Military Resort Discount & Magic Your Way Package

We're planning on staying for 7 nights with quick dining plan & 6 day hopper tickets. When I called Disney, they would not allow me to add the tickets to the package along with the military resort discount. Has anyone had this experience? Thanks!

Were you looking to buy the tickets thru Disney? If so, that is why. You have to purchase your military discount tickets thru your local base recreation office (ITT or MWR depending on your branch of service) I just looked at the recent ITT flyer that came out March 1st. As of then, Disney is not offering a "Military Salutes discounted ticket. We got in under the wire and purchased ours in January that are good until October 15th, we are going in August. We received a 4 day park hopper with water park option for $212 per person, if you are military and a Florida resident base 4 day hopper has increased to $239, before waterpark option. If you are not stationed in Florida, it is $366 per person, before Waterpark, gate price is showing $392.99

Also, Disney will let you use Florida resident status, if you are military and presently stationed in Florida.

Call your base recreation offer. Once you purchase your tickets, you can link them to your magic bands, and your MDE account. I have.

That's the thing. I don't want the 4-day tickets. I want 6-day. They won't let you add days to the 4-day. Purchasing an addition 2-day costs significantly more than a normal 6-day ticket.

Well, is your local recreation office offering a discounted 6 day? Mine isn't, and it usually is across the board, for all services. If Disney isn't offering the discount for 6 days, then they are not offering it on base or through them. Isn't much you can do about that.

I thought ITT only sold the 4-day salute tickets. Just called & they have 6-day tickets $388/$368. Easy enough.

I still don't understand why I couldn't just add 6-day non-discounted tickets to my package through Disney though.

I just re-read the flyer I have, and it states, that 5 day and up tickets are available by special order. So that means, you should be able to get them, it is just a special order and takes your recreation office a week or 2 to get them in. Again, you will have to contact them directly. In the 3 times we have purchased military discount tickets for WDW and twice for DL, we always go through the local office. Disney cannot do the military tickets for you. The CM on the phone even tell you this.

Looks like we were posting at the same time. I don't know why Disney doesn't either. could be for accounting purposes, who knows.

Once you get them though, you can link them with your resort reservations, and you magic band on you My Disney Experience. Easy enough, took me 5 minutes.

Have a wonderful trip!

That's the confusing part. I didn't even know about/want discounted tickets. I just wanted to add 6-day tickets to my package & they couldn't do it.

Oh well. I'm sending the husband to ITT to order the tickets today. Bummed that we have to wait 2-3 weeks for the tickets when our trip is in 43 days.

Oh wow, that does stink! I am impressed that you wanted to pay the full price for them! Maybe they will come in sooner then that. You know how military offices are, they tell you that wait time, so you don't get your hopes up. :)

True!

I was willing to pay full price because I didn't know ITT did longer than 4-day tickets. The CM? from Disney advised I get the 4-day salute tickets & purchase additional 2-day tickets via Disney. Or have a separate transaction for 6-day tickets through Disney.

All very confusing. At this point I'm saving $102, but I have the additional wait time. Fingers crossed ITT overestimated wait time. Thanks so much for your help!!!

You are welcome, and I will cross my fingers for you! Sorry it was so confusing. Don't feel bad! I just looked at our reservations online and it shows our teenager is coming up as a child on the dining plan. So will have to make my own call here too.

ha ha ha! It never ends!

why not use two sets of AFS 4 day hopper tix? $173.25(2) = $346.5, and then you have the leftover days to use until September.

Sorry for the wrong board. Thanks for moving it.

.... I hadn't thought of that. We're only eligible for 6 salute tickets. I could get 4 for Husband & I ($176 x 4 = $704). And 2 6-day tickets for kids ($368 x 2 = $736). $1440 vs $1512.

Can one person use back to back salute tickets??

I have always been told you can. I have used more than 1 in the time period and so has DH so I wouldn't see any reason why you couldn't use them back to back.
