhappy guest said to her, “I better get a seat on this bus. I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes and all of these people just walked up and got right on. Are you going to do something about this if all of us don’t get on this bus!?”

The CM replied, “Mam, I can’t control where he stops and who gets on the bus.”

My opinion, because I’m sure you all care, is that the bus driver should have stopped, but kept his doors closed. Then pulled up when the DTD bus pulled away. I think. Was it fair that all of those people got to get on first, and all of the earlier people had to stand? Not really. But it is what it is, I guess. I was going to Epcot, so I wasn’t too upset about it!

Well, we were to Epcot by like 9:25, so it wasn’t too bad after all.

Our plan was to ride Test Track first thing then get to the Land for our 10:05 FP for Soarin’. I again had to explain the tiering system to my party, and that no, we did not have a FP+ for Test Track, that is why we wanted to get here by 9, to get right on to the ride.

Test Track Standby had a 55 minute wait. 55. Minute. Wait. At 9:30 AM. Holy cow.

I did my best to capture that, but you'll see I failed..

So I mentioned Single Rider only had a 10 minute wait, and everyone was like.. Oh heck yeah!

I could care less about riding single rider if it meant I only had a 10 minute wait.

My aunt sat this one out. I hadn’t been on this in ages! Last time, we were in line for it with a FP+ when it broke down. We never did get to ride.

My mom and I ended up in the same car. My cousin was in the car behind us.

Here we are, I'm shielding my eyes from the sun. I need sunglasses at all times when it's sunny. And my mom is lovin it.

When we exited, we checked out Mousegears real quick because my mom was indecisive on a t-shirt. She ended up with a pink 2015 one. I swear we probably looked at t-shirts for a total of 3 hours on this trip because she could not decide which one she wanted! Haha. I hope she wears that thing every day. ;)

I think we stopped for some PP pics right after..

We did Soarin’ after that, and my cousin asked about Mission Space. I told her I was absolutely positively without a doubt NOT getting on that thing for fear of motion sickness and claustrophobia, but I explained the ride to my family and offered to sit while they rode. They declined. My mom told me the last time they came (my family came in 2011 while I was in college) my then 11-year-old brother didn't want to go on, but everyone else did, and it traumatized him so badly that he cried hysterically before, during, and after the ride. We are cut from the same cloth.

Since we had really done all of our attractions Saturday, I had added our other 2 FP’s for things I knew we wouldn’t really want to do, which I think were Captain EO and Figment. I only did that so we could get more later at MK.

We headed to Mexico and went through that way to get to our next destination, Via Napoli!

Wow, a family trip with no real issues????? Yeah, I count that as a VERY solid win despite the little bus stop dust up.

By the time I made it to the elevator and to the front desk, she had already settled the bill and checked out.

:lmao: OMG reading that made me chuckle. Mom does not play around.

Yeah, I agree Ashley. I think the bus stop situation was not cool at all. There was no need to open the doors at that point.

You know, I never thought of myself as claustrophobic before. But Mission Space, while I do like it, shows me that I am at least a bit. That is a seriously tight space.

Uh oh... :scared:

Awkward silence for about 10 seconds until my mom says, “Don’t get sassy with me!” (She might have used a choice swear word here in lieu of "sassy", but in order to keep this PG, I'll omit that)..
I think I've got the picture. :rotfl2:

The CM replied, “Mam, I can’t control where he stops and who gets on the bus.”
:sad2: Wow. That's helpful. Can they at least control getting another bus there ASAP to make up for it????

My opinion, because I’m sure you all care, is that the bus driver should have stopped, but kept his doors closed. Then pulled up when the DTD bus pulled away. I think. Was it fair that all of those people got to get on first, and all of the earlier people had to stand? Not really.
I agree. Not a very good idea on the driver's part. And those who got on the bus certainly should have had more respect for everyone who was already there waiting.

But it is what it is, I guess. I was going to Epcot, so I wasn’t too upset about it!
But that's the important thing. I'm glad you at least got on!

Test Track Standby had a 55 minute wait. 55. Minute. Wait. At 9:30 AM. Holy cow.
Yep... thanks to the tier system. :sad2:

I'm glad that you were able to recover from the bus stop issues to have some fun at EPCOT. Everybody looks like they're smiling and happy in the PP picture at the end of the update. :thumbsup2:rotfl:

I just sat here and read this whole report. Loving it. Too bad it's almost over! Sounds like you all had a great time!
