Questions regarding Fantasy

Okay I am so confused. Why do people bring more then one bathing suit?

I'm not judging or anything, I am seriously wondering o.o This is kind of amazingly weird news to me! lol
So that they're not trying to pull on a wet, cold swim suit when they want to go to the pool/beach.

Wow. Seriously, this has blown my mind. I mean this seriously and not sarcastically or an april fools thing or anything.

Yeah. I really can't wrap my brain around this! lol

Thank you for answering! :)

Because I have a lot of cute swimsuits and I'd hate to have to decide at home which one, two or three to choose. I like to have options. The same goes with clothes and shoes. I always overpack but somehow manage to DS8 and my stuff in one suitcase (and he always has extra too :)

really?
Why do you bring more than one dress? More than one top? More than one pair of shorts?

Lol guys, I don't mean to offend anyone. I really didn't know people packed more then one bathing suit.
I'm laughing at myself for finding this so mind blowing! Lol really, just ... little things lol

Guess you guys know my answer for #1 ... One bathing suit here! lol

I completely understand that ^_^

For me, I suppose I pack multiple dresses for certain things: 1 formal dress for formal night, 1 sundress that I wear multiple times for sundeck, 1 outfit for fly-in/fly out days. So I pack for situations, not days, really. For me, swimming is one task/situation, so 1 bathing suit.
I don't think you or anyone should think like me, thinking differently makes the world go round, I just find it weird and I just ... I don't understand lol.

You girls rock your multiple bathing suits!

OH MY GOSH I UNDERSTAND NOW!!

Swimming/Beach is important to those of you that pack more than 1 swimsuit. You want to make sure that you can still enjoy what you really want to do, so you just pack multiples to make sure.
It's like when I pack multiple sets of earplugs; I don't need more then one, but I bring more because making sure I can sleep (DH snores) is very important to me. Like swimming/beach is to you guys!

Oh my gosh. I got it.

So sorry OP for taking over thread.

*cough* I recommend 2 bathing suits if swimming is important! :D

I only brought 2 suits and had to put on a semi-damp suit once in awhile because they hadn't yet dried fully between wears. I may bring 3 next time or work on my wringing muscles. :P

We are getting closer and closer.... and I thought of these questions last night at 1 am...

1. how many bathing suits do you ladies pack for yourself? I have two but was contemplating to bring one more... I bring at least 3 for my daughter and me so we always have a dry one to put on.

2. When you purchase alcoholic drinks ex. drink of the day.... is gratuity automatically added to your drink and how much? 15%

3. I was looking at deck plans for our FE and am confused because I see three sets of elevators on different floors. Can I walk the entire deck or are there various elevators/stairs that I have to take to get me to certain staterooms. (I really hope this makes sense... as it is needing it to be!) most of the decks loop all the way around. When I did the FE, I put all the starboard side by deck in their own bags and the port side by deck in their own bags.

4. How late can you be to dinner (first seating) because say for example Tianna will be appearing at 5:15pm and your three year old wants to have her picture taken with her? If you get in line 10-15 minutes before a 5:15pm character meet you should be towards the front of the line. You can see the character and have time to get to dinner. They do have a cut off for getting in the line to wait so the character can depart on time.

5. How many of your kids actually make it up to see the Fireworks? 6 and 3 year olds? As well as going into the kid clubs at night.. for example pluto's pajama party... at 9pm.. my girls are in bed each night by 7:15/7:30pm.. Maybe I should let them sleep later before the trip? I'm not much help here since my kids are older. I'd just see how the day went before deciding wether to go or not.

6. Is pineapple juice available at the drink stations... in case I want to make a mommy drink? :-) I think Shmoo answered this well for you.

7. Is there a alcohol drink package that is available or do you just by on a need basis? Just wine & beer

Does anyone know if the Fantasy cruise offers Easter observances on board? possibly a mass on Sunday?

In the past DCL has had Easter morning services available. I can't guarantee they will, but I'll hazard a guess that it will happen.

3 -- Most decks, you can walk all the way across. The very top 1-2 decks are a bit broken up.
4-- They don't advertise it, but you can be pretty late. We were 30 minutes late 1 day, and we were seated without objection. Only problem was, it made us the last to get served, and we had a very very long wait.
5-- Depends on you. Some families greatly change bedtime when on such a vacation. When we cruised with kids around that age, we definitely extended them a little bit. Last year, when they were 9 and 7, they stayed up very late in the club. The 6 yo may find reserves of energy, though I think your 3 yo will need lots of naps, lol.
7-- I don't recall a shipwide package, but at the Skyline Bar, they offered a bit package good at their bar. Also, the mixology class is a great way to drink a good amount in one sitting on the cheap, lol.

A second, in case the first isn't dry yet. Not sure why to bring more than 2, lol.

I should have mentioned that is why I was asking regarding the floors and elevators. I am mapping out fe distributions!

I would try very hard to not be late to dinner. It will throw everything off. Each dinner is a 'performance' of its own and is timed as perfectly as possible to get hot food delivered in what seems a luxuriously slow pace but in reality there is not too much time between the main and late seating. We have seen tablecloths flying off the tables as the main seating guests leave. Also, if you have another family you are placed with, they will wonder if you are not showing up, should they start with out you, etc......

Many kids stay up late. WE too, usually have our kids go to bed quite early, but not when we are cruising. This is their vacation too......I don't think you need to 'practice' staying up late.

You can bring alcohol aboard the ships. You just need to be able to carry it aboard. There are wine packages that you can purchased. And, there are beer mugs that you can buy and then have filled up for less.........

Depending on how the FE cabins are distributed, it might be easier to do all forward cabins first (starting on the highest deck, take the stairs down one deck at a time), then do the midship cabins the same way and then the aft cabins.

When we did the Midship Detective Agency, most of the enchanted art is either forward or aft alternating on each deck and I saw many people who kept going from forward to aft and then back to forward. That is a lot of walking. Much easier to just skip one deck and go down the stairs. I think with the FE that might be a better way to distribute everything as well. But it really depends on where the cabins are located that take part in your FE.

Personally, I don't like putting on a wet/damp suit. Since it takes about a day for it to dry hanging in the bathroom, I like having a dry suit to wear each day.

I am in the "bring more than 1 bathing suit camp". We were away for 2 weeks and I brought 3 bathing suits. I also HATE putting on a damp swimsuit. We often swim in the morning and then again in the afternoon. We change out of wet bathing suits and when we go to the pool or beach again I do not want to put on a wet/damp suit. Also, variety is the spice of life!!! LOL!! My husband bring 3 as well. It would NEVER occur to me to bring only one swim suit. I can't wrap my head around that.

This is how we always do both the FE distributions and the Detective agency. Easier to tackle one stairwell/elevator shaft at a time!!! Same trick also works for laundry. Don't go to the one on your floor at the other end of the ship. Take the lift to another floor in the same area as your room...
