King rooms at HRH

We're 2 adults, getting ready for our second stay at universal in early May. We've stayed at RPR previously, and enjoyed it, but DGF wants to stay at HRH this trip, and it is her birthday, so HRH it is! I'm wondering how many King bed/garden view rooms there are. We booked a 2Q/garden view room (with an AP, if it matters...)--is it possible we'll get a king room, if we list it as a preference on our reservation? Or would that mean upgrading us to another room level?

since you already booked a 2 Q room, garden view, call and see if you can change it to a king bed room.

this is not an upgrade.

you have the choice of a 1 K or 2Q bed in a standard room.

if you wait until you check in, the hotel might not have any standard garden king beds left.

the only upgrade, which you pay for, would be going from a garden view to a water view.

there have been people that have had that upgrade waived.
it all depends on availability and the person checking you in.

thanks, macraven! I'm not super interested in a water view--the noise that comes with pools just isn't worth the view for us. but I will call and make the request for a garden view king.

garden views can be lovely.
usually quieter than the pool views.

garden views are cheaper than the pool views.

the first floor is the only floor where pets can stay in the rooms.
the walk out area to the specific grounds that pets can walk and poop is where you don't want to be placed.
avoid the 1st floor.

3rd floor is the lobby.

hrh lobby can be loud but once you are in the area where the elevators are located, you don't hear any of the music or noise.
and you don't hear any of the pool noise/sounds in your rooms.

have a fantastic time on your trip and stay at hrh!

wish the birthday girl a great birthday celebration.

pick up her celebration button at guest services.

This is all great info to have! I don't know the layout (haven't been in the hotel before), but your thoughts have definitely made it clear what I should prioritize. Thanks!

And great tip about the button--I find the celebration buttons at disney easier to remember for some reason, but we're at universal for a full 3 days--a button she will have!

i have read posts on the darkside where peeps have mentioned getting free desserts, or something extra when the TM notices the celebration button.

hope you get popcorn at least on the house....

thanks :) room requests are in--upper floor and king bed. I'll make a report about the trip (or I'll try--I'm still really impressed with folks organized enough to record such detailed info) to let everyone know how we find the hotel.
