Better to rent or bring own stroller?

I own a city mini gt double and am wondering if it's easier to bring my own or rent one? Have 2 and 4 yr. olds and will be flying. Any thoughts?

I'd bring it. It will help to have it in the airport and you can gate-check it. And, IMO, that's the best stroller to have at DW anyway!

We always drive down, but we still prefered to take our own stroller. Just seems easier..Plus I agree that you will probably want it in the airport anyways.

We've done it both ways because last trip we forgot our stroller.(oops) although I'm all for saving money, it was actually nice not to have to deal with a stroller in the airport. I'm not sure if it was $65 nice though. I would consider how your two year old will handle the airport. If a stroller would make your life easier, then plan on bringing your own.

Last we went with the little ones they were 9 months and 2 years old. We brought the single stroller for the airport.. Rented a double from Apple stroller for 7$ a day. Checking the single stroller was super easy on the plane. Would we have had a double city mini we would have brought it. So I would say bring your own if you can!

Labelleauboisdormant, were you happy with Apple Strollers? The price is unbelievable! I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Bringing the single and renting a double. That way if we are only going to a park for an hour or so after dinner, we can just bring the single as my older child wouldn't need it for such a short time.

We prefer to rent, but we only have 1 DD. We also have a dolly for the car seat where a child can sit in the car seat, on the dolly, and be rolled through the airport. With 2 kids, I'd wear the younger one in a backpack carrier (like an ergo), and roll the other child in the car seat dolly and then rent a stroller from an offsite company at WDW. We've rented from Kingdom Strollers and Apple Strollers and had great experiences with both.

We have no complaints... For the price you cannot go wrong! 7$ double and 5$ single.. Insurance included! It was at the resort when we arrived.. And they picked it up when we left!

I say rent. The way the strollers are designed, it's easy for them to get in and out quickly and often, whenever they want to stop for rides or characters. You don't have to constantly unbuckle them and lift them out.

We are bringing ours solely because our kiddo is not the BEST at acclimating to new surroundings so I figured that a little piece of home might help ease him into the experience as well as soothe him to a stroller nap here and there. My fingers are crossed and double crossed that this works. We've been meltdown city for the last couple of weeks and our trip is in May...:scared:

We were thinking of bringing ours, but went with renting. We are bringing our umbrella stroller to use at the airport and the resort until we get the rental.

We always took a small umbrella stroller for the airport and DTD, but then rented the WDW strollers on park days. Many will say not to rent the WDW strollers, but we always liked them and my girls were comfortable in them :-)

I’ve done both; but my children are nearly 7 years apart; so I was only dealing with one child and a single stroller. When my daughter was young wherever we were going I always had her stroller in the airport, usually a small umbrella type. Our recent trips, we have gone to Orlando and our flights have also been direct from home (no changes). Do you have a connecting flight at some point or is your flight direct? Strollers can be helpful getting little people from one gate to the other as long as it is a decent layover. When my daughter was little I was glad to have her stroller for that purpose when we flew across the country. The flip side of that is if it isn’t a decent layover waiting at the exit for them to bring the stroller up to you might be stressful.

My son was four when we flew last summer and I decided to leave our City Mini at home to save the wear on it and rented one. It was nice for me to go through the airport without equipment. He was not too thrilled though.

We drove there and opted to rent because we didnt want to carry with us more than we had to, considering how much we were already taking with us lol plus our double stroller is much bulkier than the one we rented (double mini city), pushing it around the parks would have been a pita.
