Going in July party of 6....want to do something special...the dessert party is such a pain to try to book I thought this would be more special...
So that being said-Wishes or Illuminations Cruise. I have not done anything like this but it is our 25 anniversary and bringing the family. Which do you think will give us the best experience? We are staying at BLT so we get to see the wishes from other angles but wondering about the view from a boat.

Thanks!!!

Did them both the Illuminations is better. Get close enough under the bridge to fell the heat and force of the explosions

I have only done the Illuminations cruise, it was amazing! It is costly, but worth it as a splurge for a special occasion. We had a fantastic captain who made our cruise really fun.

I ordered Halloween decorated cupcakes from YC private dining to be delivered. They were huge and really good. You can have food, drinks, cupcakes or a cake delivered. The cruise comes with water, soda and bags of chips.

The fact you are at Bay Lake, I think you would not get an appreciably different view of Wishes. The cruise would give you a straight on view rather than somewhat from the side like BLT gives, but nothing significantly unique for you. I have taken both cruises, several times each. Both are great, but in your case, I would go with Illuminations.

Also, the dessert party may be a pain to book, but know well that the cruises also, even though quite costly, do book up. Call soon. Enjoy.

I have done the Wishes cruise twice now, the last being July 3, 2013. Both times were wonderful! The boat was decorated once for my son's birthday and the second time for our anniversary. The music is piped in and refreshments are served (Coke products and chips). We toured the lake and learned some interesting trivia, parked in front of the electrical water parade, and then parked (or should I say anchored) in front of the castle for the fireworks. I cried both times. It's expensive, but worth every penny.

My family did the Illumination Cruise with another DisBoard family last year . It was amazing. We had a little tour of the Epcot resorts area before the Illumination. On our way back, we were treated with the Frozen Firework from THS behind the Broadwalk. Truly magical!!

Thanks , I am going to do illuminations....however not easy to book. How far in advance to they start taking ressies? We are going July 15 and when I called they were not booking yet?

What is the current price for the Illuminations cruise? Just snagged one for May and forgot to ask the total!

Should be 180 days. Last I knew.

$325, plus tax. Total should be $346, plus tip.

"$325, plus tax. Total should be $346, plus tip."

Yikes! and I thought Wishes went over the top with $49.

Except that $346 covers 10 people, so less than $35 a head. And given the price of the Illuminations dessert party, it seems like a steal.
