Hello budget board. I need to add some shirts to my work wardrobe. The dress code is business casual. Anyone have any store suggestions? I'm looking to spend around $100 and I'd love to be able to get 6 or more pieces.

I would recommend a store called Clothes Mentor if you have one locally. They are a resale store that carries all different brands for a lot less. A brand name shirt that sells for $60 new would be about $12-$15 or less there. They have a lot of nice professional clothes there. Have fun shopping!

Especially with a small budget, I'd suggest you first try some second-hand or consignment stores (I'm in Canada and don't know if you have the same stores, but here we have Value Village and Goodwill plus some non-chain consignment stores and some run by churches). You can often get very good quality clothes although it can take some time going through what's available. Then when you have exhausted those options, fill in the gaps at discount retail places.

LOFT is great when they have 40% off sales (which is fairly frequently - I think one is going on now). Do you have an H&M near you? Even though a lot of what they have there is trendy and can be cheaper quality, I've actually gotten some great work staples there as well (jackets and tops) that have held up surprisingly well.

I often get great deals at Kohls - on Thursday reportedly there will be a (somewhat) rare overlap of deals that can be combined: there will be a $10 off $30 coupon (online code APRILTAKE10) PLUS if you have a Kohls charge you can get another 30% off (online code BUNNY30) and free shipping (FREE4MVC). In the past, you've been able to place multiple online orders with this code combination, which can lead to some great deals but somewhat irritated delivery persons LOL :)

ditto consignment shops - you can sometime even find shirts with tags on them - never worn!

6 shirts for $100, that's around $16.60 a shirt, including tax. I might try and find a few quality pieces that wear well.

I can sometimes find nice dressy shirts at White House Black Market. They wear and wash up nicely. I look at the sale section and find a code on retail me not. I can usually find a $20 off $80. I like to find some nice shells that I can wear with a cardigan.

Kohls has their 15-20-30% sale at the moment. I think their chaps line wears a bit better than some of their other lines.

I've done well at JCPenney, Burlington Coat Factory (last year I got two pants, a dress, 4 tops and one sweater $170)...

Kohls with a sale, I got a card but only use it when I get 30% off and Kohls cash back...

Nicer pieces that last longer, Macys, Nordstrom... (Shop off season, buy sweaters and winter stuff now, summer style clothes in fall, best bang for your buck)...

Our local consignments are almost as expensive as buying new at Marshalls or TJMaxx, to me it's worth it to buy it new than used...

Jc Penney has good deals and I've also done Walmart - button down blouses for $14 each and dress pants. If you go on their website they have all kinds of business casual items!

Banana Republic Outlet- they have awesome prices for good quality clothes.
There's an extra AAA discount if your family is a member.

I like old navy for dresses, and I always get compliments on them.

I also like loft especially with a sale!

Ann Taylor outlet
Khols
Dress barn(not super cute but good basic under layer kind of shirts)

white house black market would be good to buy a nice quality piece that can be utilized in several looks (a shell to go under different cardigans, or a nice cardigan to go over different types of shells, etc.) I would stick to neutral colors, or colors that you can pair well with different jackets/cardis. Target has a lot of nice-looking (but not nice quality, usually) business casual items as well. Good luck!

Try New York and Co. They frequently have B1G1/2 off, or $50/100 coupons. I buy most of my work clothes there.

Ann Taylor Factory, Banana Republic Factory and The Limited are my go to stores. Sometimes you can find crazy low prices at the regular Ann Taylor in the clearance section.

Land's End runs some good clearance sales as well as Friends & Family discounts, etc; their basic solid-color T is great for layering or alone and is also pretty durable.
